This has become one of our supermarkets since stop and shop closed last year. It has all the things but be prepared to spend a pretty penny. Quality is fine. They actually have pretty good baked goods- we love their chocolate chip cookies. The parking area is a zoo- especially during prime time on weeknights - but a risk worth taking when you need to make dinner. read more

I have only shopped here a couple of times since it's a distance from my home. I shopped there today and found a product which was hard to find...that was great! My one issue with this store is the very unfriendly cashier. I always try to say hello when at the register, which I did to this woman. She completely ignored me, seemed angry, and after checkout just handed me the receipt and abruptly walked away. I chose not to say thank you, or acknowledge her after such an unfriendly encounter. If in the future if I need something from this store, I will make sure to steer clear from this unpleasant woman. read more

I don't know and don't care to know why others reviewed Holiday Farms so poorly, I'm refusing to read their scribble - the complaining type always have something that displeases them on a daily basis. Once inside there is a wall display with two options to sanitize your hands (or wherever you want to sanitize) to cleanse off the dirty street grub. Or even the handle to your cart while seemingly boundless options of hearty NY chips stack the side walls until you enter the second set of doors. And keeping with the abundance of product, the beat continues on into the prepared foods section, cured meats, fishes in a jar, the deli soon appears as i circumnavigate the perimeter. Deli men are all in white and look like WW1 surgeons with the cloth face masks and beanie shaped lid covers as the slicing and sliding to the Hobart scales runs efficiency like an Escoffier training floor. Two hot soups of the day looked fresh and smelled wonderful, I had quick visions of fall because it's a bit too gummy outside to currently increase my core temp. Great beer selection, sushi is not a more common insert into American grocery and there was a friendly face prepping so no Robot Sushi is sold here -- this is my interpretation. All workers are smiling and the sounds of Ray Charles swing from above and through the label forward facing aisles and above the spotless shine of the freshly waxed green and black floors. read more

Not a pleasant experience! My wife has been a loyal customer for four decades at the Roslyn branch and has never returned an item there. Had purchased a 3 lb. brisket that contained more fat than meat. After cooking it for 4 hours it was inedible. She called Joe, the store manager, about it. He was rude and instead of a simple apology, he was rude, nasty, and questioned her verasity, insisting on proof of purchase. Unfortunately, he lost a regular customer. My favorite market! I never leave yelp reviews but I feel compelled to share my experience. I am a new mom and I have only been food shopping with my new baby twice and both times the cashiers at holiday farms insisted on loading my items onto the conveyor belt for me (despite me saying that wasn't necessary) and both times the cashiers also insisted on assisting me out to my car and loading my groceries for me. It might not seem like a big deal but these acts of kindness really helped me. Holiday farms has always been my favorite market and even more so now! Spoke with Management over at Holiday Farms Franklin Square Monday morning, and he was as useless as the worker who grabbed my daughters arm.. After telling Morty to go back to the video tape, he kept saying she was doing her job??? Her job is to act aggressive, Rude, Nasty, defiant, and she wouldn't act this way, if she didn't have the backing of this lazy ass manager who's afraid of putting his girls in check!! NOBODY TOUCHES MY KID Just like you wouldn't someone touching your kid.., This lady needs a class in customer service or maybe a formal education... She was smart enough to tell her boss what happened to cover her ass. If she believed she did nothing wrong, she would have gone upon her day like every other!!! After this waste of time wasted my time and realizing there was no way he was going to make her apologize , because here at Holiday they don't hold their employees to higher standards that they themselves should have. I called corporate and spoke with a very nice young man, Josh. Who absolutely was a class act, and understood everything I said. He knew the woman, and everything was going fine, but nothing about her ever apologizing for her actions??? Most places, would review the tape, and either make her apologize or let her go??, But on this day , nothing was going to happen... I use to live and shop at the Roslyn location and I will tell you from 20 years experience, Holiday farms in Roslyn is 10 cuts above compared to this Franklin Square location... These employees need a class when it comes to treating people properly. The workers don't care if they lose business, because in their heads, I'll still get paid! I'm dissatisfied and disappointed with how this went down but they lost a family of five that shops there, and I will tell everyone else I know about what this woman did and how they handled it.. If you want a petite sandwich or a sandwich for a child... do NOT go to Holiday Farms in Glen Head. I asked for 3 slices of bologna and 3 slices of American cheese with a little mayo. And I got just that, but for $11.00. I find it absurd. I could have bought a pound of bologna, a roll and mayo all for less than what I paid for this sandwich. The deli department says it does not matter how big the sandwich is, they are the same price. Ridiculous. read more

I come here very often. I love the staff in this store. One of the workers there I just found out his name is Mohammed, is one of the nicest guys in the world. He always greats me and my son very warmly and always so helpful. It's because of him as to why I am a repeat customer there. The cashiers are all great and the deli people in the morning are the very best in the business. The store has everything you need, and their sushi is so fresh and delicious I can't get enough of it. read more

Picked up a 6 pack of Charmin and it was $20!!! Every other retailer has it for $9! Price gouging during this time is disgraceful, and illegal. Clearly the pandemic hasn't affected this "small business" as it's all about turning a profit for them. Additionally they have the rudest, nastiest cashiers. Act like they're doing me a favor ringing me up. Don't like the job? Quit. But treat patrons kindly especially ones who are always polite, and respectful. Absolutely over priced 9 dollars for a 3 bags of mini pretzels and they are racist, They check my darker colored friend for stealing but he was innocent he checked the Asian friend and was innocent too. After a very unsettling experience today, I can no longer recommend Holiday Farms. At the deli counter earlier today, a deli worker named Joey was standing 1 inch from the scale that was weighing my turkey breast (being sliced by another worker). Joey's mask was pushed down exposing his nose and mouth while he was talking to the other deli worker breathing and exposing saliva particles 1 inch from the sliced turkey. When I politely asked the person who sliced my turkey to create a fresh batch of sliced turkey, the other worker (Joey) threw insults toward me. Even pre-Covid times this would have been a very unsanitary situation, but with Covid it's an unacceptable health hazard. When I approached the assistant manager in the store, he shrugged and said "ok...I'll talk to him" and went about his business with indifference. I bought about $100 of produce. Everything went bad in a day, a total waste of money. I picked up (and put down) moldy eggplant in the store, way overripe grapes, soft radishes, and brown lettuce of every kind. I showed it to an employee who said and did nothing about it. I did buy fresh corn that has a real strange taste to it (garbage now). The only produce that I bought that I can use is an onion. For these prices, it's just disgusting. read more

I shop at the Glen store. I find this place to be clean, well stocked and priced in the middle. I wish the Meat and Fish department could be more accommodating as to cutting items I cannot find in the self server cases. I see a number of people complain about the attitude of the Deli men and they are right in fact I shopped it when they first opened and didn't get good vibes so I never shopped it again. Recently I got a few pick up orders and used the Deli and the food is very good. So when the covid tapers and go back to in store I'll try the Deli and check out the attitude's, the food I know is very good as mentioned. Overall I find Holiday a good, convenient, quality operation. read more

The people at the deli not only have zero manners but they also go out of their way to be extremely nasty, rude and unprofessional. They act like they're doing YOU a favor by giving them business. I asked for 2 sandwich and basically got yelled at by the people behind the counter. My order was WRONG and when my sandwiches were handed to me the lady practically threw them at me. Our family has been shopping at Holiday Farms for many years, however, management now has become lax. Checkout personnel now do not make any effort to pack your groceries. When asked, most packers give you a look like it's "not my job." Manager does not intercede. I didn't mind paying their high prices all these years, but the employee and manager's apathy makes one shop now at Whole Foods or Iavarone. read more

Both of my most recent trips to Holiday Farms I have been over charged. First time they charged me for 7 of a particular item when I had only taken 6. Today I went again and same thing - they charged me for 6 of an item that I only had 5 of in my cart. I normally do not check receipts until I get home but in this case I will have to start checking all my receipts on property of Holiday Farms to avoid getting overcharged. Once is a mistake but twice is now a pattern. I will not let them take me for a fool a third time. read more

I love this supermarket. The recent beautiful renovation has given Holiday Farms a brand new, enlarged delicatessen department, and its gourmet offerings are so varied and high-quality that I could be shopping at one of the best charcuteries in Paris. The entire store stocks items that I can't find in other supermarkets in the area. The staff has been nothing but kind and professional in my experience, and the managers are helpful when I make a special request. I wish I could give this place NO STARS! I usually have no issues here and I called as I pulled into the parking lot to see what time they closed because the shutters were down. The lady answered and said 7 pm. Mind you it was 655, I was in the parking lot and needed to run in only for baby food. I get to the door and it is closed. I called. Ask asking how are the doors closed, lights off etc when it's 655. She said ITS THREE MINUTES TO 7 and hung up the phone. So I called back infuriated and another woman answers. I asked who is the manager which she said Joe and said he will be there on Monday. I asked how can you guys have the entire place closed when I was told you close at 7? She RUDELY said to me " we close 15 min early to clean and close the registers do you think they are going to pay us extra if we close the doors at exactly 7?" My mind was blown by how rude I was being spoken to. I asked her for her name 7x ... SEVEN TIMES after she said that to me and she NEVER answered me! So I said its fine. I will be calling Monday and asking for Joe and I'm sure he knows who is on his schedule. I don't complain or write bad reviews but I feel no customers should be spoke to in such a manner. If my establishment closed at 7. I close my doors at 7pm. Not 645,650,655 ... I'm highly disgusted and will never shop there again which is a shame BC I love their products. Keeps getting better! This classic style market has the best selection and variety of any market i've ever been in. The deli has the most creative and tasty prepared foods at excellent prices. The store is about to undergo a complete makeover and expansion which should only make it better. Family owned and operated for more than 50 years, pride is taken at every turn. If there is a product you want and they don't carry it, just ask the owner or manager and they will order and stock it for just you, no one else can say that. Some people have complained about the high prices, but they are incorrect! Compare their prices to ANY local grocer and you will see they are less than even many of the Stop and Shop's or Waldbaum's in the area. Plus you can get in and out fast, no long lines ever and home delivery anywhere! read more
