I stayed here for 3 nights, for my back to back pre cruise stay, here is my review: Good: Location, Location, Location. It's in downtown Miami, with lotsa restaurants nearby. There is a Whole Foods half a block away, and majority of the restaurants, including a CVS drug store are in that area, within 2/3 block away from the hotel. Bank atm are across the draw bridge. We didn't use the monorail for we are busy exploring the city by foot, lol. Not so good: The hotel restaurant, Riverview bar and grill - Although lovely, the menu was limiting, the same menu for both lunch and dinner. The wagyu burger was expensive for what you get and bland in taste at best. It's like it's been out there for awhile and just waiting to be order, it's also dry. Cruise line hamburger were much better in taste. The rest of my order including the drinks were delicious ! Solution: Need to expand their menu items. For a " regency" hotel, I was surprised it was very limiting. Expand the dinner menu, I saw a couple of people having dinner at the restaurant, probably fellow cruisers like us. The African American lady host was friendly, hospitable and kind. Reception/ Customer Service - My reservation requires a pre-payment at time of booking, one night stay charged, approximately $200.00, it's already been charged and cleared by my Ccard company some hyatt hotel only do Ccard authorization anywhere between $1.00 - $50.00 when reservation requires a pre-payment. But why in the world, this young Latino man charged me the entire 3 night stay at check in for $927.00 ? My Ccard decline the authorization, I asked to try again was but declined again. Didn't say anything nor didn't apologize either. Imagined my shocked and embarrassment !!! I told him to hold on, scramble my finances for about 5 mins and told him to try again, it went thru this time, but again no apology no word, just handed me my keys and that was it. Maybe the hotel manager need to address the issue re: paid - pre-payment authorization vs credits card authorization at check in. That " too young to know, too young to care mentality" never fails. Noise: For the most part, the hotel is quiet, it just those stupid, ignorant, cacky race car drivers who thinks they own the road, by blasting their (borrowed) sports car engine all day and night ! Not the hotel fault! They were having a renovation/ repair in the lobby while we were there . This hotel is hopping with flight attendants stays and hotel sponsored events. Good: location Bad: you can hear EVERYTHING Ultimately, I chose this hotel due to location. It is in the heart of downtown and you can walk to the pier, restaurants, and the river. However, the walls are paper thin! There's signs all over the floors saying quiet hours at 9pm to 7am. But you can still hear your neighbors laughing and having full on conversations. I don't even think they're loud! Also the hotel is located right outside the river bridge. Every few minutes you can hear the bells and whistles outside the window on top of the typical Miami honking. I just expected more from this hotel being a Hyatt Regency. Oh well. read more

Legitimately worst hotel I've ever stayed at 1. Room keys randomly stop working. Had 2 fail at 1am for no reason and got stuck at front desk for 30 minutes 2. Had a stalker in the lobby for 3 days in a row and security barely cared 3. Room service was an actual joke, just used their random in house corner store. Food was stale and microwaved One of these issues is more severe than the others, but all of them are insane. The Hyatt Regency brand is still good considering the age of many of its hotels. This the Regency Downtown was built in 1981. Once one of the tallest buildings, it's now dwarfed by all of its neighbors. Employees were friendly, helpful and accommodated our request for a room with a view of the river. The rooms were okay, but not spectacular by modern standards. The exterior windows were dirty with salt spray. Balcony doors have been closed off for years. The bed was fine and the room and hallways had fresh carpet. The lobby is spacious and opens below to the Miami Riverwalk. Lobby renovations are currently taking place due to a broken pipe last fall. Very convenient location if you want to explore downtown. Shuttle to the port if you're going on or returning from a cruise. Hotel breakfast buffet is excellent but it's about $40 per person. Worth it, in my opinion. read more

Basically, we flew from Detroit into FLL on our way to Miami dock terminal A. I thought it would be smart to spend true night just up the road, in Miami. It really wasn't. Might have worked out better to uber from Hollywood to the dock. I learned there's mass confusion in so many Miami hotels on a Sunday morning. Cruising day. This Hyatt was over run by young people dressed to the nines for a Moana musical. Hundreds of people in the lobby, restaurant and walking on the grounds. Didn't phase the cast and crew at the Hyatt. They dealt with the adversity like a walk in the park. Calmly and professionally. The room was pristine. Beds comfortable. Shower pressure more than adequate. TL;DR Bring your own pillows Hyatt Regency Mami is located in a great area within walking distance to a lot of great stores and shopping centers. It's not close to the beach so take that into account. The pool is small but great to go for a little swim not doing laps in it. Check in was smooth and service was great, being able to cast to the tv by connecting it through google cast was an excellent feature that I want to see in more hotels. So why only 3 stars? The pillows. Good grief. I had 3 pillows on top of one another and they were barely able to equal 1 at home. These pillows were atrocious. I contemplated going to Target and buying a 20$ pillow because of how bad these were and if I stayed 1 more night I would have. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the room had a nice view. Interestingly, there's no 13th floor--it jumps straight to 14. The hotel is very well-located, close to the underground tunnels connecting to the parking garage, convention center, and public transportation, making it convenient for getting around. This is a great spot for conferences, with well-set-up terrace-level conference rooms and excellent amenities. The conference snacks were a highlight, with unique options like poke and a popcorn bar. However, the general food was just average--dry meats and bland sandwiches, typical of standard hotel catering. The biggest issue was cleanliness. Upon check-in, we found towels left on the bathroom floor from the previous guest, even though fresh towels were provided. There was also leftover food in the fridge. During our stay, housekeeping remade the beds but left used towels on the floor overnight, though they did provide new ones. The bathroom experience was mixed--the shower heated quickly, which was a plus, but the liquid body soap was impractical without a loofah, and bar soap had to be requested separately. The walls were thin, making it easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms, and we could even feel vibrations from kids jumping on beds next door. Another downside was the balcony, which is welded shut, so there's no option to step outside. WARNING: Do NOT use the valet! The valet at the front is NOT affiliated with the Hyatt and charges a ridiculous $55 per day. Instead, park at the conference center for $20 per day. The valet staff is extremely rude--rather than answering questions, they rush up and try to snatch your things. They also try to keep pricing a secret, requiring multiple asks to get a straight answer. Worst of all, they don't tell you where your car will be parked. A friend who used their service instead of the conference center had to wait 30-45 minutes just to get his car back, despite urgently needing to leave. Avoid them at all costs--0 for the valet. Final Thoughts: Great for conferences with excellent amenities. Ideal location with underground tunnel access to parking, public transit, and the convention center. Not ideal for a relaxing stay--cleanliness issues, thin walls, and a locked balcony. DO NOT use the valet--overpriced, rude, and slow. Good for business, but not great for comfort. read more

Wow. The Hyatt Regency Miami has been amazing. The location is exceptional along the Miami river with stunning views. The three rooms are spacious and fully equipped for a comforting stay. The customer service here is one of the best. We dealt with Chris Johnson, the operations manager, and he has gone above and beyond to make our stay memorable I highly recommend this hotel if you're going on a cruise it is only a 10 minute drive and a low priced Uber or shuttle. We also dined at the hotel Grill for dinner and then for brunch. Very pleased with the food. We would stay here again without any hesitation. read more

The hotel was just old. The walls were so thin I could hear everything. I could not sleep at all in this hotel. Between them cleaning at 11pm at night, airplanes flying overhead, people slamming their doors, and people talking on their phones at 2am I could not sleep. If you are a light sleeper or have a hard time sleeping this is not the place for you. They had a white noise machine but it wasn't enough. This place needs a facelift. read more

Absolute Failure of a Hotel - Do Not Trust This Property This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and Hyatt Regency Miami should be ashamed. I booked and paid for my room weeks in advance. After enduring fourteen hours of flight delays, I did the responsible thing and called the hotel at 4:00 PM to let them know I would be arriving late. I was explicitly clear that the room was already paid in full and that my late arrival should not be an issue. Apparently, none of that mattered. When my wife and I finally arrived from the airport around midnight, exhausted and dragging ourselves in after an awful travel day, the front desk handed me a letter stating that they had sold my room. No warning. No phone call. No email. Just "sorry, we gave your room away." Their solution? They "booked" us into a cheaper hotel down the street. So instead of checking into the hotel I had already paid for, at 1:00 AM my wife and I were forced to drag three suitcases down the street to a budget hotel we did not choose, after a full day of delays. This is completely unacceptable under any circumstances, let alone after confirming my arrival earlier that same day. This hotel cannot be trusted to honor reservations, even prepaid ones. If Hyatt Regency Miami is willing to walk paying guests without notice, late at night, after confirming arrival, then your reservation means absolutely nothing to them. No apology that matched the situation. No compensation offered on the spot. Just a piece of paper and indifference. If you value your time, your money, or basic human decency after a long day of travel, do not stay here. I will never book this property again, and I strongly recommend others think twice before trusting them with their plans. read more

We made a reservation thru online with less than 24 hours before the stay of our staff, we used an AMEX card. when the guest arrives they demanded a physical card so I spoke to the front desk to please send a credit card authorization. Unfortunately, what she said should be done 24 hours prior the arrival date , how is that possible when its an urgent booking. We stayed here for one night before a cruise and were upgraded to a room with a pretty sick view of the river right outside the hotel. We could see the bridge going up and down and all the traffic downtown. It was quiet and interesting to watch. The room itself was nothing impressive. It seemed kind of put together as an after thought, like there was a fridge, but it wasn't even pushed back in the right spot, and the bathroom was very unexciting. The shower wasn't super nice, the shower head was whatever. I ended up ordering from the restaurant downstairs, and the food was pretty good, although pricey and for small amounts. I also got there and asked for extra parmesan cheese, and the lady gave me so much attitude. It was a turn off. Finally, I asked the front desk for a box of tissues on our way out because my 4 year old had a bad runny nose, and the guy at the front desk basically told me he couldn't get me one, and that I could go back upstairs and find a housekeeper to give me one if I wanted. It just felt a little lazy and unhelpful. I've stayed at a lot of Hyatts and that usually is not the experience I have! read more

Fast and smooth check in after coming from a redeye. I appreciated that a room was readily available early in the morning. The lobby was grand and pretty with high ceilings. There was a snacks and to go market to was open pretty late. There were also a restaurant and a bar right next to it that we didn't get a chance to try since I only stayed here for one night before a cruise. I only booked this place to sleep and chose Hyatt Regency for the better-priced Hyatt within the area. However, for a Hyatt regency I must say that I expected a little more in terms of having more toiletries readily available. Everything had to be requested including robe, slippers, and other simple toiletries. The only things available were body lotion, shampoo/soap/conditioner, ironing board, and hair dryer-- very basic. Stayed in a double bed room, bed was comfy but only came with 2 pillows each. The room was outdated. I would have appreciated a full body mirror in the room. The open closet area was pretty large and can fit 2 open suitcases. There's a half wall that divides the room from the bathroom. Sink outside and toilet/shower separate. The room was on the 18th floor that looked like it had a balcony but you can't open the door/window. The window was also pretty dirty that you can't really see past it. If I were to come back in the area and need a place to just sleep, I'd probably still come back here for its price and location. read more

There were two small balconies with sliding doors that were dismantled. Breakfast in cafe was good, but I had to send my pancake back because it was cold. I booked two rooms and received an upgrade to a higher floor. The room was very large, the bed was comfortable, the noise was non-stop. They provide white noise generators in the room. I strongly recommend using them. The endless honking was kinda amazing. Drivers in Miami using the horn for every bit of communication - irritation, prodding, attention, even to say "thank you". Everywhere else drivers give a friendly wave, in Miami its a couple horn taps. I'm not particularly angry about this because the hotel has no control over that. I wasn't particularly happy with how understocked their little market was. They ran out of medicine and never restocked. The service here was far below what I expect from a Hyatt. People looked like they were being held hostage. They were minimalistic in talking and genuinely unhelpful. There is this little restaurant where breakfast was served out of. The breakfast spread was really good, but once they found we were receiving a free breakfast we were quickly forgotten about. We stopped by for cocktails one evening and were ignored. I took off a start be sue my balcony door did not open. Great location in Brickell and other walking access to Brickell center mall just a 10 mins walk. The hotel is very clean and the staff are courteous. My room was on the top floor and provided a good view but the balcony door did not open. They have a cafe/ market on the bottom floor as well as a restaurant but trust there are so many cafes and restaurants within walking distance it's best to explore. There is also a huge CVS about 5 mins walking and it's 10 mins drive to Miami cruise port and they also have a shuttle service for 9 dollars pp. the hotel is a bit dated but I seemed to have gotten a room that was refurbished recently so my bathroom was more modern, but there were clear signs of it being outdated in rooms. The price is right and they do have a nice walking area on the bottom on the river but so much construction that the views are not so great. read more

Update: I am happy how Hyatt team handled my concerns. So overall give 4 stars. Good Room, Poor Service I booked a reservation from December 20 to December 22. On December 20, my flight to Miami was canceled by Frontier Airlines, so I was unable to arrive at the hotel that day. I arrived on December 21, only to be informed that my reservation had been canceled due to a no-show. At that point, the front desk manager came over and told me that my reservation was canceled and that all rooms were fully booked, so there was nothing she could do. I explained the reason for my late arrival, but she remained cold and showed no sympathy or willingness to help. I then asked why the hotel had not contacted me before canceling the reservation. She claimed that the hotel did not have any of my contact information other than my name. I asked her to print my information from the hotel system, and my phone number was clearly listed on the paper. She then pointed to the number and told me it belonged to Expedia. At that moment, I was unsure whether the manager was unfamiliar with her own system or simply being dishonest. When I requested a refund, she told me to contact Expedia. I called Expedia and opened a case requesting a refund for the second night. Later, I discovered that the hotel still had rooms available that evening. When I asked the manager why she had said there were no rooms available, she changed her explanation and said that because my reservation was canceled, she no longer had a room reserved for me. This response made little sense. If my reservation was already canceled, saying there was "no reservation room" is irrelevant--especially when rooms were available. At no point did she attempt to help, offer alternatives, or even inform me that I could make a new reservation. It felt as though her only goal was to have me leave the hotel. I believe this manager needs proper training in customer service and problem-solving. In such a highly competitive market, this level of service reflects poorly on the hotel. I continue to trust the overall quality of Hyatt and did make another reservation on my own. However, my experience with this particular manager was extremely disappointing. read more

This is a very decent hotel, my one star review is based on my experience but I think people can have a great experience here. The good thing about this hotel is that it's very decently located. Walking/short car ride to bay side and the city centre. The river walk literally runs through the hotel and it's located in a great place. The negatives: I'd say the hotels are small and not up to par to other hyatts I've been in and the pillows are not comfortable. Those were minor issues and if those would have been the only issues it would have been a 5 star review. However, the biggest reason why we had a horrible experience is because we mainly booked this hotel because we were told that this hotel had free parking for guests. That reason alone was why we decided to book with them! A couple days before we we arrived we called to ask about the parking logistics. They told us that it was $20 a day. By then it was too late to switch hotels and $20 wasn't too bad per day. When we got there we were told that it was $20 every time you take out the car and come back in! Then they also said if we leave the car there overnight it's $55 dollars! So every night we had to find a place to leave the car. I wish the people would be more knowledge about the information before they give it l. When we brought that issue up to the front desk they just gave more attitude. This hotel is in the heart of Miami. 20 to 30 minutes drive from MIA airport depending on traffic. This hotel is on the Miami river walks. Very clean thru out including the public bathrooms. It's attached to Miami Convention center so there will be events here and will be crowed and loud. The gym is very small with limited equipments. The pool is very small (nothing special) but can be relaxing. Walk to the back of the hotel is where the river walk on Miami River is located. Nice and peaceful walk along the river is beautiful with the boats driving by. read more

Sadly very disappointing for a Hyatt brand. Left a tank top there and called immediately that night I checked out. They told me HK was off and would follow up (I received a follow up that they would follow up). Called a week later and they said nothing was turned in - but I knew no one checked with the laundry company or just felt disinterested to help. Why didn't the HK manager call me? Couldn't imagine if I actually left something of higher value. Also had colleagues check in with a used robe in the room. I get things happen but the lack of follow up or resolution is honestly quite disappointing. read more

Location-wise, this is one of the better hotel options in Miami. Hyatt hotels are usually some of the better bargains for lodging and this was a great find at a reasaonble price by miami standards. The hotel is under renovations so there is some construction going on but it will pay off in the long run. Had a night stay here on a Tuesday before my 311 cruise set sail the next day at the port. My room gave me a nice overview of the water, bridge, and shopping areas. The room is quite clean and neat. I also like the large lobby and lounging area. There were a few conferences here so people were trafficking in and out during my check-out. Don't know why the negative reviews as I was quite satisfied with my stay. With Hyatt as my primary hotel choice, I might find myself here again when I'm back in MIA. read more

This Hyatt has a really pretty lobby, and it's always cold. It's good when the weather is too hot outside. Checking in and out were easy. I would say this is a nice place to get sleep at night. The amenities are not that great. There is a restaurant downstairs, and the market is great for to-go and snacks. The pool is mid. The bed was comfy. The bathroom didn't have a fan, so we had to keep the down open to air it out. I checked in early, but the room wasn't ready. They were able to hold my bags downstairs by the sliding doors. SCAM. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. BEWARE! My husband, our 1-year-old baby, and I had an event in Miami, so we booked what we thought was a nice stay at the Hyatt Regency Miami. We live in Naples, so we drove over expecting a smooth experience. Instead, it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences ever. First, the booking process is misleading. Their "website" is actually run by a third party, not the hotel itself. I was charged $223 for a suite with a king bed, balcony, breakfast, and parking included. Sounds fair, right? Wrong. When we arrived, parking was a nightmare. The hotel has valet, but since I booked with parking included, I expected a real hotel lot. Instead, I was told "the hotel has no parking." Their version of "self-parking" means "go find your own public parking near the hotel." We wasted time in Miami traffic trying to figure this out before finally giving up. Then came the balcony issue. Our room on the 17th floor had a balcony--but it was sealed shut. When we asked for a usable balcony (since that's what we paid for), we were told the hotel doesn't have any accessible balconies at all. So why advertise it? That's like saying a room has a kitchen you're not allowed to use--meaning you don't actually have one. Next morning, I went down for breakfast, which was supposed to be included. The waiter offered me a choice between the à la carte menu and the buffet. Naturally, I chose the buffet. The food was terrible: watery yogurt, rubbery bagged eggs, barely edible. Service was nonexistent--only coffee was offered. Then I got a bill for $43.50 for a tiny plate I barely touched. When I called the manager, Mr. Rodriguez, instead of apologizing, he sat at my table to defend the charge, even making comments about me "sharing food with my baby" as if that excused it. Completely insulting. Eventually, he removed the charge, but the unprofessionalism was unbelievable. At checkout, I spoke with another manager who finally admitted the "official website" is actually a third party. Her apology was to give me a $5 discount--on what, I'm not even sure, since I'll never return. In Naples, we stayed at the Bellasera Hotel, a true luxury hotel where you actually get what you pay for. At Hyatt Regency Miami, it was all lies, hidden charges, and awful service. For just $10 more, you can stay at the Hilton next door, which actually has balconies and multiple pools (I could see them from my closed balcony window). Do not waste your time or money here. SCAM, poor service, false advertising. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

Amazing city views! Perfect morning enjoying the Riverwalk. The room was extremely clean and fresh . The bed was comfortable and we were not disturbed by street noise, the hotel also provided ear plugs and a white noise machine (we found neither necessary). Falsely accused of smoking -- completely unacceptable and upsetting experience. We stayed one night at the Hyatt Regency Miami Downtown -- two adults and our two young children. We are a non-smoking family and absolutely did not smoke in the room. In fact, our room was on a high floor where windows and balcony doors couldn't even be opened. There were clearly working smoke detectors, and our kids were with us the entire time. After we checked out, we were shocked to receive an email accusing us of smoking. They sent a photo of a few cigarettes next to a strange-looking tube -- possibly even drug-related -- with a name written on it. It was clearly not ours and felt completely staged. No one contacted us during our stay, and we left the room clean and respectful, as we always do when traveling. This accusation felt random, dishonest, and frankly very upsetting, especially as a family just passing through for a single night. Looking online, we've seen others share similar experiences -- this seems to be a pattern, and it's extremely disappointing. We will not be staying here again, and we hope Hyatt takes a serious look at how these types of claims are being handled. Trust matters. read more

The location of this hotel is just perfect. There are plenty of restaurants around within walking distance. South beach is $13 Uber ride away. The actual hotel is pretty nice, you can tell it has been renovated recently but definitely there are some noticeable old elements that shows the age. For example the sink in the room and the faucets and the shower definitely need replacement. But overall it has been a great experience, the staff members are friendly and welcoming. read more

Hyatt You know you got that one person that really makes you shine because their light is so bright ! That person is Angie, hands-down my favorite. I had hurt my foot, and she went out of her way to find a baggie of ice for me, I appreciate people like this. Ingrid, Angie, Roal, Caesar and Miguel in the dinning room at breakfast. Made my visit at my Hyatt family hotel fabulous. Katherine in housekeeping was also amazing. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. I really enjoyed my sweet with the view overlooking the river. My bed and pillows were great, the shower could be updated for sure, but it is manageable. The room itself is LOUD because of all the noise coming from the river and traffic down below. The windows are quite thin and the adjoining door to the next room, I could hear clearly conversations in the music they were playing, very annoying. Thank God they give you earplugs. All in all I still enjoyed my visit. I WOULD RECOMMEND read more

Great location! Right on the Miami River and easy walking to many places! The building is beautiful and lobby big and open. The room, however, was disappointing and very outdated. The ceiling is still popcorn and the ceiling light fixtures are decades old.The bathroom sink, shower and toilet area could be from any Red Roof Inn. No robe, no slippers, no snacks, no room service, thin towels and only one tea bag. The faux leather is wearing off on the chairs in the lobby. Some street noise, but they do have a sound machine next to the alarm clock. This hotel should not be in the Regency catagory. Great restaurant staff, very friendly. read more
