    Waterpark fun
    Devon H.

Such a great place for a family fun weekend. Waterpark is 10/10, breakfast 10/10, Arcade is pretty minimal but for the ages of our kids, it was great and we had fun. The rooms are clean and staff is friendly. "Secret" room has a fun treehouse for kids. Such a great experience! We will be back for sure.

We HAD been coming to this Holiday Inn every summer for the last 3 years but this year will probably be our last. This years stay it was pretty evident that something has either changed with how the hotel is operated because it has fell into great disrepair. Numerous things were dirty , broken and / or out of order . The water park had many of the problems. The main water slide was closed as it was apparently broken for weeks per the workers. The water park only had a few of the tubes needed to go down the large slide, when asked why they didn't have many tubes for people to use the workers said " we are out of tubes". I went to ask for the manager at the front desk and the front desk attendant said he "knew for a fact they have more tubes and he will get someone to bring more to the water park". But after two hours we knew we weren't going to get more. We ended up taking a few pictures of the disrepair. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Drove 2 hours with a van full of kids to use the water park. Website calendar said hours were 10am-10pm. We show up at 1pm. They inform us it's a typo and they open at 4pm. Completely didn't give a shit just said "ok". Was gonna wait cause the kids are disappointed but I don't want to give these douche bags any money. Learn how to run your website, it's 2018. Also learn how to have customer service and if you mess up don't be stand offish at your customer base. I wouldn't stay here. Attached a copy of their calendar. The date was November 21

Checked in on a 1pm Friday right before a nasty storm rolled through. The guest check in parking has alot of room but the entrance doors could be bigger. Parking won't be a problem here if you have a trailer. The staff was courteous and told me that my room was not ready and we could go enjoy the water park ahead of time and will contact us ASAP when the room was ready. Since I was a Platinum Elite member or room got pushed to the top of the priority list, awesome. The water park is nice. It had everything for all ages, kiddie area/cub tub, slides, lazy river, basketball/exercise pool, hot tub. I believe that all pools were temperature controlled which is a plus! Heated when needed and cooled when needed. There are life guards and pool aides at all pool side. The bar and grill is also poolside if you want to get a burger/fries and a cold one. An hour passes and our room was ready. Third floor, I say skip the elevator(really slow). The room was huge and comfortable enough for 2 adults, a teen and two younger children. The ac unit is one of the quietest I've heard and I travel alot! Newer big screen tv. The beds were comfortable, Holiday Inn never fails on their beds. Attractions that I've went to while visiting the area? B.I.R.(Brainerd International Raceway) right up the road from this hotel, great for watching the drags/road course. Northland Kart Kountry, fun and games(for all ages) for the kids. Also right up the road from this hotel, before pirates cove on the right side. You gotta eat at the Boulder Tap House right across the hotel, the food there is great and not over priced. Cheap beer/chicken wings/cheese curds/burgers/sandwiches yum! Lots of beautiful beaches and lakes in the area top visit. Love MN!

Yummy lunch. Waffle fries and a big healthy salad.

S., in a salute to other less enthusiastic reviewers, yes, few waterpark towels and indeed the kids tear the place up.

I read the reviews prior to booking and I'm quite surprised more haven't given rave reviews. Here's…read morethe reasoning as to why I put this place at 5 stars. Upon booking, I received a personal email of staff reaching out to make sure I noted waterpark hours. What a great touch! When we arrived the front desk staff was very friendly and the room was nice and clean. I enjoyed my sleep in the king size bed and thought it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in recently. I also enjoyed the fact that they have a fridge and microwave. The waterpark happened to be open around the time we arrived so we made our way down to explore. Unfortunately we had a freak accident happen and my kiddo needed a trip to the ER. I was hands down impressed with how great the lifeguard, Kaya, on staff was. She came over right away and made sure things were handled well and guided me when I might not have been thinking in the most proper way. I'm still blown away at how calm and caring she was. I'm really hoping staff sees this review as well and gives her the praise that she should have! Even with the incident, we really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back another time when we can fully enjoy it all! Tip: they even have a small arcade for the kiddos on floor #2. Perfect size for kids to check-out! Comfy beds, nice rooms, breakfast each morning, a nice renovated and beautiful waterpark, all close to so many restaurants and stores. This place is great! Thank you for a memorable stay- we're hoping to come back and do it right the next time!

This review will be cursory as I've gone through several medical emergencies since checking out,…read morebut I'm writing this quickly now because I feel it's important for both the employees at Baymont as well as future guests that are disabled. I've stayed collectively several weeks at Baymont this year. I really enjoyed the hotel, the professionalism of the staff. And I had a nice relationship with the manager, Nicole, who inspired me to use the hotel as a home base while working on various digital nomad projects. Nicole was the perfect blend of warmth and corporate expertise. Maybe corporate can figure out the backstory. I won't get into it here, but clearly something was going on. I needed to extend my booking at one point, but was told I needed to change rooms the following week, if I were to do that, because there was limited space. Of course, I didn't have a problem with this and agreed, and was told I was going to be moved the following Friday. The next Thursday arrived with me getting knocks on my door from housekeeping asking me when I'm going to leave, and passing me the phone with Rachel on it. She was aggressively demanding to know what was going on. I could hear her yelling through the receiver at the housekeepers before the phone even made it to my ear. She was yelling so hard that I could barely speak at first, then demanded I get out of the room ASAP with the two housekeepers watching as I packed like I was on the Titanic. Again, I'm disabled. Even packing is difficult for me. And just as I was finishing up, the housekeeper passed me the phone again and she says, good news, you can stay one more night, but I need you out by 8 or 9 a.m. tomorrow morning at the latest. Doesn't that sound good to you? I told her that it didn't sound good, that I'd already packed up my room, and if I'd done so, I'd just as soon go to whatever room I had to go to then to save me the trouble of unpacking and then packing again the next day. This clearly infuriated her. She acquiesced and gave me a horrible, dark, dank room on the bottom floor that I'm sure nobody wants, as some sort of weird retaliation. Then I could hear her yelling at the housekeepers to go in and clean the room right after telling them that they could go home because I was staying. I had to listen to the housekeeper talk to her poor family and let them know she wouldn't be coming home and be late. There was just no reason for it. She was angry at me and she was angry at the housekeepers for literally no reason. There were plenty of rooms available for any guests that would come in that night. And if housekeeping could afford to not clean my room that night, she should have just let the housekeepers go home as planned. I have a severe autoimmune condition where if I come into contact with the wrong environment I can have a seizure or lose the use of my left leg. It's very scary. The room that she sent me to had mold or something in it and I immediately had a blazing headache. Robert at the front desk was incredibly kind and professional and allowed me to switch to a room that didn't impact me like that. He, as well as the other staff, had been very kind and changed me to a room that was better. But it still wasn't great. After a very short period, I started getting cardiac arrhythmias in it. I got smells of the sewer coming up through the drain in the bathroom. And realized that was what was setting my cardiac condition off. And within a few days, I needed a change from that room too. I'm only saying this because, again, I had spent several weeks at the hotel. I never asked for one thing. I was quiet and did nothing but pay my bill. These are the only two times when I ever asked for anything. Finally... When it was time to check out, I had a problem with my rental car and asked if I could extend one more day and was told that the hotel was fully booked. But this was a Sunday, and I know there was plenty of spaces, and that they weren't fully booked. My family used to work in the hotel industry. I know that this is code for someone who has been blacklisted from the hotel. Despite spending several weeks there, and several thousand dollars, and never so much as asking for a single room cleaning, I--along with the staff--was spoken to and treated like a dog. Sensing that there was something different about me and my medical condition, she singled me out. It was inhumane and creepy. I'm really concerned about disabled people in the future as well as the staff. I've worked in hostile environments before, and this clearly seems like one to me. In only the first three months of the year, three very sweet staff members announced that they were quitting.
