Location, location, location!!! Walking to Kesaya Center & back after Lady Gaga's Mayhem Ball was glorious. This is definitely a level-up for my concert experience! And I loved our view of the port & Bayfront Park from our room. That convenience was offset by the utter lack of parking at the hotel. In fact, this property should really remove all references to on-site or valet parking from their website. Parking of any kind is simply not available for 98% of their guests. We tried 3 separate times to valet park in their tiny parking lot, unsuccessfully. We finally gave up & found parking for around $12 in a garage about 3 blocks away, which wasn't ideal in hot & rainy Florida. That parking garage was actually further from this hotel than the Kesaya Center! Our room was clean (you know I checked the mattresses), and very large with a full size sofa & lots of windows overlooking Biscayne Blvd. We had a great view of the observation wheel in Bayfront Park & could see glimpses of the cruise ships at the port. That said, every single thing in this room was very dated. My staff encounters were minimal, and none were outstanding in any way, positive or negative. We didn't use any of the amenities as we were only here one night for that concert, & the lack of parking sucked up all of our spare time. The actual parking situation will be a factor for future stays, but I'd consider staying here again for the proximity to Kesaya Center. read more

2/27/2025 - Holiday Inn Port of Miami-Downtown is situated in the heart of downtown Miami. Across the street of Biscayne Blvd. is the Port of Miami (PORTMIAMI), the largest port of cruise ship in the world where a largest cruise ship - Icon of the Sea - sails weekly for a round trip since its maiden voyage began on 1/27/2024 and Bayside Marketplace, where we bought a boat tour at $25 per person for 100 minutes tour. Upon entering its lobby, a very good impression with its modern design appears to my mind. The guest room is bigger than Kimpton Hotels' in Los Angeles (Beverly Hills).  Also, the bed is very comfortable - we had a very good sleep. Due to its unique location, all guests rooms were sold out yesterday, today and tomorrow (2/28/2025) - Thanks for many mega cruise ships will begin sailing on Saturday, 2/29/2025. I am a little bit surprised that this hotel does not have a hot tub while most Holiday Inn and Suites have both a pool and hot tub (note: its swim pool has been closed for a while). This hotel honors an IHG Platinum member's benefit by offering two complimentary drinks (wines, beers, or sparkling wine, etc.), 600 IHG points, and free upgrade if a room is available upon check-in. This hotel adds a good value to an IHG brand name. Thank IHG for letting us find this hotel in Miami - we have achieved a price & performance goal. The Marina Bay Seafood Coastal Kitchen entered into the hotel one year ago and provides a very good all-you-can-eat buffet at $34 per person including tax and tips (daily hours: 7:00 to 11:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) Wish list: Some floors and guestrooms should be remodeled because the carpet on the 3rd floor is too old, which may apply to those guestrooms on the same floor. We are here because we are cruising in the morning. There is very little parking and you can drive around for quite some time before you find a spot if there's a game going on.(we got game day and charged $30 for 2 hours and then another $18 for another 8 hrs.) The beds are comfortable and the room is clean even though the furniture is showing its age. The location is great for driving to the cruise port and it's right across from a restaurant area. Bayside Market is across the street and the Metro Mover is right next door. My room was clean and had a nice view of the Biscayne Bay. We stayed here one night to be close to the Kaseya Center. The parking behind the hotel was very convenient. The location is also convenient. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the AC in the room did not work. I called the front desk and they said to try the thermostat. We put the temperature down by 10° and were sweating all night. It was not a comfortable feeling waking up drenched in sweat. The elevators and walls had wallpaper from the 1970's. The air smelled damp like mold. The lobby felt warm too. The TV was tiny only had a few basic channels. I do not recommend this hotel. Spend an extra $40 and stay at a neighboring hotel. read more

BEWARE!!!!! THIS PLACE IS A DUMP!! My family and I had to book a one night stay since we were headed on a cruise the next day. Upon walking into the room, there was a strong mildew smell that never went away. It was musty and unpleasant, like the room hadn't been cleaned properly. As an IHG Platinum Elite member, I have stayed at many IHG properties and have come to expect a certain standard of professionalism and cleanliness. Unfortunately, this experience has fallen significantly short of those expectations. Upon arrival, the front desk interaction was unprofessional and discourteous. The room itself is in unacceptable condition and does not meet basic hotel standards. This has to be the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms shown in the hotel photos had to be taken when this hotel was new in the 1960's. The room was old and in need of a severe make over. The carpet was so dirty That I would not walk on it bare foot. The bed sheets had numerous stains, and the furnishings had long past their life expectancy. The only reason this place stays open is because of the unsuspecting cruise customers from the nearby port. The vents appear to have never been cleaned, the curtains are damaged, and the whole vibe screams neglect. I feel like I'm on a hidden camera show waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out and yell, "Gotcha!" And the bed situation? I'm stuck on a rickety futon with a thin, prison-quality mattress offering zero support. If I wake up with bedbug bites, I won't be even slightly surprised. Between the stale odors and the decrepit state of literally everything, this hotel is giving me serious second thoughts about ever trusting brand-name accommodations again. To top it off, this place isn't cheap. At $300+ a night, you'd expect cleanliness, comfort, and at least a baseline standard of quality. Instead, it feels more like a slum than a reputable hotel. IHG should be ashamed to have its name on this property. I booked this place online in February. When I arrived it was closed and out of business. Was not notified.

This hotel is a tourist trap. It is conveniently located near the port of Miami. But it is obviously in need of repairs and a DEEP clean. We were on the 6th floor. Upon exiting the elevator the smell of mildew was apparent. Upon entering the room, the air smelled musty and dusty. Unfortunately we were stuck there as there wasn't any other rooms available at the other nearby hotels during the holiday. Every time the air conditioner came on, the smell of dust filled the room. My husband removed the cover and found the filter to be completely filled. (As seen in one of the photos) He called the front desk and they sent a maintenance person up a short time later and replaced it. There were exposed wires in our room. And dust was thick along the baseboards and windows. One of the large heavy mirrors in our bathroom (located behind the bathroom door) was not attached to the wall, but rather hanging from two screws and some wire. If you have small children or adults with mobility issues, this could be dangerous. Also there is a large lip from the bedroom space going into the bathroom, which poses a tripping hazard. The tin and toilet handle had clearly been painted over and the paint is chipping/peeling away. There was also black mold growing in the shower. The front desk person was pleasant upon our arrival. The lobby appears clean. The pool is closed; and has been for quite some time. There were food/meds/drinks available for purchase. This hotel does not offer breakfast, but given the state of our room, that may have been a blessing. If they cannot maintain a clean hotel you certainly do not want them running a kitchen. We will not stay in this hotel again. Based on all the new buildings going up around it, my best guess is the owner of this hotel is waiting for someone to make him an offer on this property and perhaps that's why it is not being cared for in an appropriate way. read more

WROST HOTEL EVER!! AVIOD AT ALL COST!! My family and I stay at this hotel only one night because it was close to the port. Our room was small, smelled like urine, and didnt even have a fridge. The two ladies at the front desk was cold and unhelpful. The carpet smelled musty and bathroom was filled with mold and rust spots throughout. I had to switch rooms because the smell was just unbearable. Although the new did not smell like urine, it still was rusty, small, musty carpet, and moldy. This hotel seems to not be updated in decades. ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE... they offer breakfast for $35 and do not offer free coffee. EVEN IF IT COULDNT GET ANY WROSE... I have other family members who also stayed and they noticed their toilet was leaking. When confronting the front desk about the issue, the front desk gave them more towels and ensure someone would stop by to fix the toilet which maintenance never arrived. When talking with other guests in the lobby they also endured a similar experience and vowed to never stay here again and said THEY HAD TO SLEEP STANDING UP BECAUSE THEIR ROOMS WERE SO DISGUSTING. read more

Rented for a single night prior to our cruise the next morning. In our room we had two dbl beds instead of two queen size beds. It made sleeping tough not to mention non-functioning A/C (we just tried to get the temp down to 72° and cramped space. The outlets for charging your devices wear worn out, so you couldn't plug anything in. It's pretty apparent that the pictures are photoshopped, cause I would've been thrilled to have a room that looked that modern. This hotel will not answer the phone, I have tried calling it 20+ times in the last few days and it rings for 10 minutes and then disconnects. I have been trying to contact them to speak with a manager about not being charged a penalty for canceling my reservation due to the event being canceled, this is beyond my control and therefore I dont feel it's right to be penalized me for that. I've spoken with the main Holiday Inn corporation but this hotel is a franchise and they have the prerogative to make the decision to charge me that fee. But since I haven't been able to speak to a manager it's a little hard to request that I not be charged due to circumstances beyond my control. Our First time in Miami and we were recommended this hotel being that it's close to the port and the cruise ships. Very nice view from upper floor room. It's all about location, location, location. Somewhat friendly staff for the most part but the worst thing about all this is that our room smelled of cigarette smoke and the bathroom stunk like wet rags or urine. I asked housekeeping for something to mask the smell and give us washcloths because there weren't any and she said she was done and to go to the front desk. I don't think she spoke English well. We got our washcloths but the stench stayed. I had to go out and purchase Lysol and some wipes but the smell still lingered. I'm not sure if it was the shower curtain or what but it was terrible. For the amount charged these rooms should be better than this. Nobody should have to go out and purchase items to clean a high dollar room. The rooms were so cold at night, we had to ask for blankets which we did get quickly. I think that for $400 a night I deserved a better stay. I don't think I would stay here again for that price. I'd rather stay a little bit further away within walking distance and or pay an uber to take me around. Everything is very expensive around here. It's a shame, not worth $400. read more

This hotel is old. The smell when you come in is like old cologne. When you get into the room the musty smell is si overwhelming. We changed rooms and the same thing. Then there's the issue of the air conditioner. It was at 64 degrees. Couldn't regulate it. No heat either. We froze. No heavy blankets. One face cloth in the room. Not worth what we paid for one night. It was horrible. Oh and don't eat the breakfast. Pancakes where hard on the edges, bacon was gummy. Home fries you could taste they had been frozen. We had multiple people staying and EVERY room was hot. The hotel itself mirrors the state of its air conditioning: showing signs of wear and in dire need of an update. And some of the rooms have bizarre problems, like the accessibility room actually has a HUGE step into the bathroom that's easy to trip on. Of course, the prime location does offer undeniable advantages, particularly for those setting sail on a cruise. However, when the cost is factored in, the value proposition becomes harder to justify. Especially when there's plenty of places next door offering way more value. At least the staff was great and tried their best to help make it a better experience. If it wasn't for them I'd have given this a 1 star. read more

Limited parking is an understatement. There are maybe 20 parking spaces for the entire hotel so don't plan on actually parking valet or at the hotel. The hotel is old and has no sign on the outside so there's a good chance you're gonna drive by it the first time if it's near the date of this post. The carpet in the room is gross. The plaster is falling off the wall in the bathroom. The bathroom is the smallest bathroom I have ever experienced . I'm having to close the toilet lid to put the blow dryer on. But you have to shimmy to open the door to get the toilet paper‍ There's no pen or paper to write on. No here is what's in the area magazine. Nothing to tell me channels there are. There was no iron in my room but an ironing board. The walls are paper thin I can hear the conversations in the room next to me. I was supposed to stay here for three more days, but I will be changing hotels. The only positive is its location is relatively convenient to walk to places. read more

Toilet running all night, sink only had scalding hot water, exposed electrical wires in the room. Everything in the gym is broken and unsafe. Drinking water line which would have gone to a fountain is full of mold! How are people not getting sick from this place? I don't care if the business manager responds to each negative review - they obviously don't care about this hotel and its only positive attribute is proximity to the port. It's a convenient location if you're getting on a cruise, but conditions would be better in a detention center. If possible, book ANYWHERE else. The next morning after checkout they held our luggage and arranged for transport to the port for only $8 each. The room was dated but clean. The airconditioner worked but just barely would get the room to 71. it was fine. But I would have liked it cooler. If it was hot outside like Miami usually is, I would be worried. Great location, bad hotel. You're right across from the Bayside Marketplace where there are lots of shops and food options along the waterfront, so we enjoyed walking over there in the evening. You're also within walking distance from the Kaseya Center concert venue, and there's paid parking out front. Parking at the hotel is $45/night which is probably average for the area. The hotel itself is extremely dated, dirty and falling into disarray. Our air conditioner only blew air, didn't cool down the room. The elevators are quite old and slow and there's no way to get to the lobby via stairs. The beds were comfortable and despite our room being close to the main road it stayed relatively quiet. My friend used his points to stay here which was great but I wouldn't pay to stay here. read more

This hotel totally takes advantage of their location and has let the rooms fall into disrepair. For the price I expected much much better. In my suite 411 the bathroom faucet is broken and leaking into the counter. And even the hundred coats of paint over the bathroom door can't hide the rust. The bathroom walls suffer from poor repairs with holes as paint tries to hide the decay. Staining on the shower walls makes it feel like it's not clean. The kitchen is aged out and has no soap and only a roll of brown paper towels that are meant for public bathroom dispensers. That said I think the cleaning staff does the best they can given the state of things. Nothing was gross or dirty or anything like that. The mattress was decent. The bottom line is this is tolerable for a one night stay if you are heading out for a cruise. I wish I had read reviews as there are better options close enough in this price range. read more

This hotel is an IHG portfolio hotel, their properties is usually top notch but this is beyond argument the exception. Firstly, this hotel should have been demolished 25 years ago, everything about the property spells aged! The lobby looks like a bus terminal and looks and is filthy. My room needed to be completely renovated as there was absolutely nothing inviting about it, it truly looks like a "rat hole". The shower had enough mold to start your own science project and was disgusting. The sink in the bathroom had no cold water coming from the tap and it took about 1/2 hour to find that the cold water feed was turned off, being that I'm a DYI guy I figured it out on my own otherwise I would have never gotten any cold water. The carpeting was filthy, the bedding was old and needed replacement and the entire room was no better than an Army barracks. For $350 a night there are better places to hang your hat and still be close to the Port of Miami, please do yourself a favor, don't stay here! read more

This was my second time staying at this Holiday Inn, because of its location to the Port of Miami cruise terminal. Finding the place was difficult because there was zero signage. Zero. I drove around the block twice before I saw a Holiday Inn valet lot. Check in was set for 3pm. I was told my room wasn't ready and to wait in the newly remodeled lobby. After 45 min, we got our keys and went up to the room. Upon entering room 402, we were hit with a foul smell that was masked with air freshener. Jesus Christ, did someone die in here? It turned out to be the bathroom was full of mold and mildew. The shower, the sink, the walls, the mirror! Disgusting. The air conditioning wouldn't cool under 80, we were sweaty all night. I paid $193 for that room! For what we got, I would have expected to pay $60 and also expect it to offer hourly room rental rates. read more

I checked in on Sunday and the front desk person charged something on my card and didn't tell me. I booked 2 rooms to stayed there for one night. The hotel rooms smell like mildew, it is probably coming from the old air conditioner they use. During the day you don't hear the loud noise when it is running but at night it's the worst. No matter how tired I was, I was not able to sleep the whole night. That noise kept me awake the whole night. There was four of us stayed at this hotel and 3 out of 4 of us got a cold staying there. I think it was the old air condition they had running. It was set at 58 but it never felt that cold in the room. Checked out on Monday morning. Today is Thursday and I got a called from my credit card company said there is a $100 charge from Holiday Inn. My card company filed a fraud report because I told them I don't recognize it and my card got cancelled because of the charge. They charge me additional $100 on top of the rooms I already paid for without telling me. If I could not leave a star I would. Do not stay at this hotel! read more

The rooms need a major overhaul. The only thing really going for this place is the location even though there are a lot of homeless trying to set up camp out front. It is cleaner than YVE a block over but housekeeping still did a half assed job. There were even visible dust clumps on the wall. The pool is closed too. Our friends (that were going on a cruise) booked and paid for a king bed and they couldn't honor the reservation and gave them two free drink vouchers instead. Wouldn't reimburse them for the up charge they paid. Our room was a queen. This doesn't even deserve 1 star. Starting from the beginning, you walk into the lobby and an overpowering smell of incense gave an immediate headache. The only good part of this hotel is the staff were friendly and quick to check in. Arriving in the room, there were multiple problems. 1. The bathroom door was unable to shut/lock 2. The surfaces of everything was covered in dust 3. There were pubic hairs found in the shower 4. The pull out couch bed was broken and unusable with stains everywhere 5. Only one washcloth for a bedroom with 2 beds and a sofa bed - asked for extra wash cloths and there were none so we were provided hand towels 6. Asked for extra blankets - one of them came stained, and several ripped holes all over 7. My personal favorite - I peel the bed sheets back and found BLOOD STAINS. 8. Mold was found on the ceiling - if not for the sofa bed, we would have never noticed because there is some sort of wall structure blocking the view of it We were only staying for one night so we laughed most of the things off, but when the blood stains were found, that was the end of the laughs. Immediately called and complained to the supervisor. Supervisor gave us a new room 2 doors down. When checking everything in the new sheets and beds, the sheets and pillows had some sort of dirt stains on them, hair, and dust still compiled everywhere. Again, if this were more than one night, we would have immediately left. Absolutely disgusting and disturbing. The location: It is in an amazing spot in the heart of the port area, right across from the bayside boardwalk where you can find lots of shops, restaurants and bars.and the FTX arena. And the view of the bay from the hotel room is breathtaking at night and day too. For a holiday inn this is one of the nicest ones, the building is a little outdated but it was clean and pretty well kept. The room: It was nice to walk in to a cold room very nice of them having turned the ac on for us. The bed was clean and very comfortable The TV is a bit old and had issues with signal coming in and out The bathroom was very small though, and the shower had pretty much no water pressure but sufficient supply of hot water. What can I say about this dump? Let's start with the good. It's close to the port of Miami, Bayview Mall across the street, the staff is super friendly, and the bed was very comfortable. Now let's talk about all the bad things the continental breakfast is not included and by the quality of food you wouldn't want to pay for it. Go over to Bayview Mall and eat at La Industria. You will thank me. The safe in the room was broken so keep your valuables close. The bar closes early and the drinks are super expensive especially for a holiday inn. People sleeping outside the hotel on the streets. Elevators are slow so prepare for a long wait time in the morning when everyone is leaving for port. I recommend staying at the Hyatt Place near the MIA airport. read more
