I booked my stay for 1 night on their website. The stay and their facilities were fine and as expected. 10 days after my stay I got an email saying that I had stayed for 8 nights and it attached my receipt. I called the hotel and talked to a manager and she refunded my 7 extra nights but was not able to explain why the extra charges occurred. I didn't think much of it and was just happy my card got refunded. 2 weeks later I had $844 charged to my credit card and called again to inquire about it. The front desk person couldn't look into it but said the manager Gina would look into it for me and return my call. She never returned my calls. I called back 2 days later and the same front desk person answered and remembered me and said Gina would be in at 3pm and also gave me her email address. I asked the front desk person to have Gina call me back when she came to work for the day. I also composed an email to her detailing my issues with my confirmation number and asking her for a call back. My email and calls were never returned. I called back 2 days later and a different guy said he could look into it and said he saw a lot of strange charges but didn't understand them. He said he would get with his manager and call me back later that night. He never called back. I called back again and he said it would have to wait for Gina to call me back. I asked for a copy of the charges to emailed to me and he said he would. He never did. I called today to talk to the GM Brad, the front desk person said he was in but not in his office and offered to send me to his voicemail. I was then transferred to his voicemail and it was full and not able to accept new voicemails. I tried calling the front desk back, but the phone rang for 2 minutes and then hung up on me, I tried again and the same thing happened. I waited 10 minutes and tried calling again, but it still rang for 2 minutes and then hung up on me. At this time the issue is still unresolved. read more

Easter brunch at 12:45 was a complete fail for my party of 11. I bet it was good when it opened though at 10:00AM. The food tables wouldn't have been a mess and all the options on the menu would have been available. I bet there may have even been plates! Guys. What on earth? This is a special day and you have been doing this for years! What food there was, was alright. But we couldn't have soup because the heat turned off and it was thick and congealed, we couldn't have a crepe because no one was refilling the whip cream. We couldn't have smoked salmon because there was none. We couldn't have steak because they ran out but left the sign. We could barely have sliced prime rib.. it frequently ran out and when the last one came out it was very rare.. lemonade and tea were not mixed appropriately. Completely laughable. No servers came by to take our drink order. Big opportunity missed. Servers were everywhere but apparently not running the dish washer, and also they were taking our food plates without asking if that person was finished. People! You were open until 2pm. What on earth are you trying to pull here. At 12:45 the soup and crepes were done for. The meat selections were out. What exactly was worth $34.99? We tried this brunch ten years ago and were disappointed. Thought we would try it again. We will never be back. read more

Got yelled at for being in the gym with my daughter (10). The sign says under 14 must be with an adult, the lady didn't care what the sign says. Horrible & mean about it & talked to us like she didn't care about us or our experience. We did nothing wrong & we NOT causing any problems. We were the only ones on the gym!!!! They're under construction still but my check in went very smooth and I stayed in a new king bed room and I must say the new updated room was so fresh and nice compared to the outdated rooms they had before. They have a fun pool area and games for the kids. The staff is very nice and I can't wait for the restaurant to be back open at its regular location as of right now it's setup in one of their conference rooms and serving times varies depending on what they have going on at the hotel. I live in St Cloud and had made a reservation on 3/9/24 to take my grandson and mom for a relaxing night of swimming and dinner at Holiday Inn-St. Cloud. When we got there at around 6pm and checked into our room there was no heat and no power. My gson weighs 34lbs and I wasn't about to take him swimming in the pool then take him back to a very cold room, so I requested a refund knowing we would have to find a different hotel to take him swimming, as already promised. The staff member at the front desk-Corey- was polite and understanding and accommodating under very stressful circumstances for him- I witnessed multiple guest complaints to him while I was there for a few minutes. His hands were tied and his maintenance crew was working on the power issue leaving him understaffed for other maintenance complaints. He kept his cool and apologized and appropriately offered a voucher for me and my family to return the next day to enjoy the pools and a relaxing evening. I was impressed with his composure under a great deal of chaos and left to find a different hotel to take my gson to swim. By the time we found a different location it was 8pm and none of us had eaten but we went straight to the pool before my little guy got too tired to enjoy it. We made the best of it. I called the next morning hoping to salvage the opportunity to go to a bigger pool and take my gson to the arcade at Holiday Inn but the manager on duty refused to honor the voucher that Corey had promised my family, stating that Corey should not have offered it to us because the outage was not the hotel's fault. She was rude and refused to even consider honoring the voucher. I told her that we are local and that we would be repeat business to the hotel and restaurant but she seemed to have zero empathy and acted as though Corey was going to be in trouble for offering the voucher. I told her we would not be back. I believe Corey acted appropriately under the circumstances and held his composure impressively under a very stressful situation- if I were the general manager of that hotel-I would want my staff to behave with class as Corey did when understaffed and juggling multiple guest complaints. In my opinion, this is poor business practice when this other female manger could have chosen to honor her staff members decision rather than chastise him to me and be willing to lose a potential repeat guest by refusing to honor the promised voucher. I did not want to drag my gson around town for an hour looking for a suitable hotel with a pool at 6:30 pm or have to rush to the pool and skip dinner only to end up in a tiny pool and sleeping on a hard mattress after we had a perfectly good hotel reserved- it certainly was not my fault that the power went out after I paid 265.00 for the room- yes-Corey said he gave me a refund which should not charge my card. Super disappointed with how this was handled and would like to be able to take my gson there swimming again but I will not support their business practices! read more

This property obviously caters to young families using the kid zone & pools. It was a zoo on Presidents Day weekend. Noisy, packed & no parking. Housekeeping was clearly overwhelmed, multiple requests for items (toilet paper for room and cups) went unanswered. Request for more towels at pool also went unanswered. Front desk was trying to help but they just seemed to be ignored too. Stayed here because I had points to use...won't stay again. read more

An older hotel building but still good. Parts of the building do show its age, even the "new" wing is 30 years old. I was here with a church youth group event and things went well. The pull out couch in our suite had confetti under it plus some in the mattress as I got the couch ready to sleep. I do have to question how through the cleaning is. The meals provided by the confrence event were good. I was impressed with real plates and silverware for a youth majority event. The desk staff were very nice. They even brought new batteries for the tv remote when we realized it wasn't working. read more

STAY AWAY! We came on a family trip passing by the area, and booked the room based on the attractive online rate. My God-Father worked for IHG at Crowne Plaza MSP, so we have enjoyed many many wonderful stays at IHG properties all over the midwest and beyond. In our experience, IHG has always had an exceptional level of excellence that is the top of the industry, with great real estate and attention to detail. However, Holiday Inn of St. Cloud did not live up to these standards... Upon check-in, the front desk staff looked bored, sad, and one seemed irritated. There was not a manager in front at that time, only three younger workers. The young lady checking us in did not smile at all, and she was very matter-of-fact of all the rules of the place. She did not address me with "Mister" not once, whereas I have never NOT been addressed with "Mister" at any other IHG locations. I was informed that there was not free breakfast, and it did not occur to me that at the $80-120 price point 2-3 star hotels that there existed hotels that don't offer breakfast. It's been our experience that only if you book the "W", Hyatt, Hilton, Crowne Plaza, or Marriott at 4-stars and spend north of $150/night would you be required to pay for bfast. I asked for late check-out, as we always do when I travel with family, and she refused, citing that was because we booked through a 3rd party. We might have to be charged for it. I was totally appalled. That is absolutely unacceptable. This has NEVER happened in all our travels with any IHG hotels, or any other brand for that matter, which is on average monthly between business and pleasure, in hotels from 2-stars to 4-stars. When we got to our room, we were underwhelmed. The standard is 2 queens now, and these were 2 full beds. The upside is that the smaller beds make for a little more space between beds. The privacy curtains do not fully block the light, and the A/C unit smelled moldy. This was going to be a rough night due to our sensitivity to air quality. I walked around the property and was amazed at the breadth of the amenities, which included 3 pool areas with hot tubs, an arcade, a gym, an exercise area, a restaurant, and a full conference area. However, the fit and finish of the real estate is unbelievably dated. We are talking 30-40 years dated. If this was a corporate owned IHG property, they would have torn it down 20 years ago and rebuilt it. Instead, only the lobby, the hallways, and the rooms have been updated. I was simply in shock. I was scared to bring my family into the pool/hot tub because it just all felt old and gross. Bathroom routines in the morning did not go well. Both the sink and the tub had seriously clogged drains. The tub was so bad that after our shower there was enough water in there to take a bath. At this point we were really done, and just had to get out of there ASAP. Driving away, I was just reflecting on how in the world did this happen. How in the world does corporate IHG allow this franchise license to stand and renew? This property is a disgrace to the IHG international brand. read more

The hotel is extremely dated and dirty. My hotel room felt damp and the carpet in it was bunching up in places. The place is in desperate need of a full remodel, not just a coat of paint. No small renovations are going to help. There are signs of sloppy renovations all over the hotel which just makes things look worse. DIRTY. There was mold in our fridge, the bathroom was run down, there was scum/mold on the sides of the pool, murky/nasty hot tub and a stain on our bed sheets. The children's play place is cringe worthy, needs a cleaning or an update. The carpet has been the same for who knows how many years and there is a definite "grandmas house" smell. I was woke up both nights from loud and drunk people outside my room since there is absolutely no sound proofing. The hotel staff does not seem to have hospitality on their mind, it's more of a do it yourself attitude. As a business traveler, this property was disappointing. I requested a nonsmoking room and was told one was guaranteed. Walking down the hall, the smoke was thick. Inside the room it was less palpable but the whole place reeked... and after ten minutes my throat and head hurt. I called down to verify our room was indeed non smoking and was told it was...BUT all of the rooms surrounding it are smoking. ???? Whatever sense that makes. It's smoke! 3 feet does not a non smoking room make. I asked if they had a room available in an area where a whole section was non smoking, and possibly outside facing... because the pool facing rooms are extremely noisy. They told me no at first... but eventually accommodated us. Which is why I gave them a second star. The second room was fine. Quiet-ish, clean, not smokey, dated decor... but a nice tv. No kings available so we had to take a double room. The internet didn't work the whole time. All for $150 a night. We are IHG platinum. We give this hotel chain a LOT of business. I feel we should have been given a street side nonsmoking room one of the first two times I asked. Also, don't expect your room upgrade here. They shut that inquiry down immediately, and repeatedly...despite the fact upgrade rooms are available per the IHG reservation system. If I had been a smoker with kids that wanted easy access to the pool, and didn't mind the sound of shrieking, and pounding feet running the halls...I would have given 4 stars. But I'm not. I'm a business traveler who wants a quiet, clean place to rest for the night, good customer service, and internet. There is no free breakfast like most properties. I could actually list several more inconvenient grievances with the par of service but I think this sums it up well enough. Upon checkout they did reduce our rate when I brought these things to their attention, so I left... not mad. I still wouldn't recommend this hotel. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! I had to call the front desk twice to address minors in rooms without parents, slamming doors so hard the walls shook, congregating in the hall, running up and down the hallways.. I typically would never stay at a place like this but my sister was here for a conference.. It was the worst hotel and I plan on filing a complaint with corporate because the level of management here clearly think it's ok to let minors run there hotel! I don't know what the hell was going on in the middle of winter on a Tuesday, but the place was packed. I had a very nice double queen room on the first floor. The bed was very comfortable. I thought it was cool how the pillow cases were labeled soft and firm, so there would be no surprises. Plenty of light. There is a decent size fridge, but there is a separate freezer on top, which weighs it down and the door pushes into the carpet, making it difficult to open and close. Although they offer a lot of cable choices, they're not all necessarily good ones, and could use more.They should offer a suitcase stand. I liked how the kleenix was right in the bathroom wall saving on space. The lobby is very nice, with some comfortable seating and some really cool lamps. The service was very good. I skipped the restaurant because I wanted to try the local fare. I will stay here again. read more

I stayed @ this location midweek this August with my boyfriend, who was in St. Cloud for a business trip. Walking in ,the hotel is your standard Holiday Inn; perhaps even a little dated. Don't let it fool you. There is much to experience here. The hotel consists of two standard swimming pools, two whirlpools, a kiddie pool, a sauna, arcade games everywhere, two indoor volleyball courts, two basket ball hoops, & a bar & grill. Pluses: The exercise room was ice cold. Awesome for an indoor summer workout! Indoor volleyball courts? How AWESOME! Activities for children on the weekend; face painting, games, & puzzles. On-site restaurant makes for a quick lunch or working dinner. Close to shopping & restaurants (within walking distance). Minuses: We booked a suite & although the room was spacious & very clean, there was no bathtub! Just a teeny-tiny shower & the floor was extremely slippery! Nice bathroom, but what the heck?!?!?!? & although there was a full kitchenette with a giant refrigerator, sink, microwave, & dishes, there was no toaster? Odd.... The hotel itself is a little outdated in its layout & decor. I don't know what rating to give this Holiday Inn. There were a lot of really great attributes & a few questionable ones, so I will just go with 3 stars. :) read more

Absolutely DO NOT stay at this location. It needs to be torn down. I travel a lot and not usually picky about a hotel but this was absolutely unacceptable. Holiday inns are usually up kept well and clean but this place was dirty, smelt very strongly of chlorine, and the front desk was backed up at all times without about 5 to 10 people waiting in line. They attempted to charge me two nights when I DID NOT stay there after checking in and when I proceded to call them and tell them the mistake they were only going to refund me one night. Horrible horrible customer service, I'm so disappointed IHG would allow this hotel be branded under their name. Absolutely not up to par. I was here for two weeks. Ate several times. Tried a few of the menu options. Had a pumpkin spice crusted steak. It was pretty good. Breakfasts were good. Swam in one of the two nice pools. Very clean. Very comfortable. Pool-side can get noisy at night. Good thing for the 11 PM curfew. The lights go out and the people usually head out. There's a nice workout center that overlooks the pool area. There's also a half court basketball court and a volleyball court that are both on carpeted surfaces. There's also a couple of nice hot tubs as well as a sauna. Housekeeping did their job. I'd stay here again. read more

This hotel is so nice! They have 5 pools, an arcade, and the best customer service! We had tonchange hotels due to our other being in such horrible conditions, and they were more than accommodating! We even got a special rate! Vince is the best! Impeccable customer service! He even came to check on us, at our rooms! I am so happy we had this mishap! Only reason for a 4 star is bc they don't have Disney channel. It appears to a family based hotel, and Nickelodeon/cartoon network get adult after a certain time. Bed was comfortable. No, garbage bags in either garbage, bathroom was not very clean and there was an ant crawling on the wall. I think most of this falls on house keeping. Hard to rate this one, I'd like to go less but some things should get more. HUGE playground with rooms, basically that's all it is. Noise level is high, as to be expected. Great place for families and traveling teams. Our room was very big but on the end with 2 large windows. So cold. We like it cold but not frost on the inside cold. Breakfast included for 2. REALLY good but quirky. No toast. Last item on the line was chicken in a cream sauce and first thing on the donut table was a brocoli salad. Weird items for a breakfast buffet. The scrambled eggs were some of the best I've ever had. The "over 16" hot tub area was 100% full of under 16 and not one person said a word. It was very specifically told to us at check in, the 16 and up area would be strictly enforced. Pool area is closed at 11:30, lights go off. Seems a bit dangerous to me, had a hard time packing up everything to leave the area. Would stay again, try to use more of the facilities. read more

The rooms here are gross and clearly barely get touched after a guest checks out. Hair all over the bathroom floor, oatmeal all over the carpet and it didn't look like the bath had been cleaned in weeks. It's clear this is because the staff clearly doesn't care and is probably not held responsible for their jobs because the staff at the front desk clearly hated their jobs or simply the people they were dealing with, but they were just terrible and the "manager" clearly didn't have a passion for her job either and put no focus on customer service at all. I want to give this 1 star but all the pools and activities really are nice, I won't ever step foot in there again, but that stuff was fun. read more

We were in St. Cloud for a family wedding. The bride and groom booked a block of rooms at this hotel... And then stayed at the Marriott themselves, with their immediate family... If this was a review of just the staff, it would be five stars. Everyone from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the waitstaff in the restaurant were exceptionally friendly and did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome. We got a suite, which was about the size of an efficiency apartment. Microwave, large fridge and sink in the kitchenette. The bathroom was on the smaller side, and there was no bathtub only a shower stall! That was really too bad, because we had our boys with us and I was hoping to give them a bath before the wedding. There is another vanity with a sink in the bedroom though, which was nice for doing hair and make-up while The Man was taking a shower. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were clean, and they give you tons of pillows. The suite also has a pullout couch, which we did not use, and reclining armchair which we did. There was enough room for our double stroller, our Pack'n'Play, 2 suitcases, diaper bag, and all our other paraphernalia. The room was adequate, if a little dated. The surfaces were clean- but like another review said- it seemed as if the whole room hadn't been deep cleaned in a while. They allow smoking and pets in certain rooms, but you can faintly smell those odors in all of the rooms. And chlorine. So much chlorine smell! Lots of vending machines with lots of choices and a restaurant on site. Also a Walmart and tons of other stores and restaurants within walking distance. Four different pools and a hot tub. Volleyball court, basketball courts, an arcade and a few table games for families/kiddos. Our room was on the wall that faced the volleyball and basketball courts and it was really loud! Fortunately, the bedroom of the suite had another door that we could close and that really helped muffle the sound. So all in all I gave it three stars. The staff was great, and there were lots of things for families to do there, but for almost $200 a night for our suite, I would have liked a little more quiet, a spotless room, and a bathtub. read more

My family and I stayed there in September 2017 for a birthday party. We stayed in a suite with a pull out bed. When we pulled out the bed, our kids jumped on and were cut by a sharp staple/nail that was sticking out. The manager took pictures of the injuries, filled out an incident report, comped our stay and gave us a free night via gift certificate. We left the gift certificate in a gift bag at the hotel by mistake. We never used the free night, and we are IHG members, so the points/free night should have and could have been easily recorded there. Fast forward to trying to redeem the stay - the representative, Allie, said that we waited too long and that there was nothing in the system that could prove that we didn't already use the stay (we didn't) and when I asked if they could look back at the incident report, she said they don't keep them. A company like IHG/Holiday Inn doesn't keep records like that? Highly unlikely. We asked to speak to a manager, she said there was not one. We then asked to speak to the GM and was transferred to him, who was unavailable, so we called back. Allie then said the supervisor said it was our responsibility to ask for the gift bag to be sent to us and that there was no record of the promise of a free night. She also stated that it's been 2 years and the manager who helped us is no longer with the company. I'm just frustrated at the lack of accountability. read more

This is not only the worst Holiday Inn, but the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I left feeling dirty. To start, the building is hideous, it appears as though it was once a low income housing project, with many enterances. While there is a covered area leading to reception, it is not clearly marked. The inside is old, dark, and dingy. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful but that could not make up for how gross this place was. The room was small, smelly, and damp. The furniture was old, the desk chair looked to be from the 90s and was stained, the chair and ottoman were also stained as were the sheets. The beds were mismatched and either the mattress or mattress topper was lumpy and uneven. When I woke up I felt dirty and was not well rested after being woken up by the ice machine in the hallway throughout the night. Overall, I am horrified that IHG would support this property and seriously wonder if anyone from corporate has been out to see it. I will absolutely never stay at that hotel again and am seriously reconsidering staying at Holiday Inns at all since I now know they can be so hit and miss. read more

The real disappointment was not having free continental and hot breakfast like most Holiday Inn's; you have to order breakfast at the attached restaurant. We have stayed at this Holiday Inn a number of times when our kids were younger and in hockey tournaments. It hasn't changed much in 10 years. The hotel is fine for families with younger kids - the many swimming pools are always a hit as are the games, basketball, and volleyball courts. Last weekend there was face painting and other activities for kids. Pretty cool...if you had kids with you. However, this time we were without children. Our room was dated and just did not seem particularly clean. Don't get me wrong, I am certain it had been cleaned, but it just seemed like it had not been deep cleaned for quite a while. I left my shoes on when I was in our room as the carpet seemed sticky. It worked for a place to stay, but unless you have kids with you, I do not recommend it. read more

We were at the "Holiday Inn" for our anniversary. That the room was not very big, did not annoy us. We arrived just after brunch and had a cake plus champagne with us. The restaurant didn't open until 4 pm, so we got ourselves situated first, and enjoyed to be alone with each other again. By 4 pm we walked to the restaurant. It has the bar in the middle and had only a few patrons showing up. We both ordered beer and the burgers on the photo. For $ 9.00 it was still a decent price and the "Legend" was delicious! The service was fast and friendly. Around 8.30 pm, we felt like taking an extra bite, since we had champagne earlier. This time, we made use of the room service and ordered chicken strips with honey mustard. Not sure, weather we were too late (the restaurant closes at 9 pm!), it was no problem and we got our order! OK. The breakfast is not free, like in some other motels. It may bother some people, but we were content with it! We will visit the Holiday Inn again! read more

Checked in late and found our room facing the pools and kids play area which was open until 11:30pm. The following morning we were awoken by a meeting around the pool with loud microphones, clapping and speakers. Why would you book a conference by the pool at 8:00am on a Saturday morning when your rooms face the pool? Rooms were very ordinary and could use some up dating. Don't think I'd recommend this hotel to future travelers. read more

When we took off the pilow cover there were drool stains and some other unknown marks, the walls were filthy, and the sheet had redish brown stains on them. It seemed like a good place to stay, but for $110 a night, I definitely expected more. I like the pool area, but the spa had lukewarm water in it and three of the jets were spewing out cold water. Reasonable place to stay with goods places to eat within walking distance

This is a kids paradise. We got a suite, felt a little outdated but was clean. If you want quiet then go elsewhere. Lots of kids, lots of pools and spas, volleyball, ping pong table and arcade games. Great release from the winter weather. My six year old passed out every night and immediately after getting in the car. Kids paradise. read more

We'll it looks like the reviews of this hotel are accurate. The staff is very friendly but that's where it ends. Our room was clean but really dated. In fact they don't even have HD tv. I know that sounds a little spoiled but really. No free breakfast and not up to Holiday Inn standards. This is the reason we stay at places like Fairfield's and others like those. Stayed at worse but if you can stay somewhere else. read more
