Nice, clean,modern hotel in a great location. The hotel seems new or recently updated, and is very clean! Check in was a little slow, and the water pressure in the shower despite the large adjustable head, just a little low. Rooms are spacious, and very quiet. Breakfast is your standard hotel fare. Surprised there were several premium channels available to us as well. read more

The pictures from the Holiday Inn website were very misleading! Usually Holiday Inn's (while not fancy - are usually clean and such). Immediately noticed the stains on the walls and carpet in our suite... bed and pillows were comfy - but peeling paint and legs on every table in the room looking as they were about to break - I was very disappointed. The staff was very friendly- but the hotel room itself was not clean... housekeeping didn't clean the room while we were gone all day... again - I wasn't expecting the Ritz, but definitely not up to the normal standards.... UPDATE: I spoke with the manager and they are refunding part of the stay - which I feel was fair. They are also getting ready to remodel so it sounds like some of these issues will be resolved. read more

The cleanliness of this facility was BAD, especially the bathroom. First thing I had to do was take my own Clorox wipes and clean the floor in front of the toilet. Urine drops from previous occupant were never cleaned off the floor. A lot of wall staining next to toilet. Black out shade had holes all over and tape used to keep together. Staining all around the thermostat. Spoke to staff member at front desk who didn't seems overly concerned. Nothing ever done to remedy the situation. While I get we're in a COVID 19 state, the outside of the facility was not maintained at all. Pool water was green, weeds everywhere, not cut, and certainly nothing blown off. Overall, would not recommend. I'm certain I'll see the same response as everyone else, thanks for your comments, we're going to renovate. 5/16 - The response from the staff was "Sorry, we've notified all the appropriate departments". Interesting though, that response is the same response for all POOR reviews on the IHG website. Sadly, nothing changes and improves after they "contact all the appropriate departments". read more

DON'T! I MEAN DON'T!!! Where do I begin!? Had a horrible wet musty and fresh paint strong smell all mixed together, the hallway and rooms are WORN and very dusty on the furniture! The Iron didn't work, the carpets are stained, the bed is HARD! I stay in a lot of hotels while traveling and this one took the cake!!! The online pictures are a facade, not to mention the day Front desk worker. I mentioned some of my concerns and she said, "what's wrong with the room" mind me she allowed me to look at 2-different room (both horrible) had I not purchased from a third party... my family and I would have been out of there! Wife said the room smelled like urine. There was only one light in the bathroom out of three that worked, also the toilet seat was about to fall off. Looked like someone cut their hair in the bed and just basically dirty. read more

We stayed here on the evening of June 17th 2019. Our room smelled overwhelmingly musty. It was damp and humid. No amount of AC or heat would remove the humidity from the room. The musty smell was so bad that it irritated my allergies which of course didn't contribute to my comfort. I can't help but wonder why our room was so damp when other areas of the hotel feel perfectly dry. Regardless of the damp mustiness of the room, the hotel is in good condition and is not unattractive. I can't say that I would rush back here again though. read more

Our vehicle got broke into!!!! The hotel doesn't have camera by their pool. They say it's a liability. After talking to the cops we found out this happens very often at this hotel. Don't stay here!!! Priced way too high. Not worth $110 we paid. Stains on the carpet, smells like mold, dust everywhere, and the barely vacuum. Also it seems that it has been through a few floods and just a bandaid fix. This place needs to be closed! read more

The staff was friendly, however the facility needs to be remodeled. Once you enter the whole building is humid, smells moldy, horrible for people with allergies. The rooms need to be cleaned, including the carpets and walls. The furniture was dusty and the curtains to the window were dirty/stained. My shower had hairs inside the tub. Otherwise, the breakfast in the morning is delicious, however will not be returning any time soon. read more

We were hoodwinked by the hotel's photo gallery. The facility is at least 30 years old. Our room was dank and musty and the odor was overpowering. In our 20 minutes there, I also noticed battered lampshades, a sticky substance on the dusty nightstand, a bug crawling on the bedsheets, and a collection of dead insects in the corner of the bathroom. I gathered our luggage and kindly asked for my reservation to be cancelled. To be fair, the front desk didn't hesitate to refund us and they were very apologetic. We made a reservation at a brand new (2 months old) Holiday Inn just 3 miles away - for $10 more. Much, much better. Look at the attached photos and avoid this moldy old hotel. All the franchisee did was purchase this jalopy and update a few fixtures, but it's not worthy of the Holiday Inn name. read more

This is a horrible hotel. When you first walk in you are greeted by a horrible mold/mildew smell, which is actually throughout the rest of the hotel, to include the room. The chair in the room looked like they might have pulled it out of a dumpster, and the tv remote was disgusting, I don't want to even imagine what was on it. The staff weren't any better. They were rude and completely uninterested in doing their job. The bill was messed up, and it took over a month to get straight. They also charged items to my room from the hotel store, which I did not purchase. I ended up paying just so I could be done with this place. Find a different hotel. read more

Stayed here several years ago while visiting family. It is so sad to see the decline. Upon entering the lobby there is a wet and moldy smell that followed us upstairs to our room. Carpet is stained, blackout curtain torn in several places, poor lighting, and bathroom floor very sticky. This morning when my husband went down for an early coffee, there were 2 men asleep in the breakfast area, who didn't appear to belong there. He mentioned it to the front desk who didn't acknowledge him but did go to roust the sleepers. This is concerning from a security standpoint. Stayed here on a business trip. I didn't arrive until 2am, but the night clerk was waiting for me and had everything ready to go, which was pleasant. This is probably the nicest hotel you'll find without driving to Houston, and to be fair, I liked it. The rooms were good sized, the bed comfortable, and the entire place was impeccably clean. Things I didn't like? No exhaust fan in the restrooms; or rather, no switch for said fan when there's clearly a vent for it in the ceiling. Also, no in-room safe. As a guy who travels with a gun, I want a safe in my room to safely store my weapon. As it was, I had to take it with me everywhere I went. And by gods - THE WATER. Why does all the water in Beaumont smells and taste like sewage? Oh wait. It's Beaumont. Duh. This hotel could make a fortune installing a filter system for the water; when I let the shower steam a bit before making my way in, the entire bathroom had that Eau de Sewage scent lingering over everything. I don't suppose I can really blame that on the hotel though; I noticed the smell pervading everywhere I went in that town. Breakfast in the morning isn't exactly comprehensive, but they had eggs and bacon and sausage gravy, even though I'm sure all of it was from packets and powders, it was passable. They have a pancakes-in-a-minute machine, and assorted baked items and dry cereals. They comped another night because I arrived so late; that was pretty cool of them. I'll definitely book with them again, the next time I have to visit our office in town. read more

Friendly staff for the most part but the facility is gross. Looks and smells grubby from the minute you arrive. Our room had stained carpet, torn curtains, dirty bathroom walls, missing furniture. Only chair in the room was the desk chair. Big empty spot by window with a floor lamp so I assume there was a chair there at some point. The worst part was the damp, sour smell- it seemed embedded in all soft surfaces including pillows and mattresses. Bedding seemed clean so probably not cleaning staff issues but general maintenance issues. None of my IHG platinum member (hahahaha) preferences were met either- early check in not a guarantee ever but requesting to be away from elevator and getting the exact opposite when you check in at 3pm isn't really ok. Isn't have time to change rooms before our event so didn't request. read more

I was a traveler coming from Houston to Beaumont for work training purposes. I was 'living' at this hotel from June to August. Upon check in, they offer complimentary cookies which were very good and soft. My favorite was the Turtle cookies, which was only made like one time since I was there. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. Once the front desk got accustomed to us being there for a while, they started acknowledging us (us as in my co workers and I) by last name. The room I had was a nice size considering my job paid for a room with 2 queen size beds. I'm not sure how often housekeeping wash the bedding sheets because I would have stains on them (that's why I always bring my own bedding). Housekeeping did an ok job at cleaning, they would fold my own bedding and make it nice and neat. Sometimes, they would put up my ironing board. However, one complaint I have about this hotel is the fact I had toilet issues. The handle would always get detached from the rod inside the toilet. I was constantly calling the front desk to send their maintenance to fix my toilet. It was pretty frustrating. But after a while, I learned how to fix the issue. Another complaint is the carpet, I think they need to pull up all the carpet and replace it. Some of the rooms I was in was heavily stained. Not sure how cost effective that is but just a suggestion. On my second to last night, I had a huge HUGE cockroach in my room. It was terrible. I told front desk but they didn't have any spray in the storage room so the security guard had to come in my room to scary the cockroach away, I have no idea where it went. I left a note/message for an exterminator to come and spray the room. The manager, Mary, told me the exterminator wasn't able to come out but made sure my room was sprayed. So in conclusion, I had an good experience here. Ms. Mary, Ms. Gail and Ms. Jerrica were all great staff!! read more

Since we have 4 young kids, we search for hotels by hot breakfast (pancakes or waffles) and hot tub / pool. The pancake machine was out of order. The hot tub was nasty chalky and cold. The pool was completely full of bugs. We just packed up and left early. Such a disappointment. read more

My uncle passed away and I was lucky to stay with my sister at your hotel since he storm filled up all the hotels. After a couple of hours, I suffered from congestion and headaches. I did notice some black stuff on one of the walls. 24 hours after I left the hotel I felt fine. read more

My family and I stayed here on 12/10/11. Love this newly built hotel suite! The decor is modern and beautifully decorated. The hotel photos do no justice to this place. We were told that the hotel is only 2 years old. The lobby area is very small, but the dining area is big. We stayed in a 2 queen and sofabed suite. Spacious, fairly new, clean, and gorgeous room! I love the bar area that includes a sink and mini-fridge. The bar sink is so convenient when the bathroom is in use. The flat-screen TV added a nice touch to the room. We had complimentary breakfast which is convenient for my family. The pancake machine is easy to use. My husband and dad loved the Southern flavor with the biscuit and gravy. My mom called the gravy "congee", and she also said it was good. The front desk service was excellent. We checked in at 10:30pm after driving from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. We didn't have milk for my baby girl, so I asked the front desk if the hotel had milk. The front desk associate went to get milk for me and said it was complimentary! How nice was that! Talk about Southern hospitality! She also gave us directions to a nearby Walmart supercenter. The store was opened 24 hrs. Nice!!! The only drawback about this hotel is that the hotel faces the back side of a big store. View is not great, but location is convenient. The freeway, mall, Marshall, Ross, Walmart, and many other stores and restaurants are nearby. I will consider booking at another Holiday Inn Express for the complimentary breakfast, room rates, and nice decor. There are so many of them located in Texas and Louisiana. read more

Beautiful room very stylish more like a 4 or 5 star room than a 3. Modern and well appointed. The location and price were excellent. Best feature: Very Quiet!! There were 3 (that's right 3) high school reunions going on downstairs and I did not hear a sound, not even a toilet flush or loud TV. Hot water, Comfortable bed, cold air, and clean room. My first observation driving onto the site was a bit luck laster. Trash could easily be found between the hotel and the nearby academy, and the outside of the hotel could have been power washed. As I walked into the hotel I was greeted with a smell of musty carpet, but the check process was great with good personnel. A night went by and I started noticing a red marks on my body. I didn't think much about it. The second night went by I started itching all over, but exhaustion won and I slept. The next morning at work I spent the day scratching my self. That night I came in I was dedicated to see what was going. Come to find out the bed I was sleeping in was full of flees, critters, and couple red stains on the bed even on the side I was not sleeping on. I went to the front desk to see what could be done but the hotel was booked! I could not see myself staying out in the truck so I asked for pull out bed and sheets to wrap myself in knowing the room was full of something. We were in town opening a new restaurant "Crazy Cajun" and needed 7 rooms. They were all clean and comfortable.

I stayed here for work a couple of months ago and I will definitely not be returning. As another reviewer commented, the property is in bad shape. The whole place had a musty, moldy odor, but worse, my room smelled like urine. I didn't notice it until I was getting in bed to go to sleep, and of course at that point I was not going to repack all my stuff and trudge down the front desk to request a room change. It was, in a word, gross, but they have been through some bad storms in the last year and it is hard to keep anything on the gulf coast fresh, so despite this, I was going to give them a pass, assuming they were still recovering. However, what made me upset enough to write this review is the fact that they signed me up for a rewards program without my permission and it has taken me months to get off of the various call and email lists (I highly doubt the solicitations are going to stop even now). What is frustrating is that I distinctly remember the nice lady at the front desk asking me if I wanted to sign up when I checked in, and I politely declined, but she signed me up anyway!!! I knew because by the time I made it up to my room I had an email saying "Welcome to IHG Rewards Club". Then the telemarketing calls started. Sooo, irritating and a total breach of privacy, security and customer trust. So, my advice, go somewhere else, and if you don't have a choice, don't make a reservation online and don't give them your email or phone number if you don't want a bunch of harassing emails and calls. read more

Hotel needs to be renovated. Handles broken on dressers, wall fixtures coming off walls. Stains on walls. And very rude staff. On top of that they double billed my credit card and tried to blame me. The breakfast is free, but do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. read more
