Came in on a Friday night for a snack of Nachos and a couple of drinks. Nachos were piled high and tasty. I got a couple of mixed drinks that were nicely made, and my wife got beer, which was cold and refreshing! Service was very good - our server Morgan checked in on us frequently and quickly got our food and drink to us. It's a no frills kind of place with some video gambling, a bar, and a bunch of tables. Big disappointment! Our food was cold just like the restaurant. I actually saw a couple walk in and sit at the bar who brought in their own space heater! How tacky! Does not care about the neighborhood across the street! Loud music till 3am, waking people up. There customers parking IN peoples yards. Hollar's is a bit of a surprise. It's looks like a random backroad US bar (which is pretty foreign to us Canadians), but has really solid made to order food. The burger was great and complimented by a decent variety of beer by the bottle. I'm a beer snob and was able to find something enjoyable (Fat Tire). If you are not a snob the mainstream draft is CHEAP. My father had a variety platter and it was great and didn't appear to be premade frozen crud. If you like to drink and gamble, come here. They do however, have big TV's with several stations on. I would not recommend this place for kids. Hollar's is a casual bar and grill whose food is a step up from bar food. My husband and I eat here often when we're on our way home from work. The place is popular with real folks. We are warmly greeted soon after grabbing a table. The fried pickles are thin, crispy and hot; they're served w/ your choice of dunk sauce and great with beer. If we're after dinner, I order the lemon/Parmesan baked walleye served w/ crispy tasty sweet potato fries and a side salad. Hubby likes the ribs or the huge pork tenderloin. Prices are reasonable. The waitresses are quick and careful. Hollar's isn't not in the trendy part of town, it is well worth seeking out. They are working to make the food excellent. read more
