I unfortunately had to serve someone and the courts only gave me 48 hours to do so. Hollister were quick to respond via email and quell my worries. There was an extra fee for the rush (industry standard) but they handled it beautifully and had the entire process handled the same day I paid. I think four or five hours afterward. It's already a horribly stressful process so I'm very grateful to them for their speed, professionalism and knowledge of the court system here in Los Angeles. read more

I hired this company for a skip trace and service of process. Based on the address provided in the original skip trace, I paid for service attempts that ultimately proved unsuccessful. The company later ran a second skip trace at no charge, which identified a different address and contained significantly different address history information, making it difficult to feel confident in the reliability of the results. My biggest frustration is that I paid for service at the address identified through their original skip trace, but when the address later changed, there was no flexibility offered regarding the additional service fees required to attempt the new address. As a result, I paid for a service attempt that was unsuccessful and now still need to pay for another service attempt at a different address. Communication was professional and they were responsive throughout the process, but I ultimately spent money attempting service at an address that now appears questionable and was left disappointed with the overall outcome. read more

DO NOT use this business. After paying the fee they went silent. Every time I inquired they told me that no one was home at the defendant's. When I asked for my money back they suddenly told me they were able to successfully serve them. Only problem: the defendant is Indian, but the description of the person who they served was caucasian. Ultimately the service did not hold up in court, which has cost me well over $1000. Shady business that cannot be trusted. read more

Updated review...0 stars however yelp requires at one. This company is not a good one to use, I stick by my review. I did not tell them to do a drop service as I don't even know what that is exactly, that is their language not my request. 1000's of successful serves done but this was not one of them. Also again, the hired process server purgered (lied under oath) themselves that they did a successful service and really left it on the porch (drop service). 7yrs. later and I feel the same way about them. read more

Terrible company. If you call Mr. Snyder or Desiree, your call goes to voicemail everytime. I sent a Summons and Complaint to them on May 14 with a single address for service on a business. Today, 3 weeks later, all they have told me is that there was no one available on one occasion when they attempted to serve. On May 29, Desiree emailed to me that she would contact her server and get back to me in the afternoon. Today is June 4, she has never gotten back to me. read more

Recently I had the pleasure of doing business with Hollister Process Service. On Tuesday morning, the 25th, I spoke with Desiree, and She confirmed that a normal service of process runs $55. I had requested that it be delivered no later than the 29th, which was 4 days later, and she confirmed that it would not be a problem, since routine service is usually 3-5 days. A few days later I noticed I had been charged an unauthorized amount of $95 to my credit card, so I called to inquire. The man who answered informed me that they had performed a "rush service" on Tuesday, because they were taking Thursday and Friday off for thanksgiving. When I asked if he had prior permission to charge an unauthorized amount, he admitted that he did not. He then said "I asked Desiree if she told you about the extra charge, and she said she didn't remember, so I went ahead and charged you anyway". It's very concerning when a person admits to taking money without permission, and doesn't understand that it is theft. Instead of making a quick phone call to clear up any confusion, he took it upon himself to make the decision to unlawfully charge my card. He did refund $20 of the $40, but refused to refund the complete unauthorized amount because he said he had to cover his servers. If you do business with this company, I suggest you get everything in writing PRIOR to giving any payment information. Make sure you know what they are going to do, and on what dates they are going to do it, to avoid any confusion. They charged me more than they said they were going to, and didn't tell me about the charge, or ask if it was ok. Im just glad I caught it as quick as I did. They did serve the correct recipient. Update: The owner decided to respond after almost half a year to this review and say I was slandering his company, which is hard to believe. He is correct that my papers did get delivered (Not in the time time I was told). The only reason I got a response from the company and anything got done after calls and emails that went unanswered was because I found the owner on Facebook and send him a private Facebook message, which he responded and got his coworker to respond right away. It should have never came to that, so if you don't want to stress about an already stressful process I still wouldn't recommend them. I'm not sure if this company is a SCAM or if they just don't have the right people working for them. I hired them to deliver Civil Case docs. I dealt with Desiree which started off great. She attempted to deliver them at where I thought the individual worked, however Desiree found out it was actually a different building and she advised me she would deliver them on Monday. Well It's now Friday and I haven't heard anything. I've tried calling the office multiply times and it goes to someones cell phone that has no clue what I'm talking about. I've tried calling the Monterey Office to see what is going on with the Hollister office only to hear this phone is no longer in service. I've tried emailing Desiree on multiple occasion only to get no response back. I've been charged for the service, but now I can't verify that the service has actually been done. I clearly should've read the reviews before using this company. Horrible service and I wouldn't recommend using them for anything. I ordered a simple service to a business and gave them at least 10 days to serve. The job didn't get done and claimed the business was locked and noone there every time they went. Again this is a business were talking about. Not only did they not do their job, but they don't respond to emails or phone calls either. Piss poor...now I have to get a new court date and spend more money on another process server. read more

Please, please, please DO NOT use this company. I contacted Hollister Process Service to serve court paperwork on 12/3/18. My Fiancée had custody paperwork to be served by December 14th for a December 26th court date. When I spoke to this company on the phone I asked that the paperwork not be served at the home because the children would be there and their mom would rather be served at work. 7 days later I had not received notification if the paperwork had been served and we had not received a response from the mom so I contacted Desiree. She contacted the server and told me it had been served and they would get me a copy. The next day I received a proof of service stating it had been delivered on 12/5/18 at 5:18pm at the mom's home address. We thought everything was good until 12/21/18, 5 days before court when the children's mom informed us at drop off that the paperwork had been stuffed in her mail box the night before and that the return address was her own. She was NEVER served! She had contacted the court and they told her to come in on Monday to try and get the court date changed. This was the day before Christmas. When I contacted Desiree she seemed genuinely concerned and said this had never happened before and she would look into it. They had contracted out the paperwork to a 3rd party to be served. I was NEVER notified that this company was not the one that would be serving the paperwork. She said she contacted the server and he said he personally handed her the paperwork. Which was a lie! The mom and the stepdad were at a Christmas party and had proof that they were there. They had the report from their Ring door bell showing no one came up to the door. But this man, that this company hired insisted he served her..........Please show me proof if this is so cuz all of the proof show he is lying. On 12/24/18 we were notified that court was postponed for a month later. We had already requested time off from work & found daycare for the children. So then we were out that money and time. Desiree and I went back & forth on Christmas eve and she said the owner would be contacting me. On 12/27/18 I inquired AGAIN as to what was going on and was told the owner would be calling me on this day....... I NEVER received a call from the owner but did receive an email. His response Dear Janet, It has come to my attention that service of process to the Defendant XXXX was not according to California civil code. We sub contract work in this area to another company which is owned by Kayed Asfour. If you need his contact information we will be glad to provide it to you. We will no longer be working with this person and apologize for any inconvenience. Please advise where you want us to mail you a refund check. Sincerely, Stephen Snyder Owner This was my response: Mr. Snyder, We did not hire Kayed Asfour to serve the paperwork. We hired your company. I will not be contacting Mr. Asfour, this is something you need to do since you sub contract the work out. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what your company did and or did not do for the services you said you would provide. I do not feel you only returning what I paid you for a service that was not performed according to California civil code is adequate. We took time off from work for the original court date, we had to hire a babysitter for the scheduled court date, I have spent time communicating with your company during our holiday and while at work, we have had to deal with a very pissed off ex-wife calling us and you liars because of the person your company hired, not the company I hired. Again, I do not feel you returning only what I paid for the service is enough we have been put out because of a service you said you would provide and failed to do so. I feel you need to compensate us for more than just that. My experience was horrible! As you know there is little time to serve a defendant. Same day I contacted them I emailed them the documents and a copy of a check for payment. Two weeks later I followed up as I had not heard anything back. I was informed the person I was serving was no longer at the address I submitted. This was on a Friday afternoon. I asked why didn't they contact me and when did they find out. They said the previous Sunday was when they were notified. They should have contacted me right away. I lost 6 days to try to locate a new address and have the defendant served. Fortunately, I found a great service the next Monday who served same day for basically the same price. I do not recommend you use this company for any legal services! read more

I was hit head on by a driver who wasn't insured. My car got totaled, I lost my deposit and had to pay for a rental car for months. I decided to take her to small claims court, and hired these people. I paid $115 for two people to be served (with a "rush"). I ended up having to reset my court date because they said they couldn't find these people after several attempts. This is only after I called them several times to figure out what was going on with my case. This company is a mess. I was NEVER updated as to what was going on with my case, and not being able to serve someone after over two months is not a "rush." When I finally get a hold of someone to ask about my case, I'm told that it was "closed as a non-service." HOW ABOUT CALLING YOUR CLIENT TO TELL THEM THAT?? When they send the papers over, it says that they came face to face with one of the parties in my case, but they "weren't sure it was her." The paper also shows that there was a 2 WEEK GAP in time where no one bothered to go over there. In a case where time is of the essence, these people failed. Complete lack of professionalism. Asked a family friend to serve the papers, and it was done in a day. Don't waste your money. They will take it, not do their job, not keep you informed and not care/bother to let you know when they have failed. Go elsewhere. read more
