This is the piece of wood that almost went through my foot!
Robin T.

This place was equally good and bad. First off their restaurant "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" was a bit over charged for the quality of the food, but the bartender was so sweet and really attentive to my daughter's dairy allergy. We talked to Steve upon arriving (who was really funny and nice) and told him our name and that we had our cat in the car and needed to let him out. He either didn't hear us or didn't think anything of it (the hotel is supposed to be pet friendly) and we checked in and settled in for the night, got dinner and when we went to bed the bed was like a brick! My husband woke up in massive pain and when speaking to Stan at the front desk about getting better beds, mentioned our cat and was told that they were not told about this. We did mention it to Steve when we came in and when we booked the appointment with AAA saw ALL the notes our travel agent posted after everything was set and paid for 2 1/2 weeks before the trip. Stan told my husband that even if we change rooms we couldn't leave our animal in the room alone, even if placed in a kennel within the room and he told us to keep our cat in the car while we visited. Our car that morning was almost 90° and it is illegal to leave any animal in a vehicle all day. So not only did he ask us to break a law, but also put our family pet in harms way. I was so upset, so I talked to him myself and managed to work it out. Our next problem was that only one entrance was secured. You can open all the doors around the clock without a key card, which was also a bit unnerving. We had the opportunity to meet Keiana(sorry if I misspelled your name hun) who was so very helpful and very well informed about the areas activities and places to visit. She was so sweet and bent over backwards to help us with our needs. For a few days after the room change, everything was fine. The cleaning staff were very understandable and worked with us so our room would be cleaned before we left so we didn't have to keep our cat Kenneled all day, which we really appreciated. The last thing that happened that kept us from giving 3 or 4 stars was we found a piece of wood with staples sticking out of it that nearly went through my foot. My cat was playing with it and I saw it hit my foot just as I was about to step on it. God forbid it did go through my foot, or god forbid my daughter's or husband's foot. I was mortified! The staples stuck out between a quarter to a half inch from the piece of wood. I will add the picture of this to show you. When showing the front desk assistant he asked if I actually stepped on it, and when I said I started to but saw it before I put my foot down all the way, he shrugged and took it. The manager wanted to check in with us about our stay which I really appreciated, but I was at the point of frustration at that point, thanked him for his concern and questioned him about the doors not being secure and he said he is working on it. They did fortunately follow state law and allow us to lock up our valuables and got them as we needed. Our stay was a bit up and down, and recommend that: 1. You call ahead to see if their security doors work if security matters to you. 2. Double check before you arrive that they know you have a pet even if you travel agent tells them, because it can get lost in translation (more my fault then theirs, to assume they got all the information) 3. You specify what kind of bed is best for you if you have a bad back or are older so you can be comfortable and give them enough time to book it for you and 4. Check your room to make sure it is free of anything potentially hazardous. Most of the employees were really nice, but I will probably just stick to the hotel I have been used to using in Corning. Good luck! And please tip the maids cause they are wonderful!

This is the weird substance found in the lemonade.

Only half of the menu was available at the restaurant, the lemonade had a weird thick liquid in it almost like saliva. Not to mention the straight up BOOGER in my water. (See image) The lemonade also tasted like there was chemicals in it. My friends door was already open when we checked in and the rooms smell really bad. Def mildew. Low quality building in the inside. The water tastes so bad to the point where I had to grab my own water from my room to enjoy my meal. The small foods were really good such as mozzarella sticks and cheesy breads. They were out of lettuce which was in most of the foods. The bacon tasted really chewy and rotten on the burger. The pretzel bun on the burger tastes like straight up salt but there was no salt in sight?!? I would give this hotel a zero if it was possible. The bad really outweighs the good. If you plan on staying for more than 1 night, then go to a Hilton. They have free cookies.

Under the bed was filthy with dirt and dust looked like it had been forgotten about by the cleaner.

Clean, convenient, friendly - and perhaps the only Hampton Inn I've stayed at where *everything* in the bathroom worked like it's supposed to. I've been keeping a mental list of bathroom flaws at Hampton Inns: Sink drains slowly, no stopper in sink, sink stopper pull doesn't work, faucet handle is loose, water is scalding hot except for at extreme 'Cold' travel of knob, sink water pressure is low, sink water pressure is ok but shower water pressure is barely a trickle, shower drains slowly, toilet paper holder is loose, et cetera --- except for the Hampton Inn in Corning-Painted Post, where everything worked as it should! Hurray! The breakfast area was clean and well-tended. Apparently HI has done away with the free cookies they used to have. Didn't see any during my recent vacation.

Not always easy planning for a group of 300 especially when a hotel is under renovation. The hotel is perfectly situated at the end of market street. Great place to take a walk anytime of day. From the minute we walked in we were surrounded by staff whose only goal was to ensure that we had a quality visit. I am comfortable to say that we did. We also had a wonderful room at the hotel. Our suite just went through a rennovation and my wife and I were the first one's to stay in it. Big living room area as well as a large comfortable sleeping room with a VERY LARGE bathroom (with a shower and Jacuzzi) that can be entered though the living room or bedroom. The restaurants were great. Good service and good food. Overall they were attentive and courteous to all the guests. There swimming pool, although large and inviting could not be visited by me. Too busy during my convention. Overall, the hotel is clean and very inviting. The staff here take a lot of pride in their hotel. Are things going to happen from time to time... yes. But that is NO REASON to downplay the overall excellence of the establishment. They deserve 5 stars for their consistent work and striving for excellence. KUDOs to the team at the Radisson Hotel Corning.

Service: I've never been to a hotel where they ask you to write down what services you want done to the room the night before and leave the paper at the front desk. But that's what you get with this Radisson Hotel Cleanliness: When we got to our room, we noticed there was hair on the bathroom floor and in the toilet. Parking: we were unable to find a parking spot in their guest lot due to their live band that plays on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights Electronics: One of the outlets next to the bed was not working making charging my phone inconvenient. The TV, Lights and A/C worked nicely. Pool: There was a sign for a whirlpool, but we did not see one. The indoor pool was heated. There were lounge chairs and plenty of clean towels.

They have an upper floor but no elevator! The room was pretty good, nice, and clean, with the exception of an upholstered chair. I sat in it to watch the large flat screen TV. The chair's arms were sticky with who knows what from years of use and no deep cleaning. Ugh! The back of the same chair was also in the same condition as the arms, more ugh! To use it, we took towels from the b/r and covered the offending areas. No one should have to do this... just gross. The king bed was oh so comfortable and smelled good, which helped foe a good night's sleep. Under the TV cabinet was a mini refrigerator with a freezer, no microwave, but they provided a small coffee pot system with reg and decaf. The b/r had a fantastic shower with good water pressure, nearly immediate hot water. A word of caution, the bottom of the tub was a bit slick. In the morning, there was a decent breakfast, carbs, protein, and juices, a good balance. The coffee was hot and a really good brand to start your day. They do accommodate the gluten-free guests with a dedicated waffle maker. .
