Chez Willy is a small little restaurant in one of the side streets off the Grand Place. We ordered from their fixed-prix menu and were not disappointed. We had the asparagus Flemish style, beef cheeks in beer sauce and creme brulee to finish. Everything came out fresh and in a decent portion size. They have indoor seating and also a few small tables outside. The host was super nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere. The food is great. We enjoyed our dinner.

Beef tenderloin with fois and freshly made pasta. Exceptional!

Last stop of our holiday was Belgium so we decided to celebrate our anniversary here. It was really a great experience and they made it special for my wife and I. Menu looked delicious but we both opted for the beef tenderloin with fois gras. It was an exceptional steak and coming from the midwest in the states, that should mean something! The size of the steak was large and the sauce was delicious also. It had black truffle shavings but this was a bit tasteless. Good thing the sauce and fois more than made up for it. When asking for the check they brought us complimentary dessert on the house for our anniversary (informed them ahead of time via my reservation) which my wife was so surprised and delighted about. Value was great and this is a very eclectic restaurant that is perfect for celebrating a special occasion or just going for an excellent meal!

Exceptional steak with Iberian ham croquet

Great food and good prices. 3 pre fixes from 2 to 4 courses. Food was very good. Steak was exceptional.

Fish with ratatouille and rucala ( arugula) cream. Delightful!

Lovely restaurant helmed by a woman chef. Small restaurant with warm and cozy atmosphere. Attentive staff and delicious food.

    Nice lighting.

Chez Willy sits on a small cross street away from the 'frites and moules' hawkers. Which is a good thing. This is a REAL restaurant. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant with a fun sense of funkiness. But the food. The food! All of it was WONDERFUL. First time to have swordfish and I'm a fan. And screw the diet, get the tarte tatin. Reservations don't seem necessary on a Wednesday night but service seemed more consistent for those (us!) who arrived earlier.

But they do their best to seat as many people as possible. I got in fairly quickly because i was alone. The food was fantastic. I had the Carbonade a la Biere, and it was so great! Like a beef stew and very tasty. Also had some good Belgian beer. Service was attentive and very fast. The restaurant is lively and exciting - not really a quiet romantic dinner. But a lot of fun!

While the register states No Cards one of the servers told the table next to mine not worry when they didn't have enough euros. Only a drink menu was provided and the dishes being served that day were handwritten on moveable boards or posted on the wall. I had on my list a couple to try but finally went with the Belgian carbonades à la biere which was beef stew with mashed potatoes in a dark gravy made with beer. The plate was quite generous and much appreciated since I devoured it. I enjoyed the creaminess of the potatoes swirled with gravy but the meat could've been a tad bit more tender. Service was good. I think everyone on the floor stopped by my table for one reason or the other. Ambiance was casual and looked like many people were taking their time over their meals. When finished you need head to the register to settle the tab. I paid in cash. Worth a return visit.

Their rabbit stew was also very delicious and it paired so well with their fries. I'm usually not a big fan of fries, but I could not stop eating them. Service: We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to quickly accommodate us as we got there a bit before rush hour. However, I would definitely recommend making a reservation as it gets pretty busy, especially with locals. All the staff were very nice and attentive as well! Ambiance: They have several levels to accommodate more people. They have their main bar on the first floor, but you do have to hike up a bit of stairs to get to the restroom as there's a flight of narrow stairs, so be careful. I really enjoyed dining here as it felt like a very local spot. This restaurant was definitely the highlight of our trip to Brussels!

The mussels are fresh and flavorful, and you can't help but slurp, I mean scoop up, some of the cream and garlic sauce in between each mussel. The other items are not bad, but nothing to write home about: Flemish beef stew, meatballs in tomato sauce, or even mussels with plain white wine (1 star off). Overall, Le Bistro is a good...bistro...option for some local foods.

Quaint inside with limited seating and ALWAYS busy with a wait, it's easy to understand why. Simple, yet glorious dishes await your palate. We got there at around 12:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty filled already. I ordered the C'est si Bon combo platter, which included a salad, stoemp (mashed potatoes), meatballs in tomato sauce, carbonnade (Flemish beef stew), and vol au vent (chicken in white sauce). It wasn't bad. It's probably not really for my taste buds because it's so heavy but I'm glad it was a little bit of everything so I at least got to try it. I don't think I could have finished a full size of any of these entrees alone. I liked the beef stew more than I thought I would because the beef tends to be dry, but it was pretty tender here. The vol au vent was creative because the dish normally inside a puff pastry but since this was a sample, they put a miniature pastry ring on top, which was cute and made it less heavy. Hubby had La Dinantaise (assorted duck plate with foie gras, smoked breast, gizzards, rillettes, terrine) served with a salad. I enjoyed the foie gras and duck breast but the rest was meh, but more of a texture thing for me. Overall, the food was okay but if you're looking for a variety of dishes to try, this would be a good option.
