My son recently fell and broke his front two teeth prompting me to use the Emergency dental services at HPD. I called the office after hours and was connected with an after hours service, shortly after Dr. Holdbrook himself called me to discuss the issue. He talked me through everything and ensured that I would get a next day appointment. My appointment was with another Dentist at the practice, but Dr. Holdbrook called me later that night to discuss the appointment and action plan. My confidence is my selection of HPD as my kids dentist has increased after going through an emergency dental situation. I'm so thankful for Dr. Holdbrook and could not recommend him more! read more

We had a good experience for a cleaning! Super kind staff and very patient with my son.... My son had a fall a few days after his appointment and they got him in quickly however I was disappointed with the service/suggestions of pulling my toddlers tooth prematurely.... I took him for a second opinion and they said there was no need to put him under gas and traumatize him.... 2 weeks after the accident and his tooth is still doing fine... so just beware they may try to do preform unnecessary procedures in my opinion read more

Tried to make an appointment, I am insured, and according to the very arrogant girl who picked up the phone, unless I give them my social security number they won't see me. She asked for it and I told her I don't give it out (had my identity stolen more then once from more secure places then this place) she said well I need it. I replied you don't need my social to see my son. She said well it's our office policy to not see anyone unless we are given their social security numbers. I'll be damned. I told her well I guess I'll go somewhere else and she said guess you will have a good day. I'm almost 36 years old with 3 children. I never in my adult life have been required to give my social or my children's to be seen at any medical or dental place EVER and then refused over it. The girl was rude, and the front staff sets the tone for the office. You don't shop or eat where you get poor customer service. It's even worse when it's in the dental or medical field. Stay AWAY!!! As far as you possibly can. Money grabbers and terrible service. The staff makes you feel all warm and fuzzy only to yank the rug out from under you when it comes time to pay. Get on a pay plan they said. We want to help you they said. Never had a good feeling but we stayed on board until we realized how much they over charge for everything. Have since removed ourselves from the office/practice and instead of sending a bill for what we owed, we received a notice to appear in court for a hearing. ALL OVER AROUND $600!!! Avoid this place at all costs! I have been taking my kids who are 13 here since they were 4. This week the dentist called and told me they was an earlier appt avail. We arrived at the appt time of 10 am. We were not seen till 10:45. Then they told me only one doctor was working and that my son wouldn't be seen till after. I left his practice because I thought the staff was rude and had poor customer service. They would call the day before the appointment (while I was at work) and if I didn't respond immediately, they would give my son's appointment to someone else. Two years after leaving, I received bills dating back 5 years for services that should have been covered by my dental insurance which was separate from my health insurance. Holdbrook would only submit the bills to my health insurance (which had limited dental coverage) because they would get more money. I would NOT recommend. read more

The first time I brought my daughter to the dentist we tried the dentistry for special people in the next plaza over. Had a terrible experience with rude staff. I love this dentist office so much!!! Not only do they really care about their patients but they go the extra mile!! My 3 yr old was so scared of the dentist that she would scream her head off but they made sure she felt safe and comfortable even gave her little toys to play with too so she wouldn't be so scared. We originally went here for a second opinion because the previous dentist office said my daughters top teeth had to be pulled after she fell but they took xrays unlike the other office and saw that the teeth didn't have to be pulled after all. Instead of just making money off of pulling teeth they made sure she could keep her teeth. read more

Friendly front end staff. Easy to get to. My special needs child has been there twice. She normally doesnt like the dentist but since her first visit shes had no hesitation or complaints about returning. Every other dentist wanted to put her under general anesthesia sedation. It took us a long time to find a place that had more appropriate alternatives available if needed. The waiting room is adorable with its LEGO theme and colorful surroundings. I had a appointment scheduled for my son and was supposed to get a call back for a appointment time, basically I NEVER received a call and when I called them back asking for the appt time they told me I had to reschedule once again and to call back at a later time... I called back today and now they are trying to charge me 100 cancelation fee.. I NEVER RECIEVED A PHONE CALL FROM THEM! Won't be returning and will cancel her follow up appointment. The staff was nice but I was told my 4yr old would go in the back alone first to make her comfortable and that I would then be called. I was never called back, I have no clue what actual dentist saw her or if one did. Pros: the office is clean and very kid friendly. Teeth cleaning is great. Staff is friendly and makes kids feel comfortable. Help desk staff is also very friendly. Cons: I have 3 major complaints. My kids are 10 and 9. Between both of my kids they needed 5 tooth extractions done by different doctors. 4 out of 5 extractions were extremely painful for my kids. The dentists really didn't take the time to numb the area and didn't make sure it was properly numb before extracting them. Same was with one of the fillings that they started doing before numbing the tooth. Second concern is that they scheduled my son to come in for 2 crowns and a filling. When I come in I was asked to approve 3 extractions which was never discussed or communicated with me. The doctor never talked to me, never explained anything. I actually never seen her so don't even know who it is. So eventually the staff explained why they recommend to do extraction instead of a crown which made sense. Especially that they said that these teeth are already wiggly and another tooth is coming out. So here is my third concern - my son later said that they were never wiggly, not even a little. I wish I checked this with my son before making him go through this extremely painful experience. So communication is really not good. Zero communication from the doctor. And they really don't care to make sure if the child's gums are numb in the right place. I will not be taking my kids there again. The only reason we started going to that office is that it is the only office who does oral sedation that my younger son needed for when he was around 5. They never used it again. And never made sure to make this experience painless for the kids. Having a nice staff and a nice office can only do so much for the experience when the actual tooth work is extremely painful and traumatic for a child. read more

I found out my 5 month old twin daughters were lip tied in April 2021 and I had no dental insurance for them. I paid $1,578 out of pocket for this disgraceful sorry excuse for "medical professionals" to have preform corrective surgery. They did NOTHING to help me given our financial hardship. This was after finding out my husband was losing his job because of the pandemic. These extortionist made a follow up and charged me for not showing up. They charged me for not showing up to an appointment that I not only didn't make but I live almost 2 hours away! They never called to inform me of the appointment they made against my will. They expected a mother of three(one with a disability) would remember. Not like they cared they get paid either way. Nothing but scumbags. I will never take my son here again. My son suffers from weak enamel which is hereditary in our family. I took my son here in May. He does not really like the dentist so he freaked out. They did not try to calm him down, instead they decided the only option was to put him under general Anastasia to get x-rays and fill the cavities. Laughing gas was not even mentioned to me. Not to mention, my son is not even 3 years old yet. After my health insurance would not cover the Anastasia or the facility to have this done, I started to explore other options. I found another dentist that took the time with my son, made him comfortable, told me all of my options and took care of his cavities right away. EXPLORE OTHER OPTIONS!!! My son comes here and there is never any issues or problems. I get seen on time when the appointment was scheduled, none of that showing up and then having to wait "30 minutes to 1 hour stuff"that happens at a lot of other medical/dental offices. They get U in and out! My son is 3 and hard to handle and sit still, etc.. they do a phenomenal job every time being gentle and engaging him! He loves the kid friendly bright scenery, and the prizes he gets Afterwards that he can play with! My 6 year old autistic son has been experiencing severe tooth pain due to a cavity. We were told by 6 different dentists he would need to be sedated and at the beginning of Covid no one was even scheduling. Once we were able to schedule it we still had over a two month wait. We got an appointment at Holdbrook and they were the first dentist who really helped us. They were able to put a crown on his tooth, pull a baby tooth and finally relieve his pain. They were wonderful with my son who has a lot of sensory issues and anxiety. I could not be more pleased with this office and thankful they helped us! read more

This office has completely went down hill since they moved from Voorhees to Cherry hill. The office is in disarray and smells terrible. Different dentist every time my kids are seen and they all have opposite opinions. Unprofessional establishment. Moving onto a different practice. I was looking for a child friendly dentist near our home and was thinking this was a great place. Well I was Wrong, the establishment uses bait and switch tactics to lore unknowing customers to their business . When we called and stated that what our insurance policy was they said it was accepted and scheduled an appointment for my son. We arrived and paid our co-pay and went on our way, months later we were served with a $250 bill. I contacted the Holdbrook Dental who stated that typically patience's with our insurance carry another type of insurance and it was noted in our account the HoldBrook reached out to the insurance company to see if we were covered but never actually contacted them . Once I called and spoke with the manager Ashanti, she stated that I owed the money and even though it was Holdbrooks error it is our responsibility to ensure my son was covered. Great Experience. Super kid friendly. Communicated with the children and made sure their experience was good. My daughter does not like mint flavoring and Ms. Kacy made a point to make sure none of the flavored items were mint for the rest of the visit. My daughter was very afraid of the dentist. She was that kid that was held down for a teeth cleaning. Then she had Michelle clean her teeth for her and it was like magic! She now gets excited to go and makes sure to tell everyone how much she loves Ms. Michelle!
