I spent last night at the Holiday Inn Saskatoon Downtown. My room was right across from elevators, which was a loud spot ... next time I would ask to be put somewhere else. There was a kid who loved to scream as he/she got on and off the elevator. Awesome! The bed was comfy. There were a couple chocolates next to the bed. There was a minifridge and Keurig coffee maker in the room. WIFI was free ... I found it fairly speedy. Parking was $15/night in the garage next door (if you catch the right elevator, you can go to your level in the parking garage from the hotel). There was a restaurant/bar in the lobby and lots within walking distance. The microwave and clock were both set 15 minutes fast. You'd think the person cleaning the room would have noticed. I tried to fix the time on the clock but couldn't figure it out. So when I woke up in the middle of the night, I did some math to figure out the correct time. read more

This is a great location. Close to night life and restaurants. They have indoor heated parking and it's big enough to accept a regular 4wd truck and the cost is less than outdoor parking near by. The room was nice and comfy and the staff friendly. They have a decent bar and restaurant on premises as well as a pool. Overall I would stay again for the location and value. read more

This hotel is the newest in Saskatoon and my mom and I checked in on a very busy weekend. Situated on a busy street right near several other hotels and the big convention centre this new hotel looked bright and shiny against the rest of the buildings in the skyline. We walked in to see a stunning fountain centrepiece, beautiful furniture and all sorts of cool decor details. The front desk transaction was fairly quick and smooth and after navagating through parking garage (my mom and I have some serious parking issues, I have no idea why) we made our way upstairs to our room. The rooms were large and still had that "new build" smell. The carpet was soft and the bathroom was STUNNING (we did run into a bit of an issue where the bathroom door didn't actually have a handle and instead it slid shut pocket door style, but my mom and I often have issues with things when we travel together... the issues are usually related to us and not the things). We ventured down to the pool and hot tub area which was fairly large and had lots of windows, it was nice not to feel so closed in like you do in some other hotels. The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant because it was included in our rate and I have to say that was probably the best part of our stay--the breakfast buffet was TOTALLY AWESOME. Three different kinds of eggs bennie made to order, a cold cereal bar, a yogurt bar with tons of toppings to choose from and the usual eggs, pancakes, french toast and meats to choose from as well. Also coffee, their coffee was good and strong and they didn't skimp on it. If you are in Saskatoon I would definitely recommend staying here. Great service, location and product. read more

Okay I am going to tell you right now, this hotel is going to get a lot of qualms about being expensive, and it is, however, all hotels in Saskatoon are expensive. I think the Super 8 goes for $140-$160. So I am choosing to disregard the expensive part, because really, they are the newest hotel in town and can charge $210, most hotels are only about $30 to $40 dollars cheaper. The hotel is brand new and it shows. The rooms are big and modern, the hallways are really wide, and the front lobby has 4 apple computers to use for free. It is quite beautiful for being a Holiday Inn (not that Holiday Inn's are ugly, they just have a very "chain like" feel about them). What I found weird, they didn't have any towel or robe hooks in the bathroom. They give you a complimentary bathrobe to use, but where am I suppose to hang it after my shower? I thought, okay I will throw it on the floor with the towels and get a fresh one tomorrow. yeah, the maid just flung it over the bathroom door...........really weird. Maybe my room was the only one that didn't have a hook.......maybe they are going to install them later? I don't know, but I found it odd. Also, the restaurant downstairs definitely needs to work on the food. I like to think that since they are new, it will get better? I don't know, but I would definitely eat else where until they get it figured out. Hopefully that changes, but again in there defense, I don't like 95% of restaurants in Saskatoon, so maybe Saskatoonians just like different food flavors and qualities than I do????? read more
