There were open parking lots and a garage. Received warm welcome from the front desk staff after walking in. Came here for a daylong event instead of overnight hotel stay. The meeting rooms located along the left hand side. Very limited open seating in the lobby. There is restaurant Harvest Plates & Pints serving breakfast.

    Great wine.

I definitely enjoyed the visit to Arundel Mills Mall and to the Live! Casino in Maryland as part of the "D.C. Cultural & Entertainment Getaway" weekend. Before you know it, we were headed to the next stop....Holiday Inn in Gaithersburg, Maryland! Although, I always enjoy sightseeing portions of trips I was glad to get to the place where we would be staying overnight. Why? Because the Holiday Inn is where I would rest my head in the hopes of having a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed with fantastic pillows-you get my point-lol. Anyway, the Holiday Inn did not disappoint in that area. Let me revisit how glorious the bed and sleeping experience was a bit later in this review.... Getting inside of the Holiday Inn was quite the adventure since four other bus groups were present. Fortunately, there were polite, gracious Holiday Inn staffpersons that greeted and guided people to elevators, etc. We got into the elevator with our bags and got to our room on the 5th Floor. Opening the door with our room key, I was pleased to see a nicely furnished room with comfortable looking beds, a desk, cool artwork on the walls, a refrigerator, a coffee machine, etc. The bathroom was clean with fluffy towels ready to be used. Ok, so now back to my bed.... Anticipating going to sleep later on in the night (It was only around 6pm-lol), I sat on the bed and felt my eyelids getting heavy. Oh that bed...convincing myself to get off the bed so that we could go downstairs for dinner was no small thing.... The Holiday Inn lobby is beautiful and spacious. It consists of a bar and restaurant area where people can dine if they do not want to have food ordered to their rooms. The lobby also has carpeting, and mixed style seating that includes chairs as well as sofas. Holiday Inn's pool is gorgeous and well heated. The palm trees surrounding the pool area gave me a tropical feel and I almost forgot where I was for a minute....They have an organized and well structured Fitness Center. Since I was with a bus group, our package had activities such as a Comedy Show, a Dance Party w/ open bar for two hours as well as both a dinner buffet that night and a breakfast buffet the next morning. Scrumptious food! Succulent Tilapia and moist/tender Chicken w/ the dinner and crispy bacon/seasoned home fried potatoes and sweet, juicy fruit as part of the breakfast buffet. Fabulous activites....you know that I danced the night away as the DJ played good music all night until.the morning light-lol. And yes, I slept well. The bed truly was the highlight of the entire stay. Still envision that firm,.comfortable, relaxing bed and those plush, marvelous pillows! Waking up the next morning so well rested, it saddened me to leave that bed to get dressed before having breakfast - lol. The Holiday Inn is receiving 4 out of 5 stars because of the only issue that occurred during the overnight stay....There was no hot water. I had to use cold water in the sink to brush my teeth and wash my hands and I had to take a cold shower before going to bed as well one in the morning. They have to look into that issue.... All in all, I hope they get the water problem addressed because I would return to this Holiday Inn.

Stayed at this Holiday Inn for two nights. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but a bit run down. The cabinet housing the mini-fridge was in need of repair, the bathroom had problems with cracks in the counter housing around the sink, the air return vent over the shower had this large gross chunk of something in the vent screen, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling... One the plus side, the AC worked well in the room and the wireless internet access was reasonably fast. A negative on the AC control is - the AC wall unit is analog control. You can't set it to a specific temperature and then regulate the room temp. I found myself having to constantly fool around with the controls - and at times having to just turn off the AC for a while when it got to cold. They really need to renovate this place and in the process - install digital thermostat controls. The staff at the hotel was outstanding. Very professional and cheerful. The hotel just needs a major renovation. I'd stay at other places next time in G-Burg.

Hotel was unable to keep up with a full building and we had no hot showers all week. Imagine being on a bus for 14 hours, then not having a hot shower. Or walking around 13 miles on 80* sunny days, then not having a hot shower. Or waking up sore, wishing for a hot shower for your aching muscles and to wake you up for another long day...but there was no hot water. How does a hotel like Holiday Inn even stay open without being able to keep up with a full occupancy?! I just don't understand. Anyways, I digress... At first glance I thought the shower was not finished. It was, but that just means it was hideously ugly and the designer should be fired (see photo). Other than that, the room was clean and acceptable. I was there with my daughter's 8th grade class trip and by some grace of god, I got upgraded to a single, king room at the last minute for free (yay for no rooming with another random mom!). I was at the end of the hall and it was pretty quiet, I didn't hear the hundreds of teenagers goofing off all night. There was a bit of street noise since we were at a busier intersection, but not loud enough to disturb my sleep. The breakfasts were mediocre at best and the fruit was disappointing, especially as a vegetarian. Now on to some positives. Hotel was clean, staff was nice, and they had a nice sized convenience shop. Overall, I wouldn't spend my money voluntarily to stay here, I would 100% find someplace else.

Go to the Holiday Inn Express down the road.

Not impressed, go to the Holiday Inn Express down the road. Rude tall young gentleman helped check us in around 4:00 pm. But acted like he had better things to do. Later tried calling the front desk several times, and after 10 minutes eventually went down to ask for sheets for the pull out bed. FREE breakfast, not here go to the Holiday Inn Express down the road. Old room original refrigerator broken, but fix or replace it not here. They put a working refrigerator on the counter and left the broken one.

The opposite end of our…read morefloor was covered in plastic because the wallpaper was being replaced, but it had no effect on us except for the mess at the unusable ice machine and the fact that one of the elevators was blocked. At 4:30 am, the fire alarms started blaring. We put on our shoes, grabbed our coats and phones, and headed for the stairs. Six long flights of stairs! By the time we were allowed inside, we knew we couldn't get back to sleep so we joined other unhappy hotel guests and grabbed a cup of coffee. As the wallpaper contractor moved toward our side of the floor, we opened our door one evening to be greeted by dust on the floor, as evidenced by our footprints just inside our room. Also, it was clear that our safety was of no concern to the workers, because the covers were removed from the outlets and the fire extinguishers and cabinets, which formerly held said extinguishers, were gone. It was obvious that there was no oversight over the people doing the renovations. Where were they? We got the answer to that question on Friday at midnight, when we were awakened again by the heart-racing blast of fire alarms! So down the six flights we headed again, (We saw the fire extinguisher in the stairwell), but this time, the fire trucks did not even bother to show up this time. We got 1 night's credit on our room (Whoopie!), and my husband called Hilton and posted our story on their Facebook page, complete with pictures. We received an apology with the promise that this would never happen again. Some points deposited into our account would have been a nice goodwill gesture, but it is doubtful that we will be returning to this Hilton the next time we are in town. P.S. It's not about the money, although it was irritating to be charged the same amount as people on the floors without renovations. It is the lack of consideration regarding our safety. No fire extinguishers?

We reserved a room at this hotel for two nights prior and after Thanksgiving, Wednesday and Thursday, 2023. Paid a premium for it at about $200 a night. Checkin Day - I called to see if they could upgrade us or put us in a higher level since we were assigned 214. The lady in the phone said no. Called later and the guy said no as well. Both times I mentioned I was the top tier with Hilton HONORS but they didn't care. When we finally got to the room, we were disappointed. The room was not as clean as other Homewood hotels, we were on the 2nd floor out of 6 or 7, among other issues. I called for sheets, extra pillow and dish soap. As far as the breakfast, by far one of the worse breakfast offerings for a Hilton by far or lack of offerings. No waffle maker, eggs were runny and made from liquid eggs, cereal options were limited with no milk, etc. My kids didn't even want to eat it especially the next day. I would recommend staying at another one or you can do it. This hotel needs to be remodeled, deep cleaned, and hire friendlier staff.

The DC celebration turned out to be an unmitigated disaster on July 4th but what saved it was how great this hotel was. I could have stayed here a week. The people that work here are the nicest and most accommodating you will meet in the hospitality industry. I had so many requests and they did not deny a single one! The room was clean, the towels great quality (most), quiet, great preferred view of the front of the hotel. I did not eat any food here and breakfast was not included. They even had bar soap! Something hard to find in hotels these days. They make up the room once every two days unless you ask for everyday. They are generous about giving you fresh towels at the desk. For the price this hotel is great value in a nice safe area. I drove both days to Downtown DC and parked one time in Union Station ($26) --took 50 minutes to get there and another time in a private garage near Georgetown ($10)--took 40 minutes. You can also just drive to the Metro station close by and park and take the Metro but I always get lost on trains and it takes more time. If I got on a train I would end up in Chicago. I was here on the two hottest days on record over 110 degrees and you would never know it in the room. That room AC will freeze you out! I had to keep it on 70 otherwise I would need winter gear to sleep. The only rub to this hotel is the parking fee. They have a large easy to park lot, but they charge $10 a day parking fee. Close by within about 3 miles or so are 2 IHOPS, my favorite place to power up my day when I am on the road with their egg white omelet and pancakes. I ate at IHOP 3 days in a row! There are not a lot of services too close so I would stop at a grocery story or CVS to pick up water or other things for the room before checking in for the night. They sell water for $3.00 a bottle after the 2 free bottles per stay runs out. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip and and recommend this hotel to everyone.

Located in a quiet, business-medical area of Rockville, and within fifteen minutes of shopping and restaurants, the property is clean with exceptional lighting along with fun and modern design. (The designer should win an award for how they put so much together. Absolutely beautiful.) The rooms are large and comfortable with plenty of room. The bathrooms are well lit with powerful showers that can fit two. The property is quiet and relaxing, to say the least. My girlfriend and enjoyed the warmth of the hot tub, but the mechanism to fire the jets was broken. We dined at their restaurant, which was nice and convenient after a four-hour drive. Katie took care of us and she was attentive. Many thanks to Kalute at the front desk for his help, professionalism, and kindness. He's a great soul and a great ambassador for Hilton. We look forward to returning!

This feedback was extremely organized, step-by-step commentary on every item on which I reported, good or bad, as was the case for the other reviews. Similarly, a day before checking in to the CAMbria, I got a text from "Cam" checking with me in advance. My big question... at what point will an actual human act on my comments? Original review begins here: I had planned to stay at a Cambria hotel in the DC area for a few days, redeeming points. There were several from which to choose. The Rockville Cambria had the most reasonable cost (points or dollars), and the lowest daily parking rate. It was also very convenient to the Red Line of the Metro, which allowed for travel to and from the area. The parking garage was adjacent to the hotel, with easy in/out access at no charge. My room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. While I could get the room quite dark at night, the bathroom door had a large, frosted window, so if someone else in the room used the bathroom at night, the light from the bathroom still lit up the room. Noise could be an issue. I occasionally heard conversations elsewhere. My room also overlooked the street, and at various times at night, any outside activity could easily be heard. If noise bothers you, consider asking for a higher numbered room on any floor - they appear to be "around the corner, so to speak, and possibly quieter. The is a restaurant/bar area, though I did not have any food or drink at the hotel during my stay. Many places to eat, drink, or shop are within walking distance. The one issue I had is that the hotel appears to be low on "Do Not Disturb" signs. On my last night at the hotel, someone in another room on the floor stole the one from my door. I asked for another, but the gentleman at the front desk said none were available, though I would not be disturbed, because maid service will not happen unless requested (which was true). My stay here was enjoyable, and I would definitely return.
