The school lunch wasn't horrible in my opinion, I actually enjoyed it (especially the year it was free). The parking situation is a bit upsetting you have to fight for a parking spot but if you don't get one or you start driving in the middle of sophomore year you have to park at the NYSA which means you then have to walk and not only that but on rainy days it FLOODS terribly. There were days, in which it rained that I would go early to give people rides to school from the NYSA because by the time they got there they were soaked! The hallways were also extremely overcrowded (I'm talking shoulder to shoulder- no room for Jesus close) Hopefully the new High School helps a bit with the over crowding. Navarre does offer dual enrollment and online classes through FLVS that I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of! (Best thing I ever did) The principal is also one of the most delightful ladies I have ever met.

My son began struggling in 10th grade while attending a local public high school. I can't begin to tell you how many meetings we had with teachers, counselors, deans, principals, IEP and district representatives. Since he wasn't a discipline problem they kept passing him on. I soon learned my son was an experiment for a floundering system. Following a terrible semester report card, we decided to search for a private school. I was surprised to find Pensacola had so many choices. After visiting most of them, I concluded these private schools were all a one-size fits all style of student and curriculum all except for SoLA. On our second visit to SOLA, Mrs. Tarver "interviewed" my son to identify what was missing in his quest to become a lifelong learner. Finally a school administrator that was willing to get to the core of why he wasn't learning. The SoLA staff had truly taken an interest in my son reaching his full potential. SoLA taught him first; that he must want to learn. Once he learned this skill others followed, including; independent thinking, creativity, integrity and balance, he became happier and believed for the first time he could do this work. He became independent, self-motivated and the stress level in our home dropped significantly. Final thought: While our local schools are struggling to lift performance across the board, SoLA is doing this one student at a time. Teachers will always be underpaid - and underappreciated but the teachers at SoLA know they didn't choose to teach for these reasons. They chose education to change lives and the Pensacola School of Liberal Arts does this greater than anyone else... One student at a time. Congratulations class of 2016 including my son and thank you Jacqui Tarver and Travis Cummings for teaching and caring for all of these children!

Upon entering the building, the atmosphere was depressing and miserable. The quality of the classrooms was not only dull and lacking adequate resources and stimulation for children, but they were also unsanitary and unkempt. The management seemed indifferent and disconnected, appearing apathetic towards the children's well-being, as if they were only there for the paycheck. Moreover, the overall state of the facility raises questions about the value for money. Considering the subpar conditions and the lack of engagement from the management, it seems highly questionable whether the cost of services provided at this childcare facility is justified. Our granddaughter came home with very suspicious…read morebruises on her upper thigh that looked exactly like finger prints from someone grabbing her leg and holding her extremely hard and roughly. Photos have been shown to numerous medical and those professionally involved with DCFS and have all agreed what they looked like. Our granddaughter has also experienced a significant change in behavior going from a very happy outgoing 2 year old to one that suddenly stops and gets extremely sad and lays down on the ground and hides her face. This change developed over a few weeks after being moved into the 2's room. I personally had interaction that day with the woman that I believe was responsible. She was extremely negative about our granddaughter, made very libelous remarks about my son and his wife, to me directly, and expressed her dislike for our granddaughter stating her scream was too loud. When I went to pick up my granddaughter that day (because she stated she could not stop her from screaming) my granddaughter was laying on her cot, quietly, just starring at me. When I asked her to come to me she stayed looking frozen in fear. When I picked her up she immediately buried her face into my shoulder until we reached the front office, refusing to look at this woman. This woman approached me wearing a large fluffy robe and had been lying next to another child in the back of the room. When the Director of this facility was confronted the next morning by the parents, they were told the woman acted completely unprofessionally, that they had no concerns with their parenting, and that the woman was "having a bad day". Then fire her!!! No one that acts that way should be left with any vulnerable child. It was the day of the meeting with the Director that the bruises were noticed. Our granddaughter has never returned to this facility, the Director has stopped responding to the parents, and a complaint filed, with photos, with the necessary agencies. Both the woman and the Director should be removed from this facility.
