The food was outstanding, one of the best meals I've had all week in Brussels. I had the sole and it was delicious. The sauces and veggies were great and large portions! I was stuffed. When I arrived I found an impressive menu of food and drink that I did not expect. They had Westmalle beer, and that was a great start. Ricardo the host/proprietor/waiter is originally from Columbia and we worked through some broker Spanish (on my part) to order an impressive array of Wild Shrimp Croquettes, Chorizo and (I think) Radish Homemade Ravioli, House Cut Steaks w/Belgium Frittes, and Beef Cheeks in Gravy. Very high quality food for this area, in a very friendly atmosphere. I think it was Anna (the chef) who came out and she was very sweet. I could see great care was taken in the preparation. I highly recommend this place when in the center of Brussels. The yelps were on point with this one.
A must go in Lille's suburb. I quite take a welsh there…read morebecause it's the best I've ever tasted around here. The welsh is a northern French speciality made with a slice of bread soaked into beer with ham on it, all covered with melted cheddar and an egg on it. This comes with salad and French fries. They propose one different meal every day and the menu is full of northern French specialities that are all temptations! Staff is very friendly and always have a word for the customers. The atmosphere is very great and makes your feel as a family. There's also a lot of humor everywhere (tables, toilets, decorations) that just finishes the job perfectly :-) I would more than warmly recommend this place.
