The prices are high, but you will find unique and high quality items here. I have always been curious about this store and finally made my way in after a Bowood Studio workshop. The selection is wonderful so many cards, ornaments, stationary, and glassware options. We were greeted warmly and browsed their selection. This is on the higher end in terms of cost but it's a lovely store to visit. read more

This little cute gem is on the shared parking lot for Bowood. I decided to browse around. It had stationery, candles, accents, lotions , jewelry. Staff was friendly upon entry, and it smells so good with all the fragrance as a mixture . Store is small and quaint. Pricey items but I did see some sale signs. read more

Great for unique finds and special times! Home decor items including candles and diffusers, rugs and pillows and place mats and even a few select pieces of furniture. Clothing section is limited to women's tops and dresses, a few pants-- but you may find the perfect new look! For special occasions they have cards, paper plates and cups and napkins and wrapping paper and festive decor.. And then check out the kids section for toys and costumes and books. This is a beautiful shop and is part of Bowood Farms. It is located right across the street. It's beautifully landscape and nicely decorated on the inside. They have all sorts of merchandise from clothing to jewelry to gardening items. They have decorative items for your house and lists of things that are fun to look at. I did not have an issue with customer service. The people working that day were friendly and let us look around without bothering us. The only complaint I have about this shop is that it is super expensive! There were many things I would have purchased but the price was just astronomical! I love to support businesses in the city but I am not sure that this is the right price point for a city shop. This store would be perfect if located in Plaza Frontenac as you would expect to see prices like this. A cotton dress was almost 400$ and a pair of cotton pants that looked like pajamas was over 100 bucks. The jewelry was priced appropriately because it is handmade and gorgeous. If you are looking for a spot to buy a special gift and you have deep pockets, check it out. It is still a fun place to look but just way too expensive. read more

I stopped at the shop in December 2020, because they are the only place in STL that sells Tatine candles. I was pleasantly surprised by their amazing selection of candles, and I spent over an hour checking out the rest of the store with my kid (5/7). The kids stayed busy exploring the toy area and waving at the cute dog. While I went there for a candle, I ended up finishing all of my holiday shopping for my nieces and nephews! My kids had so much fun picking out gifts from the unique selection of toys. They ended up each getting a super soft Jellyfish plush. The woman at the shop (I don't recall her name) was AMAZING! She wrapped every gift in beautiful boxes with ribbon and placed them in bags with tissue paper. She was very sweet to my boys, and the customer service was next-level! It was nice leaving the shop with the gifts wrapped and checked off my list. I would highly recommend this shop if you are looking for a unique gift or you want to expand your candle selection! It is beautifully curated with an awesome selection of artisan items. I would recommend taking your time to explore all the corners! There are pricey items, but more affordable options too (i.e. $50 candles and $20 candles, plushes ranging from $13+, toys from $15+). read more

I told my MIL about Bowood and how great they were and we met for a little shopping. She spotted this shop and we walked across the street to take a look. We walked in and it was dark. A very snarky woman said to another woman, "did you not lock the doors back? There are people in here." I found this very odd as the store is tiny and we clearly heard it. I asked if they were not open and she would come back later and she replied with, "you've already come in. You can stay." I felt really bad for the lady that had clearly left the door open. I think I may have walked out of that job immediately had I been spoken to like that. Ummm. Maybe walk across the street and learn how to be kind and polite to customers. Wow. The store is darling and has a lot of unique gift ideas but extremely extravagant. Even if I had found something for which I was willing to sell one of my children (jk), I would not have done it at this shop. read more

I visited this shop recently and picked up some really cute kids items and something for myself :) The staff was very nice and helped me look at some jewelry in the case. I called the store a couple days later to surprise my MIL with a pin she liked there, and they helped me hand deliver it to her (I'm from out of town) - thank you, Katherine! Nice sized clothing, accessories, jewelery and home goods store. Has a beautiful entry way filled with green plants. They also have a wall filled with hand made greeting cards and prints. Price range is mid to high, they were having a 30% off clothing sale when I visited, but prices were in the hundreds for the items I looked at. While very pleasing to the eye this cute little boutique lacks a customer service, an identity, and self awareness. After brunch at Cafe Osage we strolled over to Holliday to check out what it was. Inside we were greeted to two employees who made eye contact with us, but did not respond to either of our hellos. The store's inventory is beautifully curated, but the pricing must have been done by Lucille Bluthe. In the children's section was a yarn-based shooting star that consisted of a 7" star hanging from a 30" inch piece of pink string with a few charms in between. It was lovely and would have been perfect for my niece's room, but at $55 there was no way I could ethically justify purchasing it. She will have to settle for a less cute, more rustic DIY version. While I'm not against stores that are more for Instagram than for good deals, I am not for coming into a neighborhood and attempting to charge more than your average neighbor's weekly wage for a linen caftan. read more

I used to love this store and would go there for any unique gift I was in search of but after my last visit I will not be returning nor will I be sending friends their way. The associate that has worked there for years is so incredibly cold and rude. I've given her so many chances and keep chalking it up to a bad day but a dozen times in and she remains ice cold and at times a little aggressive in her tone if you ask a question or need assistance. Such a shame if good employees are that tough to find. That store deserves better! read more

Holliday managers - please read these reviews. Your staff are RUDE AND AWFUL. I love the store and it's products and look. I always find really cool, overpriced stuff. Every time I go, and it's fairly often, the MOST unfriendly people are working there. I have never been greeted. I have never been asked if I need help finding anything. But I like the store so kept coming back. Today however, same thing, I spent about $200.00. When I went to pay, the old witch didn't say a word to me. Nothing. So I rudely said "thank you!" To her and she awkwardly said thank you back. But that was it. It's just now how you do things. Don't think I'll come back again. It's not worth it to feel that uncomfortable / peasant like. And I see other people have similar complaints but they are obviously not taken seriously because the same people still work there with the same attitude. Unfortunately - really bad taste in my mouth for all of the little shops. I did make a complaint to someone at Cafe Osage who was surprised someone had a complaint. read more

Visited the shop pre-COVID, but have been thinking about the awful experience since and have to say something. After following on Instagram I had been dying to stop in the shop to pick up some greetings cards and pampas grass. Looked like such a cute shop. The day we visited it was pouring rain and the Instagram post said "come on in, its dry and cozy inside!" Honestly after interacting with the two sales associates it was MUCH colder inside. I don't think I've ever met two more rude or uninviting people in my life! It was 15 minutes to close, so having worked retail my entire life, when we came in we said hello and said we were just quickly running through to give them a heads up we wouldn't be hanging around for a long time. Both associates looked at us but did not say a word. Then as we were looking at something they shut off the music and stood at the counter watching us. We felt so uncomfortable we put down our items and left. When we said "Thank you!" as we walked out the door neither of them responded. Then, we were pulling out of the parking lot I noticed it was 4:59. The shop hadn't even closed yet!!! I have worked for major retail brands and the message has always been to be warm, helpful and never to intimidate someone to shop quickly or leave. It is beyond me how Holliday and Bowood/Cafe Osage can be owned by the same company. ENTIRELY different vibe and experience, something got lost in translation in training and by the other reviews I see I'm not the only one who thinks so. read more
