The Inventory is severely limited. Examples: only four French white burgundies (e.g. Chablis; aka Chardonnay.) All mediocre: no Macon, no Puilly Fuisse, no Premier Cru, no Grand Cru. An equally disappointed array of Red Burgundies; a thin selection of Bordeaux. Astonishingly they do (did) carry a suburb French rose (Tavel.) It must have been unwitting luck. No recognizable (good) California wines. The chardonnays, the Zinfandels, the Pinot Noirs, the Sauvignon Blancs (aka Fume Blancs) are all from undistinguished wineries. Microscopic selection of Oregon wines (perhaps one good Pinot Noir). Btw, apparently they don't realize that Oregon and Washington are noted for their Chardonnays... Spanish: no Albarinos; no Rubera del Duero... Goodish small offering of Chilean and Argentine wines (btw, Malbec is THE best wine from Argentina, yet they had more Argentine cabernets...) Really, really, really poor selection of sparkling wines. Relative to the rest, this isn't a place where you're going to find an array of single malt scotches, or brandies or cognacs. The liquor selection is decidedly middle brow. Okay, so you're in Glenmont and you understandably don't want to go to Mayone's (yuck) so you come here and settle for something that they do have. Well don't expect any customer service. Salesmen are curt, uncommunicative, not given to saying thanks. If you are in their "wine club" you'll need to remind them/they won't ask. In fact, you'll probably need to remind them that they are supposed to give you a discount if you buy six bottles. And, even if you are the only person in the store and they have nothing else to do, they will not waste any time exchanging pleasantries -- unless you are a younger woman. And please explain to me why they can handle every single bottle of wine you purchase but can't put those bottles in a bag for you. The answer is that they don't want to be bothered (now COVID is a convenient excuse.) Despite the settling and the physical store, the jello shots for sale on ton the counter define the place, as well as other rock gut on shelves adjacent to the entrance. I really don't know why this place is pretending to be a purveyor of fine wine. Their rent is paid by selling box and jug wine and novelty bottles of cheap liquor. What a wasted opportunity. Good service might compensate for the lack of greater inventory/an excellent selection might make up for rude service (thing Empire Wine.) Unfortunately, if you want a good bottle of fine and don't want to go to Albany, you'll need to drive around Delmar and head to Slingerlands.

Since I was shopping there today, I figured it was time to visit... I won't be using that "out of my way" line any longer. For me, this store compares favorably to one I frequented when I lived in Dutchess County, Viscount. The whiskey selection is extensive, and they let you know that with the running total on the wall. I saw some harder-to-find bottles, but at the same time, two of my regular go-to bottles were absent. There's certainly enough other options. I really like the organization of the liquors as well. Everything was easy to find. Similar to the whiskey, the wine selection is also impressive, including the New York wines in their own area. Though once again they didn't always have specific ones I like but enough other options to satisfy me. The card was easy to get. They scanned my driver's license, I completed and signed a sheet (note that there is an option to select or not whether to receive e-mail notifications), and a minute later, I had my card, plus some unexpected discounts on the bottles I purchased today. This is definitely another liquor store to consider if you are looking for a variety of bottles at one time.

Well, I am here to tell you, the rumors are true! They have a ton of barrel picks. I grabbed the Green River barrel pick and the 1792 full proof barrel pick. I tried the Green River. Woah, it's delicious. It comes in at 132 proof but it drinks much lower and has all the complexities you look for in a great sipper bourbon. Worth the trip! These three gentleman do not push you to purchase anything, they're easy going and friendly. They host wine sampling nights on Friday evenings. Update: 7/30/2018 Even after moving out of center square, I still travel down here from Saratoga Springs to purchase my wine. This store is a hidden gem, it may not be as big as empire wine or all star wine and liquors in Latham, but it has all the hard to acquire, high quality selections that nether store offers. For example, I can not obtain the 2014 Domaine Eden Pinot Noir anywhere else but Capital wines. Other stores sell the more expensive, the same vineyard Pinot noir but from the Santa Barbara location. This year marks their ten year anniversary in business, and they provide such a inspirational selection of high-quality wines, it's my personal favorite wine store when I'm buying wine for someone special, cheers :)

There was a board welcoming the guests when you walked around to the event area and the hosts names were incorrect on it. Do you not even know the names of the people paying you? The grass was not mowed, which was dangerous, especially for women with heels. Just no F's were given at all. There were no water pitchers or water glasses at the guest tables. The only water available was a serve yourself container of tapwater with plastic glasses at the bar. There wasn't enough food for everyone at the event. The pizzas were bland and soggy on the bottom. Pizzas go on the bottom of the pizza oven, not on racks inside the pizza oven. The only other things served for dinner were pasta and meatballs and a bruschetta platter. The pasta was undercooked, and the sauces were on the bland side. I didn't bother with the bruschetta. The event was outside and although during the day it was reasonably warm, it was freezing after sundown. Don't they have heaters for outside events? Overall, there was just no real organization for this event on the behalf of the vendor. It was obvious to me that they treated this event and its hosts like they didn't spend enough money on it. You really shouldn't be treating guests a certain way based on how much they spend at your venue. That is not what hospitality is about. My advice would be to send everyone employed to hospitality training and to learn how to make food properly.

Boscia's isn't a huge store but they do have a pretty decent selection of stuff, and I've found their prices to be cheaper than some of the other stores in the area. It's worth checking them out if you're not too far away.
