A climbing net going back up that hill. & a slide going down that same hill. Along with steps, mommas lol Picnic tables under a cool roof. Dog walking park also! Saw lots of people walking their dogs. Looks like a lot of pretty trails, but we didn't experience those. All play areas are visible from closest picnic area, except the bottom of the turf slide hill. 4 stars due to it being on the smaller side, but my kids really enjoyed it. Mostly stayed at the turf hill though & the tractor. Wouldn't make a long trip here as kiddos might get bored after awhile. But def nice if close for picnics, short play, or dog walks!

Wallace Lake is inside this park and has different boating options. Lots of fishing spots as well. You also have paved and trail options to choose from. There are a few big parking areas along with smaller ones. If you go early you are fine usually to find parking wherever. There is also a fitness trail so you can use it in conjection with other workouts.

There is a main trail that loops around and borders the lake. Most of the rim there is foliage blocking the view but there are a few open spots and the overlook spot if you want a view of the lake. I would recommend verring onto the Northern Harrier Trail which was our favorite. Felt very whimsical with all of the wildflowers and deer. This is an excellent spot for birding. Saw a few groups with binoculars. I broke our my bird call app and had dozens of birds identified that we then tried to find. Very fun! The trail itself is pretty short but it's worth doing a few laps if you've got the time. Or taking it really slow to soak it up. There is large parking lot available. Google maps takes you right to it.

We usually take the path through the seven ponds that's across the street from the parking lot. You start on a path through the woods and then it meanders through the ponds to loop back. We usually take the short trail from the parking lot to the eagle's nest lookout. We saw the eagle's nest on our most recent trip but no eagles. It's a short and flat walk that would be good for all ages. It was a little muddy last time but not too bad. Check it out if you're in the area and looking to get outside!

Walking in snow was fun and the views were amazing. Really nice picture opportunities. My favorite images being the trees that have roots exposed. This past weekend my boyfriend and I made the trip to the Brecksville Nature Center to feed…read morechickadees. It was honestly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I grew up on a large piece of land and always loved watching the small creatures who lived near my house. I feed the animals who live in my backyard now, and I love watching various forms of wildlife frolic in my trees. I've always jokingly said that it would be cool to be able to feed birds from my hand (Cinderella style) but I never knew that would be actually possible. It's a pretty simple process. You go into the nature center, they give you sunflower seeds, and then you patiently and quietly wait with your hand outstretched and full of seeds. I was skeptical at first, but...the chickadees and other birds were quick to scope me out. They'd fly close enough to look at me, briefly make eye contact, and then swoop in for some food. They are so light! And beautiful! And amazingly brave, I think. I know I had a hand full of food, but...I'm a heck of a lot bigger than a chickadee. I had about a dozen birds land on me while I was outside. (and I wasn't out there very long - it was coooollllldd) The highlight was having a bird land on my head! This is a super fun (and free) wintertime thing to do. Chickadee feeding is held from late December through February (weather permitting). It's such a cool experience and totally worth the drive, no matter where you live. (and it's especially fun for the little ones! they can warm up inside by the fire afterwards)
