My first time going to Uncle Giuseppe. The down side the store is small and the aisles are very narrow, but it's well stocked. Nice produce section fruit and vegetables are packed out nice and good quality. The seafood section has fresh quality fish on ice so customers can pick out the the different varieties and the fish is already cleaned. The deli has pre-made lasagna, chicken cutlets, eggplant etc. The bakery has a wide selection of cakes and cookies. The grab and go is good when you need to pick up a quick meal for lunch or dinner. read more

Just came from catered party from Uncle Giuseppe in Port Washington NY .. Don't know where the negative reviews come from. Food was very good from baked ham ; juicy, to potatoes to pasta sauce to stuffed mushrooms. The deserts were delicious everything was fresh. Better than other supermarkets in area.. Expensive compared to La Bella out in BK and SI-but considering I can't find anywhere close to this in Queens, this is my current resort. Their made in store sauces are amazing, such a large variety, I strongly recommend the Bolognese and their rice balls from the deli section.. they have soooo much deliciousness, I gain 10 pounds by just walking in here. Place has a decorated history when it comes to failing food inspections and lacking proper food safety procedure. Recently brought a few cold cut heros home and upon eating it another member of my family and I were vomitting for the next 24 hours. Sure seemed like food poisoning. Gave the sandwiches the benefit of the doubt (I ate a number of different foods that day) and ate another half of a hero the day after I recovered. Hardly made it to the bathroom the next morning. Agree with other poster- isles are very small and not a place where social distancing is easy. Ordered a Volcano sandwich through DoorDash and received a turkey wrap. I was told a turkey wrap is a reasonable substitute. Scratching my head at the logic. Turkey = chicken. Sandwich = wrap. They "ran out" of fresh mozzarella? I've never been to a UG that "ran out" of anything! This UG has zero variety of the wonderful food UG is known for. Three different kinds of soup, no pastry department - they had two lb cookie trays for display at the deli counter?? I should have driven 20 minutes East and gone to Melville. Penne alla Vodka was dry with no sign of the creamy vodka sauce you have in store on your buffet table!! It pains me to write a negative review as I love Uncle Giuseppe's and always had positive experiences. Yesterday was my first visit to the Port Jefferson location. Among my purchases I picked up 1 1/2 lbs of biscotti. First of all they didn't have the Neapolitan variety. The case had a a few almond and pistachio that I ordered. When I got home these biscotti were rock hard. After spending almost $20 I think it is reasonable to expect fresh items. As I live in Queens, I couldn't make a trip back. Lesson learned. I am avoiding this location in the future. Update---- I contacted customer service and told them my story. I was in contact with Tina from the Port Jeff location. I would spend the last $7 I had on their fresh squeezed orange juice during the summer time, it's what keeps me coming back. I will also come occasionally for the fresh pasta! Had a problem w a product I bought from them. I got the impression the staff was not used to customer service and felt the overarching motto was "customer beware." Just moments before I had bought $160 in groceries. I decided to sever the relationship and return what I had bought and shop elsewhere in the future. At this moment they had a change of heart and refunded 50% on the bad product. My feelings toward them are not as enthusiastic as it once was. I had placed an order yesterday... right as I was going to pick it up I received a call stating that the order was going to be extremely light being that many items weren't available... I was asked if I were willing to come back the following day so that the order could be completed... First of all, I love this place. I have been coming over for almost 10 years now. Excellent food, amazing customer service, BUT, I couldn't believe what my eyes were witnessing a few days ago; I was checking out my groceries on the last register near to the Deli, the cashier was being so nice and respectful to me, I have seen him before and every time I'm there he never disappoints me, he always ask me if I found everything I needed, if everything was good in the store, and he is always very professional and polite. Anyways, he called over a manager for a price check, and the next thing I heard was one of the managers from the deli mocking him. I Jets shocked. This manager made fun of this cashier IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. In front of customers, in front of employees in front of everyone. I got to see his name tag TONY apparently the deli manager, even others managers laughed with him. This cashier is one of the sweetest guy in the store and what they did to him was unbelievable. I'm pretty sure that was not the first time cause I've heard the same in the past, but I never paid attention to it. I told the cashier which's name is VINCENT that he was doing a great job. Every single morning I come here to buy rolls for work. Pia welcomes me every single day with a smile and warm welcoming. I will always come here for my fresh mozzarella, and when I'm in a pinch for bruschetta. Some things are priced higher then others, but look where its located. Produce has never let me down. We had the best experience with Uncle Giuseppes. We had it delivered by Pierre who works there. He was fantastic! He played nice music while he set it up beautifully. I happened to be in Port Washington and figured I could pick up some dinner here. The meatballs are not as good. I have to say that the roasted butternut squash soup was a unanimous favorite. It definitely surpassed my homemade butternut squash soup.
