I've stayed collectively several weeks at Baymont this year. I really enjoyed the hotel, the professionalism of the staff. And I had a nice relationship with the manager, Nicole, who inspired me to use the hotel as a home base while working on various digital nomad projects. Nicole was the perfect blend of warmth and corporate expertise. Maybe corporate can figure out the backstory. I won't get into it here, but clearly something was going on. I needed to extend my booking at one point, but was told I needed to change rooms the following week, if I were to do that, because there was limited space. Of course, I didn't have a problem with this and agreed, and was told I was going to be moved the following Friday. The next Thursday arrived with me getting knocks on my door from housekeeping asking me when I'm going to leave, and passing me the phone with Rachel on it. She was aggressively demanding to know what was going on. I could hear her yelling through the receiver at the housekeepers before the phone even made it to my ear. She was yelling so hard that I could barely speak at first, then demanded I get out of the room ASAP with the two housekeepers watching as I packed like I was on the Titanic. Again, I'm disabled. Even packing is difficult for me. And just as I was finishing up, the housekeeper passed me the phone again and she says, good news, you can stay one more night, but I need you out by 8 or 9 a.m. tomorrow morning at the latest. Doesn't that sound good to you? I told her that it didn't sound good, that I'd already packed up my room, and if I'd done so, I'd just as soon go to whatever room I had to go to then to save me the trouble of unpacking and then packing again the next day. This clearly infuriated her. She acquiesced and gave me a horrible, dark, dank room on the bottom floor that I'm sure nobody wants, as some sort of weird retaliation. Then I could hear her yelling at the housekeepers to go in and clean the room right after telling them that they could go home because I was staying. I had to listen to the housekeeper talk to her poor family and let them know she wouldn't be coming home and be late. There was just no reason for it. She was angry at me and she was angry at the housekeepers for literally no reason. There were plenty of rooms available for any guests that would come in that night. And if housekeeping could afford to not clean my room that night, she should have just let the housekeepers go home as planned. I have a severe autoimmune condition where if I come into contact with the wrong environment I can have a seizure or lose the use of my left leg. It's very scary. The room that she sent me to had mold or something in it and I immediately had a blazing headache. Robert at the front desk was incredibly kind and professional and allowed me to switch to a room that didn't impact me like that. He, as well as the other staff, had been very kind and changed me to a room that was better. But it still wasn't great. After a very short period, I started getting cardiac arrhythmias in it. I got smells of the sewer coming up through the drain in the bathroom. And realized that was what was setting my cardiac condition off. And within a few days, I needed a change from that room too. I'm only saying this because, again, I had spent several weeks at the hotel. I never asked for one thing. I was quiet and did nothing but pay my bill. These are the only two times when I ever asked for anything. Finally... When it was time to check out, I had a problem with my rental car and asked if I could extend one more day and was told that the hotel was fully booked. But this was a Sunday, and I know there was plenty of spaces, and that they weren't fully booked. My family used to work in the hotel industry. I know that this is code for someone who has been blacklisted from the hotel. Despite spending several weeks there, and several thousand dollars, and never so much as asking for a single room cleaning, I--along with the staff--was spoken to and treated like a dog. Sensing that there was something different about me and my medical condition, she singled me out. It was inhumane and creepy. I'm really concerned about disabled people in the future as well as the staff. I've worked in hostile environments before, and this clearly seems like one to me. In only the first three months of the year, three very sweet staff members announced that they were quitting.

Very clean, king bed, updated bathroom, back porch, and a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, and sink. We walked to explore around the different areas of Maddens, and the grounds are beautiful! There are tons of activities including a pool, fitness center, tennis courts, croquet, paddle boarding, ice cream shop, gift shop, golf courses etc. The staff working at all of these locations were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We golfed The Classic, which was awesome as well. Maddens also offers a few different restaurants which have great food. I came here on a work trip so I can't speak to the price/cost of the stay, but I do think this place has a ton to offer for a wide range of ages.

We had around 15 people and all fit comfortably, had 2 fridges, like 4 bathrooms, and everything we needed! I loved all of the activities and options at the main resort such as the chocolate ox (they have jelly cats!!!) or the tshirts/sweaters in the store. The resort itself was great, with complementary pontoon rides & banana boat rides too. The cantina was awesome for their slushies or mexican food to eat on the beach! The shuttle was AWESOME to bring you all over! A few things: the beach was pretty gross at the time we were there... with weeds everywhere. We also didnt really have anywhere to park at our cabin, so that was a bit tough.. but maybe if you park & shuttle it'd be ok too?? Overall, I need to explore even more of the resort & I cant wait to come back!

The past policy was in order to rebook the same cabin you had to call within a certain window to schedule for the following year. This year I called to book the same cabin, however I was told our cabin was already booked due to a 7 year calendar adjustment! The family who rented our cabin the week before now could book our 4th weekend due to the switch! Our family got moved out a week (week after the 4th) but could rent the same cabin! Frustrating since the reason we stay at GV are for all of the 4th activities! Reservations ended up booking us a different cabin instead of a 3 bedroom 3 bath it was a two bedroom the same price as our original cabin (with 3 bedrooms). We ended up canceling the whole thing!

The value for the cost per night is not as good as it could be. Rooms are small, beds in ours felt like a hide-a-bed with the single mattress and metal frame. Bathroom was functional but really small. Our window air conditioner did not work the first night and there was no one available to assist us until the next day. They did get it fixed but the first night was hot and humid. I would probably seek different accommodations if we were in the area again.

North Long Lake is very clean and typically not too busy for tubing. This year the 2 kayaks and paddle boards are free to use. Indoor pool is nice as well as the game/activity area off of the office. This was our 7th summer and planning many more with our kids and grandkids, we also take a second trip up in September to ride four wheelers in the area. It was our 44th wedding anniversary where we would typically fly off to the warmth, ocean sounds and spend a ton of money. We thought this year we would try something more local and totally different. We reserved a cabin at Sullivans Resort with Danielle's help. When we arrived, we were surprised at how nice the cabins and campground were laid out. Well kept, newly painted, interior was rustic/earthy decor, updated kitchen and bathroom and extremely clean. Our cabin was facing the beautiful lake with the breeze coming through our bedroom, it was perfect! The best part was sitting out on the couples swing at the beach with a bottle of champagne, a cozy blanket, soft music, cool breeze and the lights shining on the lake. So Peaceful!!! This is the best cabin experience I've ever had. For several years my sister and her family have…read morebeen coming back to Cozy Bay Resort. I've started to join them about three years ago. This has become my favorite week of the year. Cozy Bay is a wonderful resort that revolves around the lake. The cabin itself has full kitchen, ac, tv(that we try hard to not turn on), bedding, fireplace, multiple plugs and all the kitchen utensils. Our cabin was about 10-15 yards away from the lake. We bring our boat every year but, this year, we rented a pontoon from cozy bay. The dock we use is new and again, 10-15 yards away from my front door. There is a clean swimming area for kids(and adults).There is no pool, no bar, no room service. Yet the host will check to make sure things stay clean and make sure all is well. Suzette and Brett are wonderful host. Great people, they really are welcoming, I get the feeling they greet their own family the same way. This place is beautiful! Breath taking views, quiet lake. I always feel the kids are safe to do as they please. There is clubhouse with a small store where kids can buy ice cream, play ping pong or foosball. Cozy bay also have kayaks and canoes to use, this year Cozy Bay added a paddle board! I'm from California and this was my first Stand Up Paddlboard experience! Nothing is fixed, nothing is repaired, and every time we come it falls more This place is a Timeshare Resort of absolute GREED! The hot tubs in the units are completely broken and UN-Usable! This was the very reason we wanted to own a timeshare to have our own hot tub but it's been broken every time we have come for years and now it is completely useless and empty with no water in it! The exact same couch in the living room is the same couch that has been there for over 25 years! The cushions literally sink into the couch when you sit on it! These couches belong in the corner outside with a FREE sign on them for the Squirrels to make a nest out of them! Oh and if you want to sit outside on the porch swing and chairs? Those are gone too! They were replaced by $Dollar Store chairs! So if you want to come for vacation and have zero place to comfortable sit...this is your place! It was 85 degrees out in September and the outdoor pool AND hot tub were closed for absolutely zero reason! It is usually open when we come in September! But NO not anymore! The washer and dryer were out of use! The tiny dollhouse size cups and glasses and old non working kitchen utensils are less than Good Will value. Talk about a DUMP!!!! I am LIVID!!!!!!!!!!! Do NOT stay here!!!! A tent is more comfortable or just stay home!

We were lucky enough to score a unit facing Gull Lake and the forest. The views were the absolute highlight staying here. But taking away a star for several reasons: 1. Both beds could use replacement. They were saggy soft, uncomfortable and challenging to get a good night's rest. 2. All in unit whirlpools were down due to plumbing issues/violations. We were so looking forward to it and bummed out to learn this. 3. We were told our unit would have washer and dryer at time of booking. However, our unit didn't have one at check in and we were told there was no other unit available to swap. 4. We found 6 mouse traps in the unit. Not the greatest thing to see or realize there was a rodent problem. 5. The pool is in a separate building from the sauna. Not even next door. Doesn't make for a convenient walk if you're wanting to enjoy both. 6. Only 1 parking spot per unit. However, we saw numerous units parking in non-designated spots so we followed along.
