Dear Doctor Singer, I am writing to respectfully request an exception to your usual policy regarding parental presence during dental procedures. My 4-year-old daughter will be undergoing cavity prep work, and I strongly feel that my being in the room will help comfort and reassure her throughout the process. As her parent, I believe my presence is crucial to her emotional well-being during what can be a stressful, first-time experience. While I was explaining my concerns to the hygenist in the room - Emily, I believe - she said that I was welcome to have the procedure done elsewhere. It was disappointing to be dismissed in such a manner and then to hear the "this is our office policy" as a standard response. I want to find a solution that puts my daughter's needs first. I also want to outline that, as a parent, I am not comfortable having my daughter in a room with strangers while she is semi-conscious. I work in a field where we tell parents NOT to allow their children to be in a room with adults they do not know. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. *Dr. Singer called within a few hours to explain why they dont allow a parent in the room at all. It's BS. Please accept this email as formal notification of Stella's termination of her relationship with ABC Children's Dentistry. For context, I shared my experience on social media, and the platform's power did not disappoint. I received overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and even strangers who all agreed that your "office policy" on procedures is absurd. Parents and people without children alike continued to share my story. I also received the names of six dentists who not only permit but also encourage a parent to be present with their child at any age. Dr. Singer is simply the best. We've been visiting since my older son was in grade school and he just had his last visit there as a college student! My younger son has been going since he started getting teeth and is now 10. They love going to see Dr. Singer, see what new Disney addition they can find in his awesome office, and watch the newest Disney movies on the tons of TVs throughout. My older son was bummed to have to move to an adult dentist. That's how amazing Dr. Singer is. We recommend him to anyone we talk to about dentistry because he and his staff are simply the best!! read more

Dr Singer has been the absolute best in taking care of my child's dental needs. His bedside manner is Outstanding! We mostly see Mrs. Sam for cleanings, but the entire staff is extremely friendly. My child loves coming to the dentist, and is motivated to work at maintaining a dazzling smile! The office staff is very accommodating with appointment times, and the office is managed extremely well from a communication and billing perspective. They are very proactive and always a step ahead on everything that you need. Making the switch to ABC dental a few years back, turned out to be the best choice for my child! read more

Just wanted to share a pretty bad experience that over the phone with the receptionists. My 6 yr old daughter (who is more like a 6 yr old going on 20) went to her yearly check up at my family dentist and did great. My family dentist is loving and amazing but was not able to do an x day bc she's not a pediatric dentist and noticed that my child had one cavity and maybe a second although she was pretty sure she only had the one. She then referred us to a pediatric dentist and I called ABC Dentistry but not before calling my dental carrier and understanding my dental benefit thoroughly and even reading the summary plan description as well as the providers fee schedule and even the billing codes that the provider should bill. My yearly copay had already been met as a family and each member (me and each of my kids) has a 2500 max for the dental plan. The very rude receptionist on the phone decided to tell me that "no matter the dental insurance I had" I would have to pay a "comprehensive" exam of $80 even if my dental plan covered 2 exams a year as a "safety net" for me since my daughter "likely" would need to come in more than twice a year... Umm what?! Then she said she would be given laughing gas at a rate if $150 (not paid by the insurance) for having one or two cavities filled and nothing else which I declined. Then woman then said that all children in that practice get laughing gas for filling cavities...Umm again, what?! When I declined it just went downhill from there. I called three other pediatric practices and all of them reassured me that my child should not be forced to have laughing gas if not absolutely necessary. I canceled the appointment and the front desk staff left me a voicemail for me to call back to "better understand billing etc" It all ended with me receiving another threatening phone call from the office manager informing me that in an earlier staff meeting Dr. Singer was informed of me giving a review in a forum and that if it was not deleted by 5pm est today I'd be contacted by his attorney. The front staff is rude, mean hearted and they also call numerous times to engage in argumentative behavior and to also use scare tactics. We unfortunately never even made it to the door to even see the dr as a result of the staff over the phone engaging in such unprofessional behavior. Scary to think of the in office staff that deals with little ones. read more

This place is AMAZING!! I've never seen so many children going in HAPPY and leaving HAPPY! (Including my own) The environment itself is a wonderland of VERY recognizable cartoon props, interactive play areas, movies (not to loud either!) and pleasant distractions for the kids (and fun loving grown ups) The hygienist are wonderful! When they receive the children they are welcoming and kind. When they are working on the Patient they are calm and engaged w/the children. Upon checking out those same hygienist are great with parents reviewing any needs or prevention practices. From beginning to end we have had great experiences at ABC dental. I recommend them to family and friends all the time! read more

Absolutely LOVE this office!! They got me in quick for an emergency, and continue to give great customer service. My step daughter loves seeing Dr Singer and goes back for cleanings and fillings with no hesitation. I am so happy I found this office. I even get to watch Disney movies while I wait. Dr. Singer and his staff made my very nervous six year old feel right at home. She was in tears after hearing that she had cavities and would have to stop eating so much candy. But by the time he was done she was smiling and happy to go back. That's not such an easy thing to do at a dentists office! Its a very "fun" place if that is what you are looking for and the dentist is a nice man but some of his staff is extremely rude one hygienist was down right mean to my very scared 4 year old but the doctor was so apologetic. When asked for an appointment after 2:30 I was told it didn't exist?! I informed them I would wait up to 6 months and was still told it's not possible? I sent an email to see if someone more reasonable could help and never received a response. This was for a regular cleaning and I was willing to wait!? read more

My daughter required pediatric dental work and since my facility is tailored for adult, trauma and specialty care I thought it best to put her in the hands of a pediatric dentist. Forgetting the ambiance of the office (AMAZING btw!!!) Dr.Singer is a seasoned professional and the reason you should take your child here. He will make your child feel so relaxed and at ease. His staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. My daughter had no issues during and after her procedure. Highly recommended by myself and Center City Emergency Dentist!!!!!! Dr. Singer was our third attempt at finding a pediatric dentist. I wish I had found him first. He has a wonder demeanor with children. He's very calm and patient and explains everything thoroughly. Their updated office is so fun for the kids, my two look forward to it, where they didn't at our previous dentists. The waiting area has a sliding board and iPads, books and toys. Each room has a wall TV and a ceiling TV so they can watch a movie during their cleaning, even reclined. The hygienists and support staff have all been wonderful. We've been going for about 3 years and are very happy. My husband and I wish he would take adults. :) read more
