Clean, convenient, friendly - and perhaps the only Hampton Inn I've stayed at where *everything* in the bathroom worked like it's supposed to. I've been keeping a mental list of bathroom flaws at Hampton Inns: Sink drains slowly, no stopper in sink, sink stopper pull doesn't work, faucet handle is loose, water is scalding hot except for at extreme 'Cold' travel of knob, sink water pressure is low, sink water pressure is ok but shower water pressure is barely a trickle, shower drains slowly, toilet paper holder is loose, et cetera --- except for the Hampton Inn in Corning-Painted Post, where everything worked as it should! Hurray! The breakfast area was clean and well-tended. Apparently HI has done away with the free cookies they used to have. Didn't see any during my recent vacation.

The room we were given last night is our room with large windows that have the lights right outside of them that light up the building. This blazing light starts at sunset and end at sunrise. Even with the blackout blinds, it is bright in our room at night. We also can't look out the window after dark or before sunrise because of the glare of the light. When I asked them to please change our room, they said they did not have any other room in our "tier" which means in the price point we paid. The hotel is virtually empty this weekend. Nevertheless, they are choosing not to give us a different room as a service. I am so very hurt and disappointed. It's a great hotel and a great location. But this inflexibility, even for silver members like us, feels very sad and unnecessary.

The door knob in the bathroom wasnt bolted on all the way and the pillows on the bed looked like they had been washed and dried and all of the stuffing had gone to one end of the pillowcases so they were just hard lumps about half the size of a normal pillowcase. Obviously I woke up with a headache and need for a chiropractor. Second the toilet was running when flushed. We jiggle the handle to make it stop running but then it leaked all over the floor. We tried to call the front desk but of course the phone was not operational. We went down and asked the girl for more towels since i had to use them all to clean the floor. She said that they had no more clean towels and that she was the only one in the entire building, no maintenance no room service, nothing, but she would make a note about the toilet for them to fix in the morning. The following day We were out of our room all day. When we came back the toilet was still running and the entire bathroom and entryway floor was completely flooded. We had no room service and never got the new towels. At this point it was 9 o'clock at Night so we went back down To the desk. All they could do was have us switch rooms, which was a huge inconvenience since we have a one-year-old who we were trying to get to bed and then had to stop and move everything down the hall. I asked if I would hear the noise from the party right before I checked in and the staff said that if we could hear the music, she would be glad to help us switch rooms. We couldn't near the noise, but the staff even called our rooms shortly after we settled in to see if we were ok with the noise levels. The room was larger than I imagined. It had a mini fridge too! The room I stayed in did not have a microwave, but another room we booked had one. So if you plan on using a microwave on your trip, be sure to ask when you check in! The complimentary internet was fantastic - no complaints there. The complimentary breakfast was underwhelming. Not a lot of selection, just the basic cereal, coffee, sausages, toast, waffles. Definitely less variety compared to the other Ramada's I have visited before in the US. Overall lovely weekend and would stay at this location again.
