I'm unsure of the prices, as I'm staying for work but the amenities seem pretty good for the price, the parking lot is large and offers room for any person bob-tailing. It's next to a Verizon, half a block from an amazing Mexican restaurant, in front of a Walmart, and Goodwill. I don't see how anyone could be unhappy with all of that at your fingertips. The rooms are clean, spacious, maintained (for the most part. I have crumbling and broken tile in the bathroom, some full tiles have popped up) decently, there are no erroneous hairs, no dust, the AC/HEAT works wonderfully and the front desk staff was very friendly. The only thing missing is a decent view. Would stay here again.

The Christmas decorations in town and the small town atmosphere made this a really nice weekend getaway. Cons: 25 stairs to get up to rooms so only book if you're physically able to do so. No street parking between 2-6am so we had to attempt to find parking in a very crowded lot (lots of events going on around us) or would have had to go out late at night to move the car to parking. There is zero noise buffer between rooms, so laughing, talking, farting, toilet habits, coughing... you get the idea. Will all be heard. I heard multiple showers go on in the am, multiple toilet flushes. It was a decent alarm clock but started around 5-5:30A. The lobby is run down, and the man who runs the property stays in a room to the side. He tried to have my (new) co-worker pay for his already work provided room when I walked away (thinking he wouldn't know any better, but we had talked about it earlier in the day.) When I came back the man looked at me like he'd been caught when I walked in on the middle of the conversation. Luckily my co-worker told him no. There is blood on the wall in the back hallway, shmutz on the wall in the rooms, halls, and bathroom walls. It's gross. If you are with your family, this is a LAST resort. I promise you. If you want to do something shady, I think this would be the best place in town. Plus one star from 0 for truck parking in the back lot of the property.

We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too! Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy. We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking.  In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard.  We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. We highly recommend the Inn at Battle Creek!

Not only was it extremely well-priced, our room was spotless, large, brightly lit, and well-stocked with bath linens that were fluffy, not threadbare! A couple of offerings that we didn't use, but might be of interest to others included a business center and a snack bar that also offered beer and wine. Breakfast was quite expansive, and offered items that are usually found in higher-priced hotels, such as homemade biscuits and sausage gravy! Carson asked what time we'd like to eat and happily accommodated our family's needs--even when we changed our time just ten minutes beforehand. That level of care and flexibility was so appreciated. Handmade Amish furniture throughout, heated marble bathroom floors, complimentary drinks and snacks, plush towels, and comfortable furniture to hang out in the common areas. Don't even get me started on the hot breakfasts every morning. Upon coming downstairs in the morning, appetizer donuts/cookies were set out with fresh coffee and a greeting from the hosts offering orange juice. Breakfast usually consisted of eggs (scrambled, fried), a meat (bacon, sausage), hashbrown potatoes, a fruit cup and a sweet item (pancakes, waffle, french toast). But .... one morning we had a hot from the oven bubbling ramekin of berries covered with a crumb topping of oats, brown sugar and butter!!!! The inn owners were more than friendly, helpful and gracious with my family! Vermillion is a very quaint town with a main street (only 2 blocks from the inn) lined with family owned and delicious restaurants, coffee cafes, small retail shops, and lots of bars for the college crowd. We are looking forward to the next time we stop in Vermillion and hope we again can snag a room at the Main Street Inn!

She managed to keep breakfast stocked (a typical eggs and sausage affair) as well as manage the desk. My room was nice and left little room for complaint.
