We moved my mother into the community in November 2018. During her time at the community, she enjoyed most of the activities, meals and staff. She had a large 1-bedroom apartment that had been well-maintained. The facility is older and needs a few updates (some of which have been done recently). While Mom was well, this was a perfect place for her. Unfortunately, Mom started to decline soon after moving in and she had to move out in April 2019 and into a nursing home. The staff at the community were kind and concerned about Mom's health. We did use outside services for a brief time to check on her & ensure medications had been taken. Mom only spent 66 days in her apartment out of the six months she had leased. She is doing well in her new place at the nursing home. The lease is month-to-month. The community requires a 30-day notice for move-out. There is a catch - if you voluntarily move out and do not give notice at the end of the month, you will be held over until the end of the following month (i.e. give notice on the 2nd of January, you are financially obligated through the end of February). Even if a resident dies, 30 days notice is required. The language in Mom's lease was a bit confusing - stating that if she required a higher level of care, the lease terminates. It also doesn't specify if wraparound applies to death or if the facility terminates the lease. My point of bringing this up is to make CERTAIN you understand the stipulations up front. The facility management pointed to corporate's guidelines and that "their hands were tied". One would think that if a resident required a higher level of care, only a 30-day notice would be sufficient (as is law in Tennessee). The practice seems a bit unfair in holding a senior on a limited budget beyond a reasonable notice period. Also, make sure you have a plan in place should your loved one need assistance with anything - this is not an assisted living facility, nor do they have nurses on site. We knew this up front, but didn't have a clear plan in place should Mom's condition change. read more

I will begin with the first six in order of her becoming acquainted: Amanda, Cindy, Kim, Marisha and Sabrina with Uffleman Estates. And Katy with Addus, an in-house provider of al a carte care services. Yes, they are all kind and respectful. What is truly appreciated is how responsive they are, helping us navigate this new journey. My sister and I anguished for months, wish we had Let Go and Let God sooner. Holiday Uffelman Estates - Mom and one of her Great-grandsons. - Retirement Homes Near Me - Clarksville, Tennessee

I just left Uffelman Estates after having lived there for 18 months. I am now at a point that I can live in a regular apartment. When I first got there Covid lock down restrictions were in place so everyone was confined to their rooms. There were no activities and meals were delivered to your room which resulted in restricted amounts of things like milk and other drinks,and limited entrees. Even with all that if you lived on the floor delivered to last sometimes there wouldn't be enough. Especially true at dinner. There was limited van service to doctors visits if you could make an appointment weeks in advance. When Covid restrictions were lifted things did get better. Activity's were provided and shopping trips were reinstated. However the restrictions on days for doctors appointments were still in place,Mondays &Wednesdays only between 9 &11Am (try making an appointment within those confines) & trips to Walmart on Tuesdays &Thursdays (later changed to Fridays) but you only had 1 hour to shop (sometimes 90 minutes). There is a problem with staff turn over, the cleaning ladies also serve meals & they cannot keep a driver for the van so shopping sometimes wasn't available. & there wasn't anyone there for maintenance problems. They would get an Uber for doctors appointments. But All this was happening when Aprices were increased. My biggest worry however was the safety problem. The PA system only broadcast in the halls & sometimes it wasn't possible to hear announcements. This happened several times when a fire Alarms were broadcast . Also if you could not ambulate without the use of a Walker or wheelchair you could not leave in an emergency because the only way out was 1small elevator and stairs. This meant people on the 2nd & 3rd floors could not leave the building. This was especially a problem at night when the staff was gone. Everyone left at 7:30 PM till the next morning at 7:00AM so there wasn't anyone there in case of an emergency. They did provide a personal alarm (I've fallen & I can't get up type of thing) but you would need to tell them your address and what was wrong to get help & not everyone was able to do this. Also separate a sitter type service was available but the aides had no medical training & the night aids especially were very rude. Bottom line is if you aren't 100% this isn't a good fit. I also had a major problem when I left. Even though I gave the required 1 month notice to vacate & left before the 1st of the next month occurred, rent was withdrawn from my checking account. I contacted the facility the day the withdrawal occurred March 11( I gave notice January 25 paid rent for February and turned my keys in on February 26) I was told the person who did the finances was out till the following week. The next Monday, March 14, I was told a request had been submitted for a refund. I had to contact them 3 more times Each time I was told they were working on it. I didn't get my refund until I contacted the fraud department at Navy Federal, February 23rd. They contacted the company on my behalf and I received my refund the next day. read more

My father has been there well over a year. He loves it and so do I. The people are like family, they care for dad and his needs very well. He has improved health wise and is making friends which improves his life so much. They offer fun activities and outings and the food is very good. I've eaten with dad many many times and have never been displeased. Dad is on a very strict income and wish it was a lot cheaper but with all they offer I totally understand the price. They have sitters there to for hire also which I use to help me with dad. Since this is Independant and NOT Assissted living it helps ease my mind that they are there when I cannot be. Stay far away from this place. Everything looks beautiful and wonderful sales talk to get you to move in. Very expensive and lists many services such as a van to take you shopping and to doctor. Gourmet meals. My mom, 85, moved in 30 days ago and has loss 8 pounds and has developed high blood pressure due to stress. They run out of food often and especially at the end of the month. Last night she was suppose to get a pork chop with vegetables. They served her a bag of potato chips and cold egg salad sandwich. Lack of dining room staff causes each meal to take 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get served (times 3 meals a day that's 6 hours sitting in the dining room waiting for an egg salad sandwich). Her studio room is suppose to get cleaned once a week. They do not have the staff to do this regularly. The staff that serves your meal is also the staff member that cleans your studio apartment. The van has been broke for 2-weeks. Uffelman Estates has made no effort to provide van services. If you complain loudly they will give you money for a taxi so you can get your medicine picked-up. The staff at this assisted living home is constantly turning over. A non-caring, no compassion for the elderly attitude prevails from upper management. I would give this place zero stars. read more
