Definitely not the standard I expect from Holiday Inn Express. The poor desk clerk while very nice was completely overwhelmed with the tasks. I felt bad but she spent 20 mins checking in 1 guest. There were three of us there so you can do the math. If you are an IHG rewards person don't expect to be treated like Hilton or Marriott do at Gold or Platinum. It ain't happening here. At least not today. Internet was spotty on third floor and only 1 device ended up connecting and staying the others not do much! The bedside alarm clock was also a mess not set to the right time and despite following the reset instructions - no joy. The room was clean and functional. The AC doesn't have an all on fan mode (for white noise which you all know is a strategy I use to drown out noisy hotel rooms) so all the traffic noise from the main road and the wind are right there with ya! Hope things improve for sure. read more

So I am not happy. I have stayed at quite a few of the rural Holiday Inn Expresses in New Mexico. So I have a very good idea of what to expect. Did not get that this time. I came into the lobby around 530pm. There were already 3 people in line and two ladies behind the desk. One lady did not say a word and just left. Leaving the one lady to handle the line. Within 5 minutes there were 5 people in line. Now I was already dealing with screaming back pain and just wanted to get into my room. So when they put me into a room on the first floor when my online reservation specifically said not first floor I let it go. I literally just went into the room turned on the ac and climbed into bed. Later when I got up to use the bathroom I find urine stains on the floor and mold on the bathtub. So far this has not been a pleasant stay. read more

You wont find a bar, restaurant or outdoor pool. But what you will find is free snacks during various hours, free breakfast in an inviting dining area, a small yet efficient work out room, a hot tub and pool and free WiFi. This hotel appears to be fairly new and one of the nicer hotels in Clovis. I stayed here on a business trip and chose this hotel because of it's location, literally walking distance from the customer's office. The rooms are nice sized equipped with a flat screen, fridge and microwave. More importantly the bed is very comfortable with an ample amount of plush pillows. read more

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Clovis, NM, and this property is probably the nicest stay in Clovis. They had some abnormal St Partrick's Day issues that were not their fault that affected the operations, like puke in the hot tub, but maintenance was on it, drained the tub, and got it back in a sanitary operation as quickly as possible. The pool was nice and warm and a terrific experience. The floor in the elevators needs to be replaced, as moisture has delaminated it, and it is rough and looks unappealing. The staff was very nice, rooms clean and all typically the standard of Holiday Inn Express Hotels. The Housekeeping staff were also very friendly, and took good care of me. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and will stay here anytime I am in the area. read more

I stay here as often as I can when I'm in Clovis. It's clean and comfortable. You have a fridge and microwave in your room. The biggest plus, however, is that it's one of the VERY few hotels that is not right next to the dang railroad!!! Good luck sleeping at all at the Hampton Inn. I'm speaking from experience. The breakfast isn't great, or maybe I'm just over the whole hotel breakfast thing since I travel so much for work. If you can, go to Coffee Bistro down the street for amazing coffee and food! read more

Great spot for travelers. Large well lit parking lot, indoor pool, business center, included breakfast, small fitness center, convenience items/foods for sale, fridge, microwave, and coffee pot in the room. It's always clean, housekeeping is clearly well trained and thorough. The front desk staff is very friendly, however there isn't always someone at the front desk. This can be difficult when you're checking in and seriously we all have to use the bathroom after a long road trip right.... Just in case the desk attendant isn't at the front desk, the bathrooms are through the lobby, turn left, and go just past the elevators. I really like the Holiday Inn Express and will likely stay again! The rates are a bit on the high side for this community, I think about 90$ is average for Clovis but the Holiday Inn Express charges closer to $120-$140. Is it worth it? For me it is as a woman traveling alone. I always feel safe here. read more

Those two stars are earned almost exclusively by the incredibly comfortable bed, which I suppose is the primary thing I'm renting here. The internet speed is pretty decent, too. But when I'm not in the bed or on the net, everything about this place annoys me. I am in a constant battle with the air conditioner. I finally got it to stop rattling loudly by perching a chair on top of it, but the thermostat joined the fight -- when I set it to 70, it blasts me with frigid air until I can't feel my nose; when I set it to 71, it turns the HEAT on. I finally think I get it settled on a happy coolness, but I'm awakened at 3 or 4am because it's trying to heat me up again (which makes the vibration so bad even the chair can't shut it up -- go figure). Tired and annoyingly warm (or freezing), I get up in the morning and attempt to make coffee, but unfortunately the coffeemaker is one of those single-cup jobbies, and it's wretched. I bring my own coffee and basket filters on travel for precisely this reason, but that doesn't do much good when there's not a proper coffee pot. I take my watery coffee to my "desk" to check work email, but really I'm crowding my laptop, coffee, and papers onto a little 2-top table set in the corner where a proper desk should be, like some grad student at Starbucks. The TV doesn't get CNN so I'm forced to suffer the inanity of Headline News or the bullcrap of Fox. Flush the toilet again because it didn't take the first time. I go downstairs (wait -- stop to pick up the Do Not Disturb door hanger, which falls off the door every. single. time. because what they really need is the kind that goes in your key-card slot) to find lime-green bananas as the fruit offering at breakfast. I grab a packet of oatmeal and a styrofoam bowl to take back up to my room for later -- but later is no good, because even though I have a microwave, I have no way of microwaving water: all I'm given is styrofoam coffee cups and plastic water cups. There ain't a microwave-safe container in the joint (apparently Clovis transients can't be trusted with such things). This injury is compounded at night by the insult of having to drink your after-work bourbon out of plastic. God help me. This is NOT a place for business travelers on long TDY. But if you're just passing through and need a super comfy nap, drop on by -- just remember to put a chair on the air conditioner. read more

I have stayed here a few times whilst travelling for work. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the hotel is in a relatively convenient location for restaurants nearby. The breakfast is decent - it is the usual Holiday Inn Express fare. I usually stay at the Fairfield Inn just South of this hotel, but if they don't have any rooms available then I would stay here. read more

For Clovis, NM, this is 5 star and THE place to stay. This is a new Holiday Inn Express, so everything smells clean and is neat. The staff was very helpful and gave us a great rate (matched my online search). Glad we checked yelp first. Not on the beaten path, but still it's Clovis, so nothing is too far off! Nearby restaurants, CLEAN, nice pool and hot-tub, small, but clean workout room, nice business center, free Wifi and very nice hot breakfast. read more

We stayed here January 2017 for four (4) nights and couldn't have been happier. The front desk staff was super nice and helpful and totally accommodating. We were given a room on the first floor when we arrived and I'm not a first floor fan. I asked if they would be able to give us a different room and they did so right away. The room was extremely clean and I'm very fussy. My husband renovates hotels so he is very very picky and he was very pleased as well. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Breakfast was standard fare for a hotel, nothing fancy, but we didn't feel the need to go anywhere else. The dining area was very nice and comfortable. Coffee was free flowing and welcomed as we were on a whirlwind trip. We didn't get to use the pool but we did check it out and it was clean and looked inviting. The parking lot was large and well lit and the location was perfect as it wasn't near the railroad tracks so we didn't have to deal with the noise from the trains. We were able to get a good nights sleep every night. We would certainly stay there if we come back to Clovis again! I highly recommend this hotel. read more

Comfy beds & spacious rooms. Clean and well kept. Staff are friendly & helpful. Standard Holiday Inn Express. No bar but Indoor pool (clean) and moderately equipped gym. Guest laundry services too. Only two negative points - I'd like to see more fresh fruit at breakfast and there's an broken cord on the weights machine in the gym. read more

I'm a member of the Holiday Inn Express frequent users club and I gotta say this hotel did not live up to my usual HIE experience. It was more expensive than most, reluctant to give me a senior discount and the breakfast was poorly managed and presented (waffle machine broken, omelettes hard and cardboard-like, trash overflowing). The staff was super nice! However we were put in a room with a leaky ceiling next to the window (they recently had a storm so it's understandable). We brought it up to staff and they apologized but did not move us or offer any sort of discount. It wasn't the worst but it wasn't that great. I would highly recommend asking to see your room and avoiding the third floor until they make the necessary repairs. read more

We pulled in and immediately had an issue with our reservation that was NOT the hotels fault. Luckily the Manager was still at the property and took care of us way beyond what was required. The room was great, the bathroom counter made me want one in my own house, and the Holiday Inn standard shower head was awesome as always. Check in was disaster. First --- girl couldn't find reservation. We had code and print, but it still didn't seem to be findable. Then we went up to room and the key didn't work. Back to front desk --- new keys --- go to room and it is ALREADY occupied (with a couple of parents doing what parents do in hotels) OMG. Back to front desk #2 --- now put in upgraded room --- which we didn't ask for or need. Get there --- and there is funny smell. About 10 mins in -- we open what we think is area for mini refrg, etc. but to our disgust a cabinet with a FULL BAG OF SOILED DIAPERS --- thus the smell. Diapers to front desk. It is now about 1 am and I've had no sleep and a meeting at 6 am. Beds ok. Room ok. Very loud on Fri/Sat. No sound proofing. Lots of construction workers use this as their layup site. Nice breakfast with plenty of healthy options. Parking good. Hotel is new --- but needs more hands on management for cleaning, check ins and the like. Update: Place contacted me and said I have wrong location. NOPE I have right location --- it CLOVIS folks.....and your hotel has all the issues above. Check your records. I was there -- and gave the bag of dirty diapers to a brunette, about 5'5", heavy set, on that evening. read more

We have stayed at this hotel many times and have had great experiences. But this last time we stayed we got bedbugs. We called the manager and she didn't really seemed to believe us. But she said she would call and exterminater in to check it out. We got a call and she said they found nothing and asked if we wanted the report. Not once did she try to accommodate us in anyway for this knowing we have stayed many times and are high members in the hotel rewards club. But that's fine. Excellent customer service, and friendly staff. During this time around, I arrived in town earlier than planned and was able to check in early. The rooms are always clean and the fitness room is open 24 hours. Continental breakfast is always fresh and smells wonderful. (I usually just eat friut in the morning). I've stayed in several places in Clovis and this is the most comfortable and quiet one by far. read more

Recently came back to Clovis for a funeral and needed multiple rooms to house family coming in from all over the country. The manager at the Holiday Inn could not have been more accommodating. Check-in was a breeze, and hand written sympathy cards awaited us in our rooms. Little touches like this were completely unexpected and thoroughly appreciated. We were able to use the downstairs breakfast area to convene and have meals as a family. The rooms were clean, the staff was beyond friendly, and the hotel is new and wonderfully maintained. I will not stay anywhere else during future trips. Thank you! read more

Very nice, new hotel, by far the nicest hotel stay I've had in Clovis. The bed was incredibly comfortable - even more comfortable than my own Tempurpedic at home. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety on the two mornings I stayed. The front desk clerks were super friendly and helpful. Wifi was also nice & speedy. Not sure I would give it 4 because of price but then again they beat the pants off the Courtyards I've been in (short of lack of bar and place to eat). This hotel was relatively new and way larger than what I was looking for. The room was more like a suite (huuuuuge). Granite, sink in bathroom and outside. Ice machines in a locked room (good for those near the elevators). Snacks at entrance and complementary breakfast (left too early to try out, but standard scrambled, bread stuff, cereal, some fruit, etc..) Price wasn't as low as I would have expected, but then again, the hotel was more than I would have expected from an HIE (been a loong time since the last time I tried a HIE and vowed to never go back given a better option). Don't hesitate to stay here is the price is within your objectives...but realize the prices will be more like courtyard or fairfield inn or hilton garden inn. Chicago area HIE was definitely cheaper than the two others! read more

HORRIBLE TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE...Frig died so my son's insulin got warm (1080$ boxes worth); a box of syringes were STOLEN; the bathroom flooded out and the FINAL BLOW...in a freak accident my son FELL IN THE ROOM AND BROKE HIS ARM. We immediately went to Amarillo after being splinted and dosed with strong meds at the local ER. He is eleven and we were up ALL NIGHT for him to have surgery. It's not over yet either as now we have to follow up with Ortho for the possibility of MORE surgery. My husband packed us out of that HORRIBLE HOTEL HORROR while we were in the hospital. NO WAY GOING BACK TO THAT SHITHOLE OF A HOTEL. I will spread the word to the military community of this horrible, traumatic experience. This was in the middle of a big PCS/move. THANK YOU FOR OUR LAST MEMORIES IN CLOVIS. This occurred July 19, 2018. read more
