Sanitizing wipes and the remote is sealed

COVID review-We decided to stay at the Hilton for a much needed long holiday weekend getaway! This hotel is located close to the interstate in a strip mall. Here's what I loved +each room had a seal on it to let you know it was cleaned and that no one had entered it. +the room came with a fridge and microwave Here's what I didn't like -The staff wasn't hospitable at all! There were no waves, smiles or proactive attempts to help. We mentioned we were visiting the area to multiple staff members and not a single person offered restaurant or shopping suggestions. We literally got nothing from the staff -the room was very dusty and didn't smell clean. For a room that was supposedly soooooo sanitized that put a sticker on it there was not a lot to show for it! - The tv didn't have many options! There was no way to log into streaming services like you can at other hotels -You want internet you have to pay for it! -the walls are thin! Like paper thin! I had the pleasure of hearing a small child crying and throwing a tantrum at 3am!! -the lobby area was confusing! They had social distance signs and some parts kinda roped off or restricted but no real signs to explain the boundaries! Very very strange. Overall I did not like this hotel. Do I think they have potential-sure. Will I ever stay here again- no!

This visit was a disappointment. Reserved room for 3 adults. On arrival, 2 bathtowels and 1 decaf and 1 regular coffee pod. Housekeeping staff, in our hall, said to ask at front desk. We did that evening & person @ desk was far from hospitable. We asked following evening and gentleman (we had to find him) helped us before same non hospitable woman came out and glared at us. Our clock did not work. (Yes, it was plugged in.) Web site says there is restaurant and bar. There is no restaurant and bar, in lobby, has about10 bar stools. Amenities were listed on a 2.5" X 2.5" piece of copy paper - seriously, I kid you not. Information given is that there are no housekeeping services for 5 days unless requested. No problem, we assumed there would be nobody in our room. Someone did come in and remove some of the used cups & left 4 coffee pods. At no time did anyone tell us coffee was available in the lobby for those not paying for breakfast. We were given instructions on how to tip housekeeping. Seriously? For what services? Hole where door mechanism meets the wall; plaster on the floor. Would be a good idea to notify guests that temp. resets when nobody is in the room. Will return with photos.

This device behind the desk emits a dull white light regularly, but it's not noticeable until after the room is dark.

It's somewhat ironic that my least favorite things about this hotel were some peripherals regarding my room. I really liked the decor, the layout, and the professionalism of the hotel staff. I did sleep well in my room, but it wasn't entirely up to the experience I expected at a Hilton. The most challenging aspect was the pillows. Normally a hotel will try to give you a variety of soft and firm pillows on your bed. Here, the only option was soft pillows. I even went to the front desk to ask if they had any firm pillows. She said they only had soft pillows here - but then what she did was interesting. She got a spare comforter and folded it tightly down to the approximate size of a pillow, and she suggested I place that under the pillows I already had. That worked really well, and I have to wonder if this is the first time she's done that. If it was, I commend her for her innovation. It was challenging to get the room as dark as I wanted. The curtains did not close tightly. There was also some type of phone modem behind the desk which would light up dimly every so often on a regular pattern. This wasn't noticeable until the lights were out, and unfortunately, right above it was a flower-type mirror which reflected the light in several directions. Finally, the smoke detector had a very bright light which flashed regularly, right over the bed. The hotel website did not mention that a breakfast buffet option is available for $10.99. It includes eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, waffles, juices, coffee, and pastries. The woman tending the dining area that morning went above and beyond taking care of her customers. I wish there was a way they could take care of the little things in the room that lit up the darkness - hard to move a smoke alarm, unfortunately. Because apart from these things, it was a relatively enjoyable stay.

    Incorrect pool hours

Indoor pool not open during the day. This hotel is generally nice, but we booked it specifically to have an indoor pool for our kids to use. We even called to confirm that they pool was fully operational before we booked, and they did not disclose that it is only open 7-10pm on the weekends, which is ridiculous. We would have booked a different hotel had we known. Also the hours are posted differently.

    Comfortable room
    Jen W.

Walking in to the hotel they definitely have the 'wow' factor going on. Breakfast area on the right, comfy couches and chairs to the left, the registration desk is toward the back. The staff is efficient and polite. The room is a comfortable size, the bed a firm pillow top with down pillows. One chair that is comfortable with ottoman, a desk (with computer outlets) and a desk chair that looks odd but is comfortable with good lumbar support. Fridge, microwave and keurig in room are some of the reasons we chose to stay here. Easy to find, the hotel is located within walking distance of several chain restaurants such as Five Guys, Panera, Chick Filet and IHOP. There is also a 7Eleven directly across the parking lot from the lobby. Disappointed breakfast is not included. $10.95 per person may be fine if you eat a large breakfast but I'm a coffee and muffin sort of girl so I'm going to pass. The indoor pool is a nice touch. No laps here but nice for kids to play or an adult to float around and relax if you get the room to yourself. There is also a small gym. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the price is reasonable for the area.

    Dirty wash cloth

I had a horrible experience at this Hilton Garden Inn. When I went to go to bed there was a dirty wash cloth underneath the covers. So they did not change the sheets before I checked into the room. So unsanitary and disgusting especially during a pandemic. The managers were not helpful at all. They first told me all the rooms were sold out so I couldn't switch then after I refused to stay in the same room, they found rooms on the second and fourth floors. I asked for a refund but they said I would have to contact the third party I booked with and there was nothing they could do. They never mentioned that they could actually approve a refund if I contacted the third party. As it was already after 10pm at night and I was heading back on the road at 7am, I reluctantly took a different room and decided to deal with the booking agent later. I spoke with a second manager before checkout in the morning who told me should would comp my 1-night stay if she could but there was nothing she could do and I would have to contact the third party booking agent. When I contacted the third party later, the hotel refused to approve a refund. So misleading and horrible customer service. Don't stay at this property! They do not uphold the Hilton promise! The only good thing about the property was the location.

As always, the cookies they provide at check in were delectable. They even have allergen free cookies now! I let the staff know that the last night of my stay, my husband would be joinging me, and that it was our marriage anniversary. They delivered the most delicious cheesecake and two little bottles of champagne to our room. This was an above-and-beyond gesture and made our evening all the more special. I felt very secure in this hotel, as one must utilize their room key to go up in the elevator. My room was on the 16th floor. The view of the colorful trees and surrounding suburbs really was spectacular. There is construction happening around the hotel, and you could hear this in the early hours of the morning, but it was not particularly bothersome to me. The shower was great- good water pressure and a nice shower head (I think it was a rain shower if I am remember correctly). The king bed was extremely comfy. The AC unit worked very well, as did the mini fridge. One thing I appreciated was the lighting in this room. It offered an array of warm, soft lighting, perfect for reading in bed. The workout room was impressive. They boast a rower, a Peloton, nice treadmills, and weights. The only thing I did not appreciate about this experience was the breakfast. It was not obvious to me that this was a separate cost from the stay. I certainly would not have paid $17 for it if I had known ahead of time. For a breakfast that expensive, you need to be offering higher quality options than oatmeal, frosted flakes, and powered scrambled eggs. The pastries were not good, and they do not let you take extra food to your room. I would highly recommend that they revamp this part of the guest experience, and at the veyr least, make it clear before being served coffee that they are about to pay a pretty penny for a subpar, basic breakfast buffet.

I had a terrible experience with the meeting room at this hotel. First, the room was not open until 9:15, and when we finally got in, it was freezing cold. The AV equipment didn't work until 9:35, which wasted even more of our time. I had to ask twice for staff to open the room and to turn on the heat. There was no coffee or water provided, and now, it's almost 11 and we're heading out for lunch because no one ever came by to take our order. This was honestly the worst service I have seen at this hotel.

And we never really heard other guests (although, I suppose it's possible the rooms on either side of us were not in use). We both slept well (as well as we could given the time difference) and I was happy to note that the window shade did a decent job of blocking out the light. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Having the kitchenette was a nice feature to have. My main points for not giving a full 5 stars are: the bathroom door was hard to close and open fully; and the breakfast felt a little lack luster to me, but at least it meant I didn't have to go far to get a bagel.

Breakfast had some nice options for build it yourself waffles or breakfast sandwiches with sausages and egg patties, plus hard boiled eggs. Pool, gym, laundry and conference room are available. Rooms have a nice kitchenette with microwave, full sink, dishwasher, plates, cups, bowls, and utensils, plus a sponge and dishwashing liquid. Plenty of room to spread out. There's a nearby Safeway if you need groceries. Parking was easy. The cons: The bed was uncomfortable for my wife, she kept tossing and turning. The flat sheet was a weird sheet/thin comforter combo which wasn't tucked in properly and was uncomfortable after a few hours. The room thermostat did not work as programmed. We set it for 66 to sleep but when we woke up groggy at 3, it had only gone down to 71. We turned it off and on, plus used the fan feature, no difference. The room vent is located by the kitchen, not the bed, so keep that in mind. The bathroom door slides, is heavy and does not have a true handle as it can retract fully in the wall. Based on that lack of handle, it was occasionally difficult to close and open. Due to the time, we did not want to try to switch rooms as we had to leave for a family obligation in a few hours in the morning. To the hotel's credit, they reached out immediately after I did an internal survey. They said to not hesitate to contact the front desk as it's staffed 24 hours. I appreciate them hearing my concerns.

However, it worked for what we needed and I *almost* went full 4 stars to balance out the hate based on our mostly positive experience. So, traveling with my brother who booked this hotel through Airbnb. He thought he was booking a private condo or apartment space only to find out post-booking it was a hotel. We arrive and...it's not bad. I'm scanning these reviews while he's checking us in as we realize where we're staying and I'm nervous. But, the lobby is clean and modern, the staff is friendly, the parking is good (though pricey, but this is suburban DC). It is noticeably muggy in the elevator and hallways and since so many reviews describe the rooms as being hot I'm worried. But in the room, I crank the AC and it quickly cools things off. Our stay in the room for 3 days is consistently cool. In room fridge works properly. Wifi works. Water pressure is good, though it takes a moment for the water to get hot. If you plan on eating on site it's too pricey to be worth it, especially since you're in walking distance of almost anything you'd want to eat. We were here to see several shows at the Fillmore and it's steps from the hotel. This worked out great. No uber, no parking costs. I'd stay here again if seeing shows at the Fillmore. Price is solid/average. Location is fantastic. The hotel smells musty, old, faint cigarette odor. Rooms were fine, beds were comfortable and had great bedding, AC worked. It was quiet at night. It felt safe throughout. A solid 3 hotel that could use some upgrades.

My husband and I reserved a room for a week in May 2026 to visit our daughter in Washington DC. We reserved a non-smoking room with a King bed. Here was our experience: 1. Check-in time was 3 pm. I arrived at 2:50 to see both a "Travelodge" and a "Days Inn" sign on the hotel, so there was some confusion as to whether or not we were in the right place. I was told I needed to come back in 10 minutes to check-in. So I sat in my car until 3 pm, but watched as the manager checked in another family and took them to their rooms while I waited. 2. Once I checked in, I was told that the room with the King bed was not available but they had a room with two doubles. I said that was fine as long as the cost was equal or less than the cost of a King room. The woman checking me in said that the cost was actually *higher* but that they would reduce the price just for us. FYI, I know from when I made reservations that the cost was the same. I don't like being lied to. 3. The check-in procedure took 10 minutes because the woman checking me in continued to have a private conversation (in another language) with someone else in the office while completing the process. I stood there and waited for them to end their conversation before she helped me. 4. First impressions of the room: Sheets and blankets on the bed but no bed cover. No pictures on the walls. They were blank. The floor was linoleum and sticky with stains. No rug. 5. There was no fridge. There was a closet with no doors. Felt a bit like a prison cell. 6. The TV was not connected to cable. It produced nothing but a fuzzy image. 7. The bathroom door didn't close and certainly didn't lock. 8. The tub was clogged. 9. When you turned on the shower head, water sprayed out from the back of the tub faucet, likely into the wall and beneath the tub (more on this below). 10. Towels were tiny, max of 4x2 feet in dimension. Not designed for adults. 11. Minimal lighting. Very dark room. 12. On our third night, I stepped out of the bathroom after taking a shower and my husband said that water had flooded the room from the bathroom. There was a puddle in the corner by the bathroom, seeping up from under the linoleum tiles. 13. The next morning, we went to the front desk to be given a new, non-flooded room. The clerk said that he would "see if anything was available". I explained that he HAD to change our room because he couldn't leave us in a flooded room. He said to return later to get new keys. We came back that evening and we were given a new room. 14. The new room didn't flood and the bathroom door closed, but the lights in between the two beds didn't work. 15. There were cockroaches in the room. We had to store our suitcases up high in the closet and on the single chair in the room to avoid having them crawl into our belongings. 16. Aside from this, the hotel was occupied by some people who seemed to have mental health issues. They yelled and talked loudly. The front office had several unhomed individuals sitting there every time I went in. We did NOT feel safe there. FYI, it was a busy weekend in DC as there were many college graduation ceremonies taking place. Moving to another hotel was not an option. Do not stay here. It is horrific, unclean and unsafe.

Then I saw the room. Two lamps with dim bulbs in them. Stained bathtub. No comforter on the bed just sheets. Iron but no ironing board. Absolutely horrific. It was midnight so I fell asleep, fully clothed on top of the sheets and couldn't wait to get out of there in the morning And the password-protected Wifi did not work.
