We're regulars at the 5:30 AM Zombie Class -- yes, it's early, but 100% worth it! The atmosphere here is welcoming, supportive, and full of positive energy. Everyone we've trained with has been incredibly patient, caring, and fun to roll with. The instructors are fantastic across the board -- Keith goes above and beyond, dedicating a ton of his personal time to help us grow. David is calm, patient, and excellent at breaking things down, and I've really appreciated Alex's wisdom and thoughtful insights as well. Whether you're a complete beginner or experienced practitioner, this is one of the best jiu-jitsu studios in town. I highly recommend dropping in and becoming part of the Infinite family!

However, the details of instruction and the friendliness of everyone at Infinite, from the owner to beginners, is unmatched. Gustavo (owner/instructor) continues to compete and master his own craft while stressing the importance of technique over brute force to students. I appreciate this approach as an older practitioner, especially after training overseas at an MMA gym which had the opposite mentality. Gustavo is also supportive of kids and adults who want to compete and does his best to be mat-side with them at tournaments. Regarding the kids classes, I also appreciate the few minutes he spends a with them at the beginning of class talking about their day and trying to connect BJJ lessons to proper behavior off the mat.

I recently enrolled my 4yr old on the spectrum daughter into K3 little ninjas program…read more At first I liked the structure of the program, as a fellow young athlete coach myself I felt like I have good judgment in a sport setting. I signed the contract, I brought my daughter for about 5? Classes. On the 5th class there is 3 orange cones they set out have the kids run up to them when the yell the magic word and they were supposed to touch to cone and run back and hit their stance. My daughter was BRAND NEW, the drill was NOT explained I sat there and watched I was one of the only parents not on my phone. The instructor yelled the word my child bolted the opposite way. She came back the word was yelled again... again my child bolted the opposite way. With NO explanation a simple "run to the cone" was not said. The instructor now is next to my child ... yells the word and he almost expected her to bolt (she tried) he grabbed her upper arm and tapped her face with two fingers right by her ear. ABSOLUTELY NOT OKAY IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!!!!!!! I (as a professional coach even just a mother) WOULD NEVER EVER .... Grab a child OR even tap their face. I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and even embarrassed that my child didn't understand the drill and was not explained the drill. I never came back, I kept paying but I cannot bring her back here. As a domestic violence survivor this situation made me extremely uncomfortable to speak up about. My child is 4 you NEVER grab or get physically frustrated WITH A CHILD. The instructors name is Johnny. When your payment does not go through (I keep my card locked) they call you and harass you and INSTANTLY charge your card before you even can finish your sentence!!!! Stay away!! They clearly are money hungry and CLEARLY have not had ANY safesport training.

My 6-year-old son was invited as a guest and was accused of shooting a Nerf gun in another child's face. Without a thorough check of what actually happened, he was immediately removed from the activities and made to sit out for the remainder of the event. When I arrived to pick him up, he was extremely upset and embarrassed. After I spoke with the staff, the main instructor asked another team member what had happened and learned that my son was not the child responsible. At that point, both my son and I received an apology, which I do appreciate. However, the damage had already been done -- he had spent the entire evening isolated for something he didn't do. Even if he had made a mistake, he is six years old. A short time-out and a chance to rejoin the group would have been a far more appropriate response. Removing a young guest from the entire event without verifying the facts reflects poor judgment and a lack of understanding of how to handle children compassionately and fairly. Parents trust these programs to create a safe, supportive, and well-supervised environment. I hope this studio takes a hard look at how discipline decisions are made so that no other child has a night ruined the way my son did.

If you are looking for a place that goes beyond just physical techniques, this is it. Kovar's focuses heavily on building character and self-discipline. Over the past year, we've seen a massive boost in our child's confidence, which has translated into how they carry themselves outside of the dojo. One of the most valuable aspects of the program is the emphasis on anti-bullying. The instructors don't just teach kids how to protect themselves; they teach them the importance of standing up for others and de-escalating situations with integrity. The teachers are phenomenal--they are patient, encouraging, and truly know how to engage with younger children to keep them focused while having fun. We are so grateful to be part of this community and highly recommend Kovar's to any parent looking to empower their kids!
