Soon after getting settled he had to have a bladder surgery the antistatic accelerated the dementia to the point I wasn't able to care for him so he was moved to the memory center. I also had to have a pacemaker put in at the same time. Luckily we we settled where we both had the care we needed. I'm still in independent living but walk through the hall to see my husband every evening and feed him his dinner,then spend time with him until he is put to bed. Everyone's very friendly and helpful.

It is not the staffs responsibility to make sure the facility has adequate staffing, it is the CEO, DON, and the corporations responsibility. If you take care of your staff, they will take care of your patients. PTO is earned and a benefit for staff. Have the respect to honor their time away to rest, relax, and re-coop; they deserve it. Maybe management needs to help cover the floor or you need to hire more PRN staff to give the FT staff a break when they ask; especially when its isn't the management team coming in to work every holiday.

They really put their heart into it and if you need severe rehab rehabilitation after say a head injury this is the place to go to get them rehabilitated.. I wish my husband could stay longer here. But They Are Not! When I asked the receptionist when they were going to start remodeling or construction, she asked, "What"? I said the sign in the foyer says "Please excuse our Mess." She said, "I don't even know why that sign is there." There is no trim/molding at the bottom of the wall. The place probably hasn't been painted in 10 years. The walls are dirty and marked up. The ceilings in certain areas are peeling the popcorn ceiling. The hallways stink especially in the Alzheimer unit. And speaking of the Alzheimer's unit I have only witnessed one time in 4 weeks where the residents were doing an activity. Otherwise, they sit at a table and stare at each other, literally. The entire place is a disgusting pit hole and why my friend's sister put her in there, I'll never understand.

I do not recommend this place at all for a loved one's recovery. I just got back from helping her go to bed for the evening and found out she had wet herself three times because she couldn't get anyone to come help her. I demanded to talk to the head of nursing to get the situation resolved and was told they would get back to me after the weekend was over. Not acceptable. No concern for the patients and no caring for them at all. This place should be avoided at all costs.

BOTH arms were in casts wrist to shoulder and my left knee (hematoma) and foot were broken. And that was just the physical state I was in, my mental state was bruised as well. To say that the staff put me back together is an understatement. The PT's, OT's, Doctors, nurses, volunteers, housekeeping, and food services staff are incredible. They work on individual plans catered to your personal rehabilitation and review those daily. They CARE and it shows. It's not just a job, they are determined and rooting for you. (No kidding, they applaud your accomplishments.)

The aquatherapy with Ian at PAM is excellent!…read more This was my 2nd experience with physical therapy, but Ian's inventiveness led me to learn many different movements I can do in the water to strengthen my core (which he showed me how to find next to my navel) muscles in a fun way. My first workout was mild, but Ian built the intensity slowly over several sessions, so that the last 2 sessions I had left me feeling the endorphins for about 24 hours after the workouts, which is so close to being completely pain free so that even my husband noticed how much happier I was after the aquatherapy. Do NOT let fear of the water intimidate you from taking advantage of this wonderful resource! In the same way race horses are toned in water tanks for racing, you can rebuild your strength with aquatherapy! And, lastly, the folks at the front desks are always friendly and happy to see you, even though this facility is quite busy with patients who stay and patients that come daily. I am so glad I was willing to drive the 50 minutes it takes me to get there for these sessions every week.
