More so, per Iowa law, you cannot take vehicles from private property without property owner consent. Joe's made no contact with me before having the vehicle towed. After contacting them and being hung up on, I brought my lease agreement into their office, where they still refused to return funds for the illegal, unauthorized tow. I had had it after Firestone had done that to me and it was 3 in the afternoon. I started my day doing only to find a place I could afford and trusted. My late mom's voice in my head, the whole time, repeating, take it to the dealership. So I did, thinking that they would be the most expensive of all. I WAS WRONG. I walked in, thinking the worst. In walks Blake. I told him all that I'd went through, and HE LISTENED. He took less than 5 minutes to quote me around $70 and asked me if I could come back at 3 that day. I'm sixty one, but I felt like 16 and wanted to jump, but didn't. LOL I would have broke a hip or something. Anywayz, I finally got my oil change, and all the extra stuff that they do and the invoice at the bottom was $69.75! It took less than an hour and a half and I was out the door. I will be back and if you think that just because it's the dealership, they hike the prices like I did, think again. This family owned franchise is Iowa nice.

It's stressful buying a car and even more so to have to get one repaired but Deery Brothers Ford Lincoln came through for me. I have a Ford Explorer that one day decided it'd continuously tell me my front passenger door was ajar-- even when it was in fact tightly closed. It was sure it was open and let me know that by constantly flashing an annoying icon on my dash. The interior lights seemed to never turn off and it was unable to lock from the inside. Ugh. Making the appointment was easy. I dropped it off and they determined what was needed. I was informed of the cost and the time frame; the part was to be delivered a week later. We waited for a call to let us know when the part was there but after almost two weeks without a call--made it ourself to inquire. It indeed had arrived. The car was ready that day! Easy peasy. (And quite expensive. We were quoted two different prices during this experience. Initially over the phone what we now know to be the price of the part itself. And then again over the phone, after checking out my vehicle, the part with labor with tax. Eek.) The staff was pleasant and location was super convenient. Overall- I'd come here again and most likely will!

I've bought two sets of Nokians from Linder. I get impatient waiting for OEM tires to wear out so…read morethat I can replace them with Nokians and Linder is where to get them. On recommendation from Joetown they were also recommended to fix an exhaust leak from the flex pipe on my Passat wagon. Joetown could have repaired this with a new expensive part but recommended welding at Linder for 1/3 the cost for an equally reliable repair. Linder had my leak taken care of in less than a day.

The tire pressure warning light came on and the tire was down to 24 lbs from the recommended 33 lbs. I looked online and saw Linder Tire in Iowa City. I called them and they said to drive over, they would try to squeeze me in, which they did. They fixed the tire and I was on my way in little over an hour. I am very grateful to them, they are very professional, efficient and super nice folks.

When BJ arrived he made me feel that was TRULY there to help in any way needed and was so calming. Which in turn made me feel calm in this horrible situation. He towed our truck to his shop that had a new sofa in the bed that we had just purchased that day. He maintained excellent communication with me. When we went to his the shop the next day to pick up the sofa, it was only my daughter and myself that could make it. BJ and his buddy loaded the sofa in our truck and strapped it down for us. I am forever grateful for his kindness and help that he provided to us during this tragic time. He is an angel.

On June 29, 2022, my 1996 Chevy Corvette had a tire blowout on interstate 80. I pulled over to the…read moreside of the road and attempted to get the spare tire out but I was unable to release it from the undercarriage of the car. It seemed stuck. I saw that BJ's Towing Service was a short distance away so I decided to call them for help as a last resort. (I do not have a lot of money on me typically. I do live pay check to pay check. I was a little anxious even calling them. In the past, at such a short distance, I've paid around $60 or so for towing services. I had $125 in my account at that time.) I thought they could possibly get my tire down and put it on for me or at least get me off the side of the road. When the tow person arrived, there was NO attempt to change my tire. Didn't even look at it or try. He just hauled my car away to the shop. No special, out of the ordinary care was given to my vehicle. I watched as it was hooked up and secured. The shop was about 12 miles away according to my cell phone. Quite a bit of time passed as I waited in the tire shop (which is apparently a separate business from the towing company.) The guy came back and gave me a bill for $247.50. I just about fell over backwards. I told the guy I didn't have that much on me. I could give him the $120 that I did have. He seemed annoyed and said he'd have to go talk to his boss. That they don't do payment plans. After some time he came back. They decided if I left my debit card information and my personal information and promised to pay the balance as soon as I could get it back into my account they would let me have my car back. I hadn't even figured out what I was doing about my tire, yet. I said this to the guy. He basically said that was not his problem, that was the other business that is there that handles that problem. I was thinking, "great." Now I owe money to the tow people and I still haven't got my car back AND I'm broke. All I really wanted was my spare put on my car. By the way, the tow guy told me he would have charged me double if he had put my tire on for me. He also went on to say that "My boss isn't trying to get rich. He's just trying to help people." Two words... Price Gouging Regardless of whatever fees extra they charged, they still charged me $100 for the mileage alone. According to my research, the average is $2.50 to $7.00 per mile. The greater amount usually being charged to big companies, like trucking companies. $100 divided by 12 miles equals $8.33 per mile charged. In addition to the other $125 Towing Charge and an additional fee of $22.50 for taxes, I assume. Thank you BJ's Towing for making a really bad day even worse. It was all I could do to leave that place with a little dignity by putting my sunglasses on before anyone could see me tearing up out of frustration. (Thankfully, the tire shop waived the fee for putting my donut on my car. The tow company wasn't too concerned about my tire or how that was getting paid for.) Also, my spare was good. The guy wouldn't change it because it was on a Corvette. Corvette's have a low carriage. He wouldn't even mess with it.
