Amazing great staff and care addressed every issue with a great explanation and a care plan.

I went there for an acne scar laser treatment that costed about 2,600 a few years ago. Although it was the cheapest around, I did not get rid of the acne scars. The staff are nice though. The dermatologist and the nurse that worked with her knew what they were doing and I thought they were professional. I went to Holland dermatology for removing a callous behind my ear about ten years ago and I thought it went well because the callous was removed permanently. Overall great company and nice staff. Just wish there was something out there that can remove acne scars permanently. If you do have acne scars I would hold on and hope for better technology in the future that will completely remove your acne scars. read more

my appointment was for a full body exam, with a particular focus on a mole that recently appeared on my back. I have been coming to this office for 15 years. The quality and care has been exceptional at all times. I noticed there were a few negative reviews, but that has not been my experience. On the contrary, I felt a kindness that was authentic, and a level of professionalism that was exceptional. I felt I had a thorough exam which was followed by a freezing agent in some areas where there was a lot of Sun damage . I felt the doctor, the nurse and the receptionist could not have been nicer or more respectful. My own father was a doctor, so I have come to expect a certain level of professionalism among the doctors I engage. in my opinion, this office and staff are tops! read more

This was my first experience at Holland Dermatology, I initially wanted the doctor or PA to check out a couple moles on my back but my PCP also referred me to them to look at a biopsy that I had done on my arm at my precious physical. I saw The PA and she was extremely thorough with my moles and spots and explained what the next steps with my skin biopsy would be best to take. The front desk ladies and the nurse I saw prior to my exam were all wonderful and helpful and answered all my questions about a referral I needed and my next appointment schedule. I had been wanting a yearly skin exam and the PA had no issue with putting me on that schedule. I will definitely continue to come back to Holland Dermatology! read more

bad experience - doctor was kind, the 2 minutes I saw her. Nurse brushed off my concern, and told me they did not have time or interest or concern with issues other than melanoma in my past. Would not allow me to schedule a full skin check (recommended and required by my PCP and other Dermatologist). Condescending and not caring - though nice at front desk, also a bit condescending - told me to get out of the way so I wouldn't hear any phone conversations, while filling out additional paperwork (excessive)....there was no one on the phone in the office area, no talking within the staff, and no one else in the waiting area....Cannot recommend, unless you are seriously ill, they will rush you in and out. How are they supposed to find new cancers if they are not reading previous medical records or doing skin checks? read more

Gals at the front desk are always courteous and welcoming. As usual I was seen shortly after arriving. Karlye (nurse) and Corah (PA) were personable, attentive and thorough when asking questions about my reasons for the visit and also during the exam. They were also informative in talking about future treatments and follow-up. I did not feel rushed. I have been going to HD for years and appreciate them. read more

I called and made an appointment for my young daughter. As I made my appointment I made it very clear there were three things I wanted checked out. No problem, right? I take her to her appointment. Tons of paperwork to fill out. We go into the room. I mentioned the rash and the two other things we were there for. Nurse told me, "we don't have time for those over issues. You will have to make separate appointments for them" WHAT? Why wasn't this expressed when I made her appointment???? Not only was I annoyed/angry but I couldn't stand how in and out the doctor was. I see it's all about how many people they can fit in. I was not impressed. I felt like my daughters issues wasn't their problem. We will not return here. read more

Do NOT use this office.... The PA miss diagnosed my skin cancer..told me it was a "clear mole". I went to my personal physician and was told to go back and have the doctor look at it. She took about 5 seconds to decide it needed to be biopsied. I mentioned the missed diagnosis and , a direct quote from her...."stuff happens" This was a cancer that was missed and she says "stuff happens"!!!! I wonder what else the PA missed during my 2 minute full body screen. Also the office manager was extremely rude when he called about insurance. Stay away from this office...... read more

Absolutely everyone, from the doctor to the tech, to the nurse, are rude and make you feel as though you're taking up their valuable time. My seventeen year old son was rushed through his very first appointment, had questions and was basically ignored. Wow. I have never had this experience from any of the many, many services we've received in Holland. read more

They discharged me because of "not accepting her medication treatment" when they were the ones who gave me no directions and were rude and talked over me and interrupted me. When I called to see why I have to pick something up at the post office, the man hung up on me and yelled at me that I was discharged and can not call anymore. Such poor service and unfriendly people that don't actually want to help anyone. read more

First off, the office was very comfortable and nicely decorated. I was tended to by prompt courteous staff and had my appointment right on time. My nurse was warm and friendly and the physician was as well. I received a complete check for cancer with a couple spots treated. I'm very pleased and happy I chose this office for my skin care. read more

Be careful!!!! This business took money out of my bank account months after I visited them WITHOUT authorization. The matter is being reported to my bank. If not resolved that way, my attorney will be consulted. The staff was extremely rude when I was there and did not call me back regarding the theft of $60 out of my bank account. The "doctor" also took me off the medication I have been on for years and prescribed something else that was exorbitantly expensive and ineffective. I got the feeling that the office had some kind of affiliation with the company that makes the medication. When I saw a new doctor in Grand Rapids, she was horrified by the treatment I received and promptly put me back on my medication. She said she knew exactly who I saw in Holland and that she had heard things about her. I am a registered nurse and I am appalled at the way this facility treats patients. read more

This place cares little about their customer. I was in the waiting room once for well over 15 minutes. Then on my second apt I was late by 5 min, I even texted a response saying I was on my way. The Dr walks out the back with his gym bag in hand and says he cant make it anymore. They then send me a $25 charge because of it. For a first time, no indication nothing. Then I refused to pay it and they started a collections notice process on a first time offense and $25 bucks. When calling them, zero tolerance policy and says well that's our policy. So be ware, if you are late you will get charged, and when they are late your time means nothing. If this was a multiple offense issue, I would understand more. But their absolute lack of customer appreciation and understanding is mid boggling. Their initial findings also were baseless and useless to what was going on. It was hey here try two things and hope for the best! Will never use again or recommend. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS DERMATOLOGIST! There are much better ones in the area! I have to say I was quite appalled by the way my friend was treated when I went with her to her appointment. I accompanied my friend because she has had issues with her breast and is currently figuring out whether it is cancerous or not. We didn't even see the dermatologist, we only saw her PA and a nurse. I really felt that the PA did not take my friends situation seriously. Once she came in she simply looked at the area and what seemed like 4 minutes later was "we'll prescribe you some cream". The problem with that was my friend came in for a biopsy that was referred to her from her surgeon, I don't think the PA even looked at my friends charts because if she did then she would have seen that she needed a biopsy. So when she piped up and mentioned it, she just looked at her like lobsters were crawling out of her ears along with an "i guess we can do that". They took a biopsy of a part that wasn't even effected...and we expected her to take a couple biopsies since, you know, if you're not sure if something is cancerous or not you'd want more than one sample, especially of the area that looks questionable. Not sure if it was because of her age, but I just couldn't believe how dismissive the PA seemed to be. My friend shouldn't have had to remind them that she was here for a biopsy. Overall it was a completely unprofessional experience and I just felt so awful for my friend. I would not recommend going to this dermatologist, it seems like the Doctor does not have good communication with her PA's and the PA's don't seem to even read the documents that are sent over. Especially something as serious as breast cancer. read more

I have been a patient with Dr Barb for several years and find her to be an exceptional Dermatologist. She has literally saved my life through skin exams and discovering melanomas that would otherwise have grown and potentially killed me. She is extremely thorough and knowledgeable about skin diseases. I read other reviews regarding rude staff etc but can report that I have never experienced any such treatment and have only been treated with care and compassion. read more

This is my second year here and I won't be back! I made an appointment for myself and my husband together. This is what we had done the prior year. We get to our appointment on time and wait for the receptionist, they take a copy of our driver's license and insurance cards, along with copays payments. We hadn't left the window and the nurse was calling my husband back, he told her he had to get he's cards and she told him to follow anyway, we late. I explained we had appointments together and she informed me that we were late it was 10:20 (our appointment was 10:15)and that they wouldn't be able to see us together?? I'm shocked as this was extremely rude with attitude she then says she'll get him started and I might be able to join him. I go to the bathroom and next nurse as me back I ask her if I'll be joining my husband and she says "No you should have made the appointments together" I told her that's what I did, and I really dont like how rude everyone has been this far, no response from her. NOW I'm really upset and frustrated, as I want to be with my husband during his exam, I decide that ists best if I dont finish my appointment and just join my husband. Amazingly they didn't care. I never had a place that just makes you feel unimportant. read more

I've never posted a yelp review, but I feel compelled to steer others away from this doctor. We arrived for our appointment 20 minutes early as directed, and then waited an hour to be seen. The doctor was rude, condescending, and entirely unsympathetic to my daughter's condition. She seemed more interested in rushing us out the door than explaining her diagnosis and our treatment options. Our family left the office feeling like we were an inconvenience rather than people seeking advice and medical care. read more

Went in for mole check. Never saw a Doc, just NA. She removed two areas of supposed precancerous tissue. Sent home with no wound care info and no follow up appointment. Had a problem with one of the sites so called and they finally after 6 weeks could get me in. NEVER going back. Went to Dr Bob Lambers in GR until he retired. He was wonderful. Talked down to patients 2. Signs all over the office, warning of extra charges for extra services. Ie taking too much time at time of service 3. This business, the doctor and staff are the best. I've been seeing Dr. Barb for years. They recently helped me thru radiation. They were very understanding that I'm claustrophobic and have panic attacks. They helped me thru it so I could do the treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Barb and all her staff. read more

I see that most, if not all, of reviews that are negative deal with staff rudeness, lack of concern and compassion, strict rules re: extra fees and punitive charges for missed appointments without regard for uncontrollable causes. All I can report is my visit. I found Sarah and doc barb to be professional and sociable. I am an old fart and tend to run off at the mouth. Very poor service and seems only interested in charging fees. Daughter missed a few appointments due to headache which we found out was due to the treatment but was kicked out of Holland Dermatology due to missed appointments. Don't care for attitude of doctor or office manager. read more
