This is a great hotel to stay if you're visiting the NASA Space Center! The parking is free! There are many food establishments in the area. The area felt safe. The room was clean and had enough towels for 4 people. The pool is indoor and on the smaller side but I loved that they had a jacuzzi. The floors around the pool were always wet and is definitely a hazard for slipping. There are pool towels near the entrance of the pool. This hotel does not offer free breakfast but they have an in house restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. Overall, this is a hotel that we will return in the future. read more

Guaranteed 5 minute wait for the elevator each time you want to use it, possibly because the other one has been broken for months and they slowed their working elevator by 90% to prevent wear. Either way, it will take you 15 minutes to get into your 5th floor room because every day when you get back from whatever you're doing your key card won't work for your own room so you have to take another 5 minutes to wait for the elevator and go to the front desk and maybe be allowed into your room that you pay for for 12 hours. We had a reservation at the Holiday Inn located at 302 W Bay Area Blvd, but after spending the day at NASA, we encountered a family emergency. The front desk staff and managers went above and beyond to assist us. They even contacted the general manager, Moses, who personally stepped in to help with our situation. I am truly grateful that there are still kind and compassionate people willing to go the extra mile. Even if they hadn't been able to assist, their willingness to try meant so much. Leadership starts at the top, and it's clear that Moses sets the right example. Because of this experience, I will definitely be staying at this Holiday Inn and other Holiday Inns in the future. "If you don't like it, then you can stay somewhere else," was the response from the front desk attendant when I complained about the various major issues at this property. Issues include: 1.) I had to get FOUR replacements for my room key because the lock did not work. As of right now, I cannot get into my room & the afore mentioned front desk attendant had to let me in. No word on what I'm supposed to do if I have to leave my room again... 2.) Hotel seems to have "dips" in the floor, and today they declared that these "dips" were not safe (I have to wonder why they allowed guests to walk and stay on this floor if they were so unsafe to begin with ). So, they decided to re-cement the hallway floor. My issue was not the re-cementing, rathe it is they did not warn the guests, or put up any signs indicating what was happening. All of a sudden, two guys were in the hallway today pulling up the carpet and putting cement down. They left the carpet bunched up in the hallway with wet cementwhen they went home for the night. Consequently, many guests walked through the wet cement & bunched up carpet to get to their rooms. If there were an emergency overnight, then the bunched up carpet creates its own safety concern. 3.) My toilet, barely flushes. When I brought all of these frustrations to the front desk, she said, "I'm sorry you feel that way." She neither offered empathy nor solutions. However, I am taking her advice, and the next time I am in this area, I will be staying at the Hampton Inn down the street. UPDATE: Property Manager NEVER contacted me, even though I requestwd to be contacted about this truly horrible stay! So when checking in at 10pm on 6.3.24 I walked into the room they gave me and it had not been cleaned. It had a pizza box, an un made bed and other random things/trash all over the room. When I went back to the front desk and told them I needed a different room the clerk asked me why and I showed him the picture. After looking at the picture he gave me a new room/suit. When getting into the new room it smelled like mold and old booze. Best part about this hotel is the customer service. The front desk agents are welcoming and professional. They are empowered to make decisions appropriate to the situation (vs. the last few places where I stayed at where they were scared to even check people out without a manager being there). Kudos to the night staff like Moses and Victoria who take time to make sure every guest is helped, despite it taking some time to get things sorted out. Hotel has a small gym with weights and bench, treadmill, elliptical. There is a water dispenser and water fountains outside the gym. Snack area has soft drinks and snacks available for purchase, despite the vending machines not working on the floor. Plenty of parking, and next to a variety of food options you can walk to (Japanese, Thai, etc.) as the parking lot is adjacent to a commercial strip with lots of stores. One star off due to the weird breakfast situation, elevators being inefficient, and some parts of the hotel being a little shabby/not as well maintained. Overall - would recommend this place as it is safe, service is good, and a convenient location for getting food or shopping, as well as I-45. read more

The hotel front desk clerk was nice enough to come with me on the second trip to make sure the key worked and it did! Yeah, I am in. First things first, got to go pee. Bathroom? A zero out of 10. The floor in the bathroom has some weird drain in the middle of the floor releasing this horrendous sewer gas smell. Covered with two towels and I pretty sure most of the stench is now filtered. Awh, time to order room service. Food was 2 out of 10, but the worst was unwrapping the silverware for the polyester napkin to find unwashed utensils... gag, gag, gag. Call room service up and they quickly brought up new napkins and utensils. The oddest part was the room service attendant, blamed the dishwash. I am certain that the dishwasher isn't the person wrapping silverware. To have her blame that person instead of own it, was the last I could take. I stayed here at the Holiday Inn because the price was good and so was the location. It is conveniently located near the Space Center of Houston, Kemah Boardwalk and Galveston. The people who work here were so nice and courteous. When I checked out, Yvonne assisted me. She is from the Austin area so she knew exactly where we were from. She was so helpful and assisted us in finding the local hotspots. The room was clean and spacious. It was a pretty big room. Lots of space to move around in. Parking is free. Indoor pool and gym. They have a bar and restaurant downstairs. That place was ALWAYS packed! Only pitfall is wifi. Once I was connected, the connection was so slow and kept disconnecting. I'm assuming since they were packed this weekend that there may have been so many people connected to the wifi. I will definitely be back! read more

I chose this hotel because I was having a medical procedure and it was very close to the doctors office. I enjoyed almost everything about this Holiday Inn. It's very clean bedding was wonderful the beds were very comfortable. The staff was kind and attentive. The housekeeping staff were very very kind and made sure I had plenty of towels and extra pillows when they saw that I was recovering from a surgery. The only issue I had that was a bit perturbing was they had no wheelchair on site when I arrived after surgery to get to my room. I chose an ADA room for easy access to everything and I assumed they would have a courtesy wheelchair since all of the rooms start on the second floor but there was no wheelchair and my husband had to run around trying to find me some thing at a medical supply store that was an extra $150 I didn't want to spend The price is comparable with the other hotels in the area and the room was nice and cold temperature wise. Many PROS and only 1 CON but it was a BIG ONE. We had a room on the 4th floor and stayed only one night (Saturday). The rooms were clean and the were beds comfortable. But...every time we had to use the toilet, it backed up on us! It never overflowed luckily but it was nasty . I called the front desk at least 3 times but apparently it was not an issue for her. She did not have to use the toilet in that room! After the 3rd call, we FINALLY got a plunger delivered to the room. Worst hotel ever... seriously from start to finish it was terrible. We got there at 8:00 pm expecting a room to be ready and after standing in line for 20 minutes we find out it's not. The kids are tired but dealing. We ask about going to the pool while they wait and the guy at the front desk simply walks off. Another lady walks up mumbling something and walks after him. My wife and I stare at each other then start looking for hidden cameras. Are we on an episode of "Punked"? Certainly this isn't happening?!? The lady comes back and is very nice but keeps blaming COVID for everything. I listen as I continue to notice her mask is barely on. No breakfast because of COVID. No pens- COVID, short staffed- COVID, limits on number in the pool- COVID. I get safety, but if you can not run your whole hotel, don't open the whole hotel. They said they would let us know when the room is ready. At about 9:00 we ask again, and get "oh yes, it's ready" (thanks for letting me know!). 6 hours after our checkin time we finally get a room. Alright kids get in the shower! "Daaaaadddd???? (This is never a good sign), there are only 2 towels." Im thinking kids can't find the milk in the middle of the fridge so they just don't see it. As I go check, I tell my kids. Sorry you are wrong, we have 1 towel and a floor mat. We call the front desk, to bring us towels. We get two showers done because one son used the floor mat. 30 minutes later still no towels. I look down the hall and see the cleaning cart! Time to take life by the horns and fix my problem! I go full cloak and dagger and sneak all the way up, undetected.... but no joy... there are only hand towels that are clean. Ugh!!! My wife tries a different approach. The guy who disappeared is seen walking down our hall. She stops him and asks for towels and he makes 3 towels magically appear. We ask for one more and he looks defeated. "Maybe tomorrow". We decide 4 out of five is good enough and go to bed. We go about our next day and come back. We get back and see the room hasn't been serviced. Ok, must be COVID. They must not be coming into the rooms. Fine, at least we have some towels. I go into the bathroom.... WHO STOLE MY TOWELS!!!! ALL OF OUR TOWELS ARE GONE! I open the door and see the cleaning cart again. This time no stealth, I just don't care. I go grab 3 floor mats because that's all they have. I throw them in the room and head down stairs. At this point I'm livid. But there is a line and no one at the front desk. One lady who is actually more upset than me, starts ringing the bell many times to bring someone up. I ask the lady if she is ok and she says "I got here at my 3:00 check in, it's 8:00 now. They just finally said my room is open and I walk in to see empty water bottles, a dirty bathroom and unmade slept in beds." (And I thought I had it bad...). She was doing everything she could to keep from screaming, (not that there was anyone to scream at...). 15 minutes later a lady comes to the desk, mask under chin with full face exposed and starts making excuses to everyone in line, and the blame was all on COVID. Once again I think, if COVID is a problem why is your mask not on your face? After she gets a few people checked in, and half heartedly tries to "help" the upset lady ahead of me, I finally get my turn. Me: "May I please have some towels?" Her: "What type?" Me (confused): "clean preferably" Her (annoyed): "Small or large?" Me (kindly and removing all sarcasm or attempted humor): "large please" Her: "how many?" Me: "5, one for each person in my room" Her (seems to not believe me): "you need 5?" Me: "yes, we have a suite and my wife and I have 3 kids" Her: "ok, what type?" (At this point in the great towel interrogation, I wonder. Do I dare go back to the beginning with "clean", just to see if we can do it all over again? However I remember I have tired children needing showers, so discretion rules the day) Me: "I'd like 5 large clean towels please, since house keeping removed mine" She reaches into a classic rolling laundry basket that you see in prison movies and begins to fold 5 towels for me. I say thank you and quickly return to my room. My wife says, "I need a comforter, I was cold, could you..." Me (cutting her off): "I'm not going back down to the front desk" Wife: "ok, I'll just call." At 9:00 pm she calls the front desk and asks for a comforter. And they say it will be right up. At 11:00 pm, we get tired of waiting for a comforter, and we simply go to bed. If you want a towel here, it's probably better to bring your own. If you want service, bring your own. If you want a clean room, clean your own... you know, because of COVID. If you value your family, don't bring them here. read more

A very nice newer Holiday Inn. Check in was a breeze and the employees were friendly. The room was well furnished with a flat screen Tv, microwave, mini refrigerator and a very comfortable bed. The hotel was quite as well. The only problem I experienced was that I couldn't connect to the Wifi. Two things to note, leave your 4 legged kids at home as they don't accept pets. Also, they don't offer a complimentary breakfast. :( You can purchase a breakfast buffet for $9.95. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. Kemah and NASA are only minuets away. read more

Let's just start by saying really good service, well kept and sanitized, great customer service, rooms were very well cleaned up, nice pool (which is open). Prices for the hotel were a good deal and not crazy, especially with everything going on right now. In a three day stay there were never any towels in the pool area. Had to switch rooms our second day. Pretty sure the first room was not cleaned. They were still doing room cleaning at 9pm with multiple groups still waiting. Restaurant was closed despite them advertising free breakfast. Very disorginzed, very unprofessional. Stayed here this past weekend. Nice, clean Holiday Inn. Close to stores and chain restaurants. Everything in the room worked. Check in was painless. I ate at the restaurant only once, but it was good for what it was (a restaurant in a Holiday Inn). I didn't use the pool or gym, but heard that they were good. One thing to note: there are more electrical outlets in my room than the number of appliances I own in my home. In other words you can charge your phone, tablet, laptop and still run approximately 47 more appliances all at the same time. So why not 5 stars? Well something odd happened. I booked the room months before my stay. Usually I either have my credit card charged right away or when I actually stay there. In this case my card got charged 3 months after I booked the room (2 months before my actual stay). I was concerned that I got double billed. I didn't but it was odd and made me a bit uncomfortable. Part of me is still waiting for more charges to show up on my card. read more

If you plan to visit Space Center Houston with children, this Holiday Inn is only 5 minutes away just off Bay Area Blvd and about 25 minutes from the Kemah Boardwalk It is a very updated and chic Holiday Inn with a decent fitness center but rather small pool, no lap swimming here. There is a small meeting room and a business center with free wi-fi. We did attend during a holiday weekend and found the hotel suprisingly vacant. Which meant our family got to play the Wii games in the hotel lobby any time of day without waiting our turn to play. The handy amenities of a microwave and fridge in our room were so convenient for leftovers and water bottles. The hotel's location also made it very convenient to walk to a local restaurant and even the bowling alley across the street. Kids did get to eat free here. The hotel did offer a hot breakfast buffet (but not for free) on the weekends only and the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. read more

Just spent 11 nights here while on a work/business trip. For a Holiday Inn, this hotel is awesome. Rooms are very nice, clean and modern...also features a pool and hot tub, workout room, laundry room, and a full bar/restaurant. Was also quite surprised at the bar prices, for a hotel, drinks were very reasonable. $6 for a mixed drink and $3.75 for a bottle of beer. The breakfast buffet (which my company had included in my room rate) was also top notch. It's not your average breakfast which consists of cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. Actually had eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burritos, toast, muffins, cereal and more! Was quite surprised with the selection, and all the food was very good. My only two negative points....while the beds are new and very comfy, they are very high off the ground. I'm 5'10" and literally had to hop up on the bed because they are so tall off the ground. Also, it seemed two or three days, there was an odd odor coming from the pool. Otherwise, this hotel is great and I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the Webster area. read more

I've stayed at numerous hotels for work and personal occasions . Once my family and I checked in we were greeted but once I read the comments on my hotel sheet the front desk printed out it said No breakfast!! and when I ask the employee at the desk he said it did not come with our price when we booked the room. I was in shock because I normally get a free breakfast or I would of notice it saying that I need to purchase the breakfast. Well then the employee changed his look towards us and became rude and unprofessional. The way he offered the breakfast was 12.95 per adult and did not mention kids eat free and had a bit of an attitude especially when it came to me signing the paper with a signature and nothing saying to print adjacent he added that while I was signing. Instead of me saying something in front of everyone I'm writing this review due to his unprofessional attitude. Hopefully when y'all read this I'm basing this review off of attitude and presence. We spent one night at this clean, comfortable, conveniently-located HI. Our beds were super comfortable, AC worked perfectly (none of that freezing/burning up thing that happens often) and the front desk staff were great. I do not believe I stayed at a Holiday Inn of recent and was placed here by my work for a business trip to the area. I was quite surprised when walking in. Beautiful hotel, friendly appreciative staff. After getting settled in, I tried connecting to the internet and noticed my connection was slow. Tried hard wire and WiFi. LAN was unusable and WiFi S L O W. I did not expect much when I called to complain, however I was taken by surprise. Cleveland came up to the room within minutes and was a very professional and empathetic driven young man. I believe he sincerely wanted to fix the problem. In my travels, that attitude is something rare to across. While I was impressed with Cleveland I still did not expect for the internet to be fixed. I was happily mistaken as it was on both LAN and WiFi before my trip ended. My only complaint is that the pool water was green. At first I thought it was supposed to be that way, but then I remembered that I never have seen green pool water in my life unless the algae were out of control and or Ph Balance. I have not stayed in the rooms but I want to tell you why this place is so awesome. It was a rainy day and I heard nature calling. The rain was only making things worse. I tried to stop at Chipotle to use their bathroom but it was before 11 so they were not open. I saw the Holiday Inn sign and I knew that I could not wait any longer. I drove to the front door. Opened my umbrella and did the potty dance all the way inside. I saw the lady at the desk and asked if it was ok to use their bathroom. She immediately gave me directions. I was so relieved! Literally. The bathrooms were very clean and very nice. The soap smelled good and the water to wash my hands was warm. I am so thankful that this Holiday inn is where it is. I am so glad that the hotel desk is staffed with pleasant people. I will be recommending to my family to stay here when they come visit! read more

This place was amazing! I worked in the hotel industry in college and like to think I know a thing or two. And I definitely have skewed expectations of customer service, given the lengths I went to, to ensure guest satisfaction, when I was a front desk jockey! That being said, this hotel impressed me through-in-through! They had a nice little (alcohol not included) Happy Hour w/ appetizers and cookies. My kids loved it! They have a nice lobby, ample parking and a nice bar. The room we stayed in (2-queen suite) was very nice and clean. The indoor pool & hot tub were amply sized and the workout center was well equipped. It even had light (up to 30lbs) free weights, which allowed me to get a good workout in while on vacation. We chose this hotel as it was near Space Center Houston, which was our reason for being in Houston to begin with. It wasn't walkable, but definitely only a short car ride away. There was a small strip center with food options just in front of the hotel. I believe there was a Sonic, Chipotle and nice mediterranean restaurant (we opted for the latter, which was great!). There were also other dining options nearby that could feasibly be walked to. Oh and last but not least, big shout out to Layla at the front desk! She was super friendly and helpful! I actually just started asking questions about the area at one point just to see if there was something she didn't have an answer for.. There wasn't! I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you have to pick something in this area and require a suite! Or even if you don't need a suite for that matter... Check in went smoothly, room is clean, clean, clean. This is a newer hotel (Dec. 2009) and there are plenty of electrical plugs, microwave and fridge and flat screen TV. Beds are comfy!!! Bathroom is a little small but did I mention this place is clean?! I'll give up a little space for cleanliness! I'm very happy with this place and to think I wanted to stay at the Hilton? Ugh... My coworkers said they had to "ask" for a fridge there and there aren't any microwaves! Also, if you join the Priority Club Rewards program (it is free & points don't expire) you get $20 of breakfast credits every morning here. Not sure about coffee as I don't drink it but I think you also get free coffee as well, although there might be a limit to quantity. There are several restaurants within walking distance of this hotel and there is a self service laundry facility to use. Not sure about the exercise room or pool...didn't want to burn any calories this week! If I was back in the area I'd definitely stay here again. I'm a big fan of a clean hotel and this one definitely fit the requirements. read more
