    King room. Dated for sure.

I had a business trip to El Cajon so this place was convenient to both my work and lots of dining options near by. I stayed here a couple of years ago. They were in desperate need of a remodel, which they have since had. Positive: my room was nice overall, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast options were decent. Negative: you can hear every footstep of the individuals above you. Opt to stay on top floor. The person above me kept me awake with thier walking. They frick'n paced back and forth, clomping like a speed walking Yeti. The other negative is parking. They charge $20 to park. This isn't a downtown limited parking hotel and it's not in the prime part of S.D. or a secure parking lot. Next time I'm in town, I will be looking at other options or I'll make sure I'm on the 3rd floor.

Expensive hotel for what you get. We booked a Friday and Saturday, the two highest-priced nights of the week. I negotiated a lower price for the second night, but the total was still upwards of $500. Found myself with a repair situation on my hands at home and had to stay at this hotel for two nights until the issue was resolved. It's a Holiday Inn Express (no frills here). We got a decent clean room that was decorated with modern furniture and minimalist touches were attempted here and there, such as the blackout shade. Standard Amazon cherry wood clothes/jacket hangers, plus hooks on the wall for heavier coats. There was a small round table we ate delivery meals on. The two queen beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows, and we finally slept well after a bevy of dogs stopped barking. I had to look out the window to see if there was a kennel next door. There wasn't and the barking finally stopped. So apparently, dogs are welcome at this Holiday Inn Express. Breakfast is provided but it's your standard breakfast, nothing in particular stood out. The staff were fine. They were kind but not overly friendly, which is fine. I suggest you stop at a 7/11 or similar beforehand if you need cold drinks for your in-room fridge, because they are overpriced here. In the lobby at the front desk they also have a few frozen meals, candy, snacks, etc. to use in your in-room fridge and/or microwave. Everything at the hotel is priced extremely high. The in-room safe was fairly large and handy. The walk-in shower provided sufficiently. Soap/shampoo/conditioners are all attached to the shower wall. I don't really care for this setup but many hotels have now converted to this. Even with signage, the outdoor pool was difficult to find as it was outside, stuck in a desolate back of the hotel. You had to walk through a driveway/parking to get to it. And the steep ramp leading up to the pool would have been difficult to push a wheelchair up. Kind of an odd setup. We weren't planning to use the pool, but it would have been nice to sit at if it was clean. I would probably not choose this hotel again because of the vibe and the price point.

We have stayed at this hotel 5 times this year, and every time, the room, the service and the price were right. Front desk people were always nice and efficient. Checkin takes 5-10', and there was never a wait for us. Parking was always available. All the rooms we have stayed in were spacious. We had a double queen suite one time, and a queen room with kitchenette some other times. We didn't need to use them, but there were fridge, microwave, dishwasher, portable stove, bowls, plates, pan/ pot and utensils. Bathrooms, beds and linen were clean. There was hot water running strong in the bathroom and sinks. I have nothing to complain about this place. I highly recommend this place for the cleanliness, friendliness and convenience that it offers.

Stayed here for one night as I was in town for a concert. I was skeptical since a lot of the reviews were bad but I noticed most of them were prior to the remodel so I decided to give it a chance. Check in process was easy. Rooms are clean. Staff were pretty friendly. They have a fitness center, pool, and complimentary breakfast. They charge $20 per day if you plan to park your vehicle in their parking lot. The permit is issued at check in. Although I didn't care for the parking charge... this hotel was a great deal for the area so you can't beat it. Overall, I had a nice stay.

Nice and comfortable hotel. Very modern and upscale-feeling on the inside. Room was large and spacious. Great TV for watching football. Parking is easy here. Breakfast was very good, on the "better" end as far as IHG properties go. Lots of shopping and food nearby.

Room smells like sweaty clothes. I stay in a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses and this one is low on the list of quality. Staff is friendly, breakfast is typical except there is never any half and half. Not everyone likes flavored creamers and on two days, the coffee was ice cold. Parking is good. However, when I first walked into my room, it smelled like a men's locker room. Carpets were stained and there is debris under the air conditioner and under the bed frame. Looking at other reviews, my room is not the only one that smells. During my 5 day stay, my TV never had a signal. Even after I asked the front desk to have it looked at, nothing was done. If I didn't have to stay here for work, I wouldn't stay here at all.

Came to San Diego for a little vacation and check in was easy and fast. The lobby is clean, the room is spacious, clean and fresh. The AC works amazing! Their breakfast was surprisingly good. Overall our stay was very pleasant.

We do a little "staycation" here every five or six months, just to get out of the house. It's a favorite because they have recently renovated, provide quite a few amenities, and are centrally located near the freeway, shopping, and restaurants. Price-wise it's pretty comparable to other hotels in the area, and includes an actually decent breakfast. The kids are obsessed with the automated pancake machine! There can be some sketchy-types hanging out at the 7-Eleven next door, but for the most part they don't bother anyone. I think the two and half stars on Yelp is unwarranted, and you can see most of the more recent reviews are very positive.

Joseph served as our day of coordinator and killed it! First of all, Joseph was so communicative and easily reachable, whether it be email, text or a phone call. He never left me hanging and was on top of everything. Anything we needed, he made it happen. I may have gotten carried away the night before at the rehearsal dinner, and guess what! Joseph was there providing me with Gatorade, Alka seltzer, checking up on me, etc. While my bride was busy getting ready, he made sure I recovered quickly for my wedding. And his staff was incrediblely helpful. They are the sweetest ladies ever and made sure we had everything we needed for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. Second, the venue is gorgeous! We received lots of compliments from our guests on how stunning the scenery was and how well decorated everything was. It was also really nice that we had the WHOLE property to ourselves. Whereas other wedding venues may have multiple events or weddings happening in the same day, we didn't. It was nice knowing that we and our guests had privacy without any onlookers. We also had all 7 hotel rooms included in our package, which was a really nice perk! In addition to full use of the pool house and pool area, which is where we had our after party! Lastly, even though we were running behind schedule, Joseph didn't try to rush us. He made it clear that it was our day and he was there to support and make sure we were happy and had a good time. I can't stress enough how awesome Joseph and his staff were. We truly had an amazing wedding and if we could go back in time, we'd pick Vineyard Hacidena over and over again! That said, just want to say that Joseph is a super cool guy too! He's really the type of guy you could just go grab a beer with and talk about anything. Also, when we met him the first time, he wasn't pushy at all. We had a list of venues to visit and Joseph was the first. We didn't even bother visiting the other venues after meeting with him and ended signing a contract with Joseph that same day.

It's beautiful... and that's the most appropriate comment I will type…read more My husband and I met Joseph in August of 2024 to plan our daughter's quinceanera that just took place on May 9th 2026. We went over the contract thoroughly, eventually deciding that we would bring our own vendors (taquero, DJ, photographer, baker, event decorator, and 360 photo booth), as I have known many of these people for years and have an established, trusting relationship with most of them. Joseph said that was perfectly fine, the only service that we had to use from his side was the bartender, which my husband and I understood. During this meeting we also met his assistant Patty and were told that she would also be helping us through this process, but that he was always available, and we would have his complete attention the week of and leading to the day of our daughter's celebration. Part of our contract states that we were able to bring the supplies/decor/spirits to the venue the week of the quince. So, on May 4th, my family and I filled the event room with the decorations et al, that we would be using for the following Saturday, the 9th. Every single day, Monday through Friday that week, my mom and I were at the venue, sorting through boxes, opening packages, putting the cake table pieces together, setting up the candy bar, making sure that when the day of came, everything would be organized and ready for the staff to take out to decorate. Friday afternoon (5/8) we met with Patty to clarify all of this. But first let me elaborate a bit more... My family and I had informed Joseph and Patty that we would be bringing some salads, fruit/vegetable platters, and items for a nacho bar that would need to be set up before we arrived. Joseph explained that he did not have enough staff to help with that (8 people doing various jobs, still unsure of what) and that either myself or a friend/family member would need to come and get this ready because he could not accommodate this. We were so grateful that our BAKER, who is not employed by the venue, was able to help with this since she was also arriving early to bring the desserts for the cake table. More on that in a minute. When we arrived at the venue the day of the quince, it looked beautiful, the tables looked ready, centerpieces, runners, etc. then I started noticing that there was so much more missing, and my guests were already walking into the party space. For starters, I did not see hardly any staff in the party area and Patty was unfortunately running around like a madman. She was feverishly trying to set up the luminaries and LED pillars we had brought for the garden walkway. I also noticed that the fruit/veggie/nacho bar table was not set up. I ended up rushing to the clubhouse where all of this was being stored and took everything out of the refrigerator myself. I encountered a staff member on the way back who said to me, "Oh are you the mom? Oh let me know what you need help with." My mind was absolutely boggled. Did my family and I NOT just spend the entire week here and leave detailed instructions? And then... While carrying said fruit/vegetable trays, I walked by the tables to notice that there were not any "reserved" signs placed. We had asked for two tables to be held for the immediate family. I had mentioned this to one of the staff, I believe Lily (she was very lovely) and said she would get right on it. About 10 minutes later I saw that the signs were there, but what I learned the following week was that one of the tables already had guests sitting at it and they were promptly asked to move to another table. Sigh... And then... Once my husband and I were able to catch our breath, we grabbed a quick drink. Jason was our bartender, very kind and solid drinks. While we were at the bar, Joseph came up to talk to us, telling Jason that someone got sick in the bathroom and that he had to stop serving hard alcohol for an hour. Mind you, the bar has only been open about forty-five minutes, and no one has had any shots or is intoxicated. We all disagreed with this but had to oblige. By this time, we were falling behind schedule and had to do the main entrance. Then I realized that I had not seen my daughter in almost two hours, the sun was starting to set, and we did not take any pictures with her in this beautiful space because we had to do the jobs that we had hired this venue for. In the end: No pictures with our daughter in this space that cost half our budget Staff enjoyed our taquero without checking to make sure all of our guests had eaten Saw photos of Joseph and his staff enjoying our 360 photo booth Learned that 80% of my vendors experienced an unpleasant encounter with Joseph My guests were unsatisfied with parking/golf cart availability Not enough restroom signage Reports from vendors state as of 2pm, tablecloths weren't even on the tables.

So I got a car service. We talked and the closer we got to the Lemon Grove area of San Diego the more I realized this place is urban contemporary. Noted the Food4Less and Dollar Tree store if I needed anything after my event. Check in to the Rodeway Inn on Broadway was interesting. The door to the lobby was locked even thought it being early evening with the sun still up. The nice receptionist pointed to the side of the building to check in. I walked around the side to a plexiglass window and checked in. Read the sign on the wall about check out, non-smoking...etc. The receptionist was nice, well dressed, professional and gave me my room card. My room was on the ground floor. As I crossed to my room a shirtless older man was in the parking lot talking to himself. Inside my room it smelt like cigarettes. I'm sure the receptionist told me this inn was non-smoking. So I turned on the air conditioner to air out the room. Hurriedly freshened up and ironed my clothes for the event. My event was to see a theater premiere at The Moxie Theatre which was less than 10 invite drive from the Rodeway Inn. I ordered my car service. When my driver arrived I stepped out of the room and the look on her face was happy. She was nervous that the shirtless person was her guest. On the way to the theatre she asked me why I chose that inn and I told here that i'm just here to see my friends show and Rodeway Inn was close by. She told me this area is touch and go. After the theatre performance and mingling afterwards I went back to the Rodeway Inn to chill. The room smelled less smoky thanks to the air conditioner. I showered and grabbed the remote control to turn on the television to watch Saturday Night Live. The only thing that came up on the tv was "no signal". I tried all three output and no change. So I tried several times and no change. Ended up just watching things & scrolling on my phone. In the morning I relaxed and packed up around 10:15am. At 10:30am i headed to the plexiglass office area to check out. A woman exited a side door as I pressed to call button. No one came to the window. I pressed to call button about 3 times in five minutes with no employee to appear. I started thinking is this how they charge customers if they do not check out by 11am? Well the cleaning attendant stood next to me and knocked on the plexiglas. Because she had someone's phone and to tell the worker that a particular room had smokers. Guess they charge them. Finally an older man came from the back room looking tired. He received said phone and the room number of the smokers. I checked out and asked for a printed receipt. Did not want any unnecessary charges. The stay was nice. Very comfortable bed but the activity in the parking lot with random men walking around was shady at this inn. I walked to the subway station. It's very close.
