Good BBQ but not the best in the area. 2 or 3 in Springfield and BBQ Station in Cassville have much better flavoring and portion sizes. Even so, Hogtide is still worth the visit and will become a local favorite soon, I am sure. Glad to see them get open and provide SWMO with more BBQ choices. read more

I tried the burnt ends with sweet potato fries and beans. My grandparents had ribs, roasted chicken, and brisket. We all loved our food, and the owner was very nice. Very generous portions. Best barbecue around! Would definitely recommend! read more

The bbq was ok. Not championship worthy as they like to advertise, the brisket for sure didn't come out looking like some of their pictures show it as. I ordered a half pound of fatty brisket(point)- I got the lean end(the flat). I also ordered the burnt ends. These guys apparently have a different definition of burnt ends. They weren't burnt in any kind of way and appeared to be, judging by the fat on them, just chunks of brisket cut from the fatty end of the brisket which is not where burnt ends come from. I also ordered the beans which were bland and overly sweet. I will also mention that the worker taking my order had no idea what the fatty end of the brisket is when I requested it. Is this bbq joint just cooking flats? I also didn't see any smoke coming from the smoker and didn't smell any wood burning. The smoke ring on the brisket appeared to have been gas fired. it's likely this place uses a combo gas fired/wood chunk smoker instead of a real smoker. Overall, save your money and go eat some real bbq by driving the 45 minutes to Springfield to eat at City Butcher and Smokehouse or driving the 3 hours to KC to eat some real bbq. read more
