It is true that (especially during meal time when the health care aids add feeding people to their already busy schedules) they can seem short staffed. Really, a person with dementia who is a fall risk probably needs to have someone with them 24/7. What facility could possibly offer that to every patient? Even when the bed alarm is "on" there is too little time between the warning and the fall for a nurse to prevent the fall in most cases, sadly. Our solution has been to have a family member with dad 24/7. I can't imagine the facility is thrilled with that (we try not to be a pain, but probably are anyway). They have been unfailingly kind and considerate to all of us and I can't say enough good things about how kind and respectful they are to my dad notwithstanding his limitations. I did not meet one single staff member while I was there who was anything less than kind and considerate. My whole family has also been impressed by the rehab staff (speech, occupational and physical therapy). Despite my dad's age and lack of short term memory he is making progress thanks to their efforts and the efforts of their predecessors at the hospital. A special thank you to "tattoo man" (sorry, I can't recall his name but he mentioned that another patient with dementia calls him by that name). He has such a nice personality that I think my dad actually looks forward to his next visit and will remember him. Amazing! The actual facility is clean and cheerful. No rehab facility can be perfect but my family and I are very grateful to this one for the care they are providing my dad.

The care she received was very good - first many staff assessed her level of need. Then they built a plan to support, challenge, and strengthen her. They were positive, professional, and kind. I work in healthcare as a psychologist and was impressed. I suppose that if I could, I'd take off half a star for the food being a bit bland.

The PT department here honestly worked him harder than the rehab facility he was at for 2 weeks! Nursing care was excellent, they took the time to explain things to my Dad, were responsive to his needs. We had a horrible experience. One night there was a nurse that was so incredibly rude and…read moredismissive to both myself and my mom (the patient) that I spent the night because I didn't trust the nurse to give my mom the care she deserved. I asked for that nurse to not care for my mom in the future. That worked for a few days, but one night she was having issues and that same nurse was in her room. My mom would push the call button and wait for a long time before anyone would come. She waited on the toiltet one time before someone came to help her back to bed. Her pain meds were often given to her an hour later than expected, which would then be hard to get her pain managed. Her room was dirty and i never saw anyone clean it. There were a few caring people. Amanda as a great nurse. Matt was so kind when giving my mom meds. Be aware of Susan, a nurse there. Not only was she horrible to my mom, but I witnessed her being awful to another patient. That was when I knew my mom's horrible experience wasn't the only one. Even when they said she was a valuable nurse.

I have been trying to schedule an appointment with them after my surgery for over 3 weeks. I asked by doctor to use this group instead of their group as I liked Kyle. However, this place has gone to the dogs. they don't call you back. When I finally talked to Lisa, she promised to call me back. nothing. Terrible service. Look, if they are booked and don't want my business that is fine, but have the common friggin courtesy to call me back and tell me. I have been sitting here, wanting to get started on PT and they have no respect for anyone. I have since found another qualified PT group who actually called me back in like 5 minutes. KU Sports Medicine has gone the way of its basketball program, right down the tubes.

She was able to describe exactly what was going on and what I needed to do to improve. Both injuries had become chronic and nothing had helped significantly until I was finally steered in the right direction. I have been really diligent with my exercises for both injuries and have improved by leaps and bounds! I imagine all of their therapists are good but I worked with Megan and I highly recommend her! The only reason why I am not leaving a 5 star review is that their services are VERY expensive. If you've got good insurance then that shouldn't be a problem but I mine has a very high deductible so I did have to pay a significant amount of money out of pocket for the physical therapy. It was worth every penny but still very expensive.
