Came to this Trader Joe's Garden City while in the area to do some quick shopping...shared parking lot with other stores in the shopping center. Just happened Pi day and the day they had the pastel mini-tote bags. Staff was very organized as customers walked through the door - limit 4 bags max. That was either one of each color. Purchase one of each color along with other items. Compared to other TJ stores, this was very organized. Store does get crowded but lines go fairly quickly at check out. TJ's does have some a variety of new items - so always be on the look out for them. If one is looking and can't find something, ask the staff. read more

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite neighborhood grocery stores. Trader Joe's located in The Gallery At Westbury Plaza opened in 2012 and is right next to The Container Store. The Gallery At Westbury Plaza is an easily-accessible, open-air shopping destination located on Old Country Road in Nassau County and has Old Navy, Saks Fifth Avenue, Paris Baguette, Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas, along with a number of other stores and restaurants. There are plenty of parking spots. Trader Joe's carries a great variety of products from everyday basics like milk, eggs, meat, bakery items, and fresh produce to totes, fresh flowers, and hand lotions. Shelves are fully stocked and staff are friendly. I got lucky one day when I stopped by and saw boxes of the Mini Canvas Tote Bags ($2.99 each). There were a limit of 4 which was sufficient for me to pick up for my friends and I. The green canvas bag ($3.99) was also in stock. The petite bouquets ($3.99) are always fresh and a perfect little gift for yourself or for someone else. I also really enjoy their from the freezer selection like the cookie butter ice cream ($4.99), Jumeokbap (Korean Rice Balls) ($4.99), and Kimbap - Korean Tofu and Vegetable Seaweed Rice Roll ($3.99). This is one of my favorite Trader Joe's to go to because it's in an area with lots of shopping options. They typically have everything I need and all the new drops and seasonal items. It's also Trader Joe's so of course the customer service is exceptional. This is a busy location, so the parking lot is always quite full. After a long hiatus I returned to TJ, all that I was accustomed to is still in place specially the attention, help and courtesy from the staff. TJ has varied inventory at great prices. The products and fruit are fresh and so good. The establishment is cleaned. I missed the station with samples. Compared to other grocery stores TJ is in the smaller side, however the space is utilized to the maximum, and every item is labeled. As per request the employee/s will help you to the car, no tipping-it's not allowed. read more

As far as Trader Joe's go, although this store doesn't have a very good line system like most. I notice that on the wkend this Trader Joe's isn't as crazy as others like the ones in the city. I made the mistake of going once during the week and it was much more insane then. Just to many SAHMs. People are so nice here too. I had my baby with me and one of the clerks helped me push my groceries and packed them into my car for me. So sweet of them! Wonderful customer service! When we moved to Long Island in 1990 the grocery situation was abysmal. Dominated by two chains whose dreary stores proclaimed You're on an island. Deal with it. The first glimmer of hope was Trader Joe's coming in during the early 90s. Suddenly we had access to Western foods such as tamales and real tortillas. This store is ten minutes from our house and slightly preferable to the one in Merrick. Even when it is packed and bustling the customers and staff seem to be enjoying themselves. The selection of unusual and well priced food is a joy. We are impressed that every lane is open to check out. Only disappointment is that they no longer carry Orangina. We will always drive past Whole Foods to shop here. read more

My staple store for groceries is always Trader Joe's. Wanted to head over when I heard they had their seasonal items out for this year. I was able to snag the Chocolate Collection for the fall season and it did not disappoint. They looked so cute and tasted great - dark chocolate, milk chocolate, hazelnut, and white chocolate flavors. The service was alright with the staff quickly checking out my items and asking me about my day. Ambiance is always bustling with staff restocking items and working the cashiers. This locations remains my favorite Trader Joe's location. Most times of the day here, I can literally walk in, find what I need and be back in my car in under 5-10 minutes. I say "can" because in reality, I tend to roam each isle for at least half an hour as I'm always amazed by the aray of healthy (or semi healthy) and delicious options they have. The best part of the store is the friendly staff, who are always great with bander and super efficient. I went in to buy some snacks for my birthday party and after talking to one of the young women in the bakery aisle, I was able to find everything that I needed. She was incredibly kind and I just wanted to call her out... I don't often go to Trader Joe's because the atmosphere can be daunting. I didn't even notice place was here. Are used to drive all the way out the Plainview. Claudio who is a cashier was super awesome. They were packed but work through everybody really quickly. Have been here many times, the food selection is always good and so are the prices. I especially like the yogurt, dark chocolate covered almonds, the vegetable fried rice, frozen dinners, coffee and bread to name a few. Every time we go all the staff are always restocking items working very hard and so are the cashiers. They do their best to keep the lines moving. Everyone seems to be very motivated and efficient. I recently purchased a pack of "thin sliced" chicken cutlets. It consisted of 4 random pieces of chicken breast Two large pieces and two little scraggly pieces. The only reason i am giving this one star is because the greeter at this location allowed a woman to use the shopping cart as a doggy carrier. New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets states it is a violation for pets to be in a grocery store. It is a violation of federal and state food safety rules. i don't want pet dander on my food or pet hair or paw dirt in the carts which house my food. .....Teach your staff to stop breaking the health codes and remind shoppers they cannot bring their pets in the supermarket! read more

Went on a Thursday afternoon around 2pm for 2 items and who would have thunk the line would be that long, but once inside it was quick and easy. We have been waiting patiently for them to restock the Peach Bellini since around mid October. They had soooo many and another flavor to try. My husband and I are super fans of Trader Joe's. It is so popular that the wait is always really bad due to social distancing during COVID-19. It has been almost 3 months since our last visit so we miss shopping there so much. The line on a Sunday afternoon at about 2:00pm wasn't too bad so we finally got a chance. The staff was friendly, attentive and kept every customer in order. Most of shelves were fully stocked with a great variety of ingredients, products and prepared foods. The veggies and fruits were fresh. We got an adorable basil plant and are excited to use it cooking shortly. The drive from our home to this location wasn't too bad so we will plan to visit again if we want something from TJ next time. read more

I went to the Trader Joe's this afternoon, located in Westbury, NY, off of Old Country Road. I bought some plants and explained to Max who was working at the register that one of the ceramic pots (holding my plant) broke due to the clerk at the Trader Joe's in Hewlett packed it incorrectly the week before. Max, out of the kind of his heart, told me to get a new plant and he would not charge me. I got the new plant, then immediately went to the store manager to let him know how Max helped me with an item in the store, virtually without explanation! What an awesome guy. Great range of items to choose from. I usually go to the TJs in Oceanside or Hewlett, but they feel much smaller. They always have my favorite chocolate covered holiday cookies available when it is around Christmas/Valentine's day. I like that they had apple and pumpkin flavored cookies, cake mix, pancake mix, and drinks when I went this week. This Trader Joe's is always bustling. I came here at 8pm on a week night and the parking lot was still very busy. The people that work here have always been very nice and helpful. Even close to closing time, the cashier who helped me still patiently packed my bags with the heavier items at the bottom. Very thoughtful. I appreciate that everyone I saw at 8pm was still working so hard to keep the shelves full to make sure we could have a good shopping experience. Three words: Ube Ice Cream! Who would have guessed that Trader Joe's would sell such awesome ice cream. A very intense flavor! Wow! You say, ice cream made from a sweet potato? How good could that be. It is seriously delicious. Go there and get some while they last. Next time I'm over there, I plan to stock up as much as my freezer will allow. Any that don't fit will be happily eaten immediately. In fact, I hope they don't fit. Trader Joe's is where I do most of my grocery shopping. Yes I know they don't sell any brand name products. But those sometimes are not the best. Trader Joe's products contain less artificial ingredients. They test their products and remove any products they deem unworthy. Some of my favorite products: Matcha green tea almond milk Brownie truffle baking mix Quadruple almond butter cookies green tea mints Marsala Style Sauce with chunky mushrooms (This is super yummy stuff. Just add it to a pasta with some protein) And for those of you who don't want to cook. They have a pretty large selection of pre-cooked frozen meals. Everything from mexican fajitas, to indian chicken tikka masala to an assortment of asian dumplings, even soup dumplings. They come out with new products often so check the new product section for some interesting stuff. In the back of the store, there is a tasting counter where a server gives out free samples of some products, as well as drinks. read more

Worst store ever. Manager made racist comments to me and my wife- we are both black. She accused us of not being able to afford our groceries yet we paid with cash and there were no issues. She made racist and discriminatory comments. Customer service here is terrible and the veggies and fruit are not even fresh. Avoid avoid avoid. Shop at any other grocery store. read more

I love Trader Joe's and would rather drive 20-30 minutes to shop here during the week. I wish they would open a TJ's in Huntington since we have the worst markets here!! This particular location was packed yesterday, probably because it was Saturday and Presidents weekend. The staff is always nice and they know how to pack groceries properly and don't charge for paper bags with handles! The manager let me return something I bought at the Commack location so that also made me happy! We stocked up on my fave gluten free bread and garlic spread. Tangerines were $2.99 for a huge amount! I LOVE Trader Joe's. Especially this Garden City store on Old Country Rd near the mall. I've been coming here for years now..whenever I'm out in the area (I live in queens). It has such a WIDE selection of interesting items & cute little Knick knacks for cheap! I must say... my wife and I were super excited to shop here, especially for fall related festivities. The store was so neatly organized, with the produce section in the front, dairies in the back wall & the deli/meats around the corner wrapping around towards the back of the store. Each aisle had its unique identity. For instance, there was an aisle strictly for frozen foods/veggies/pastries. Another aisle had strictly pastas & Italian items. I absolutely loved this aisle. It had everything I needed. We picked up a bunch of items like ground beef, flowers, Fall pastas/pumpkin & squash ravioli, fall salsa & tortilla chips, pumpkin & butternut squash bisque, pumpkin bagels with light cream cheese, fall themed loaf, Mac & cheese bites, apple cider donuts, organic carrots & potato-lings, pumpkin flavored pasta sauce, & double concentrated Italian tomato paste. The whole store is full of interesting items that just make you wanna grab it off the shelf & give it a try. I'd HIGHLY recommend checking them out as most of the items were delicious! I love the dried mandarins and fresh squeezed orange juice for vitamin C to keep healthy. I am a big Trader Joe's fan. The flowers are so inexpensive. So many snacks! The associates are so nice. How come Garden City gets all the good stores? They should open more Trader Joe's in Long Island. This is the best Trader Joe's in the area. The Trader Joe's in LIC has zero parking so I hate going grocery shopping there. The one on Metropolitan Avenue is better but it's packed all the time to ridiculousness amounts of people and cars to a point you don't want to go in. Going grocery shopping without an Uber or car is also a waste of time. Shopping for a few items at a time, not my thing. Trader Joe's in Westbury is excellent. There is a plethora of parking spots even on the weekend. There is room in the store for you and your cart without feeling claustrophobic. The checkout lines are fast. We love it here, of course. It's not the biggest place. But, it's the closest and most convenient TJ's around. We come out here from Whitestone about once a month. It's the selection of hard to find items that draws us. All kinds of unique products. And the prices on regular stuff is very reasonable. Some stuff are even cheaper than at big box stores like BJs. For example, we love the frozen food section. We always get frozen Indian dinners, Balti Pies, and soup dumplings, Korean pancakes, etc. The staff here have always been a pleasure to deal with. Everybody is so happy! They greet you and want to help you, no matter how crowded and busy it is. It's amazing. TJs must pay them pretty well! LOL. Or they have an awesome applicant screening process... Parking is plentiful since it's in a shopping center. And, the spots are so much bigger than those in Queens shopping centers. You can actually open the car doors and not hit the next car. My wife actually doesn't mind taking her Porsche to go shopping here. LOL. I was told pictures and videos are not allowed. But I had taken a picture of the beer section already. I even asked if they wanted to erase it. And I promised that I wouldn't open a rival market right next to them. They acquiesced. We love TJs. Clearly, this is one of the more awesome grocery stores I have been to. I really like the fact that they not only have the regular purchasing staples but a huge variety of prepared frozen food. This is not only a very convenient store, closely situated to my home, but they're in a great shopping center with plenty of store to compliment this fine establishment. While the parking lot tends to be crowed with lots of cars driving through, I have never had an issue getting spot right by the store. It's a grocery store, lots of in and outs. The store if very big, bright with large enough isles to move through quickly and efficiently. They also have a wonderful friendly team here who will help you when needed. As a specialty super market, I always think that they will be more expensive then the regulars... They are not, and seem to run regular sales on items which make them very competitive. Not being a regular, regular my product knowledge is limited BUT... they have terrific selections of meat, breads and cheeses. I love their selection of frozen dinners (as staled above) and this is really my driving factor of coming back here. Terrific fish, asian foods and just about anything else you can think of. Last time I tried the Mac n' cheese and definitely give it a four star rating. I will continue to ad to this as I try new items. In other words... I need to up my detail. read more

I'm so glad that his Trader Joe's location finally opened. When I arrived the place was still packed but there was someone in the front checking if all customers were wearing masks. There was a good variety of food options that are reasonably priced and even cheaper than some items in the major supermarkets. Dumplings and some frozen foods were less than $3, a dozen large eggs was $1 and dried pasta was less than $1. I can't wait to go back and shop for more items. read more

I recently became a TJ'S Junky when I converted to being Vegetarian and I may never grocery shop anywhere else ever again. The selection here is just out of this world good! This is my favorite location. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, attractive and lines are quick ! I can't stop coming here weekly. I've been to the other locations and won't go back. The variety of fresh produce, American classic and cultural snacks and dishes is one of a kind. I am a nutritionist at heart, so I will stand in the store for over a hour reading labels, searching for sodium and sugar content. TJ'S makes my job easier with organic products low in both. My favorite items here are the : Dark chocolate peanut butter cups Sweet Plaintain chips Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips Guilt Free Guacamole with Greek Yogurt Sausage- less Italian Sausge Kwanzi apples Organic Super fruit Jelly spread Chia and Flax Crunchy Peanut Butter I haven't had anything here that didn't taste AMAZING Can we just talk about the craft beer selection here ? As I was looking to where I could buy something for the holiday table decorations, then I thought of this place - their wreaths, mantle centerpieces, table toppers and others didn't disappoint. Then I browsed for vegan packages for my son who will be home for the holidays - their freezer has various selections just to let you know. There are many unique and one of kind food options at this store. Save your regular kind of food shopping in a regular grocery market in your neighborhood. TJ is always a favorite store. Today I visited The store and purchased holiday truffles. The price was listed at $3.99 in one area and $4.49 in another. The cashier was very apathetic when I mentioned I could not find apple cider. "Okay" I was taken aback because usually I am asked did I find everything I was looking for additionally, I told her I was going back to find it really quickly (as she rang up the rest of my items). I mentioned the price difference to her and again . She asked if I wanted to speak to a manager and called one over. I explained to him the price discrepancy and his response was "thanks for letting us know....that's probably from last year". I asked him to sell me the truffles at the listed $3.99 price and he did not. In my experience when a store makes an error, the price is honored. I was not too happy about my visit today. A woman walked through the food and produce aisle of Trader Joe Forest Hills with a dog underneath her arm, right at the level of the food. I went to complain and one of the staff didn't understand the complaint but the manager intervened. They used to have a person in the front of the store and they still need one.
