Decided to try getting a pedicure here while killing time. This place is much fancier than all the other nail salons I've been to. They offered me a glass of bubbly, sparkling flavored water, coffee or tea. Tons of well organized polish colors. Very clean establishment. I went with the Pamper with Hudson pedicure ($60) which came with a longer massage, special foot scrub, lemon & orange slices in the foot bath. The pedicure was okay. Didn't really do much cleaning or reshaping the toe nails. Just more the fancy scrub and rubs. My nail technician was really nice. Just a little too pricey for a regular pedicure. read more

Had such a great experience here getting my nails done with leann. The salon was clean and they offered me a drink and staff were attentive. Not only do my nails look exactly how I asked but they're healthier and stronger too. I got short almond nails w/ hard gel and two coats of bubble bath. I regularly book my appointments online, which is very convenient. The shop is clean, regularly disinfected by a designated staff member. There were fresh flowers as well. For this appointment, Sunny worked on my pedicure. She introduced herself and confirmed which service I wanted. There was no assertive, continuous upselling, which I loathe. The shop is not overly busy but they have at least 15 stations for nail care. I felt relaxed and taken care during my Pamper option appointment ($60), which included a 10 minute massage, scrub, and masque. You know, its hard to have good service and watch someone else get poor service. Its also hard to be indifference towards pricing. While I watched one person communicate what they wanted but got misunderstood and then paid for probably the worse Pedicure Ive ever seen. They knowingly knew it was wrong and still charged full price with not even a color on her toes. However in my case I was told Gel was $45, but that wasnt exact and I picked a Pedi for $60 their bill for my pedi some how came to $84... the gel was suppose to be $10 not $24 more. I had the worst pedicure of my life here. And such a shame, because it's in a beautiful location that I frequent a few times a week for different reasons. I wanted to love this place so much, but after my 3rd visit, and this one being the worst, it's safe to say I will never return and will make sure none of my friends and family do either. $50 pedicure: treated like shit. Attitude because I didn't want the callous remover, and just really bad looks and service through out for a reason that is unbeknownst to me. My nail technician looked pissed off from the start and kept getting angrier when I didn't want to enhance my expensive pedicure. Terrible treatment for a higher class clientele. What a shame. I've been visiting Holly & Hudson in Long Beach for a few years now. It's conveniently located in the 2nd & PCH shopping center which is a lovely area. The studio is clean and modern. I find they provide exceptional quality and fantastic service. My go to is Jessie who is one of the best nail technicians around. She is so thorough and professional. Every time I visit her, I leave with a beautiful set of nails. She is the absolute best! Phoebe is also incredible! She takes care of my pedicure and is also a great technician. Honestly, the entire team is professional and talented. I highly suggest this nail studio because of the professional team that work here. Over the years I've never once had a bad experience. I went to this salon and received gel x extensions and a gel pedicure. My pedicure was fine, but my gel x manicure was not worth the price. Four days after receiving the service, my nails are already lifting. During the service my cuticles were pushed back so much that it caused me pain and discomfort. I've been coming to this location every 2-4 weeks for over a year now. The services are consistent and the employees are nice. This is the only place I have received a gel manicure where the gel doesn't break or chip off. I especially appreciate this because I am not gentle with my nails...dishes, home renovation projects, etc. Overall the space is open, light and quiet...low neutral music, minimal chatter and neutral space. Been here several times now and each time something has always left a bad taste in my mouth regarding the services received for the cost. Most recently I came in today and things seemed to be going well with my gel x manicure and regular pedicure (pricey but I understand how time consuming each service is). It started by the color on my toes not matching my manicure as I requested. The color was completely off and this is the second time in a row this has happened. Then the nail tech put my sandals on without checking my toes were dry, causing the pinky toes to smear on both sides. So now my new pedicure is missing the pinky toe polish ( for $60 + &10 tip is absurd). The Gel X manicure burned while getting it which I thought was strange but ended up hurting so much I said something. The end product is pretty until you look closely to see the giant globs of dried glue underneath each nail AND that the nails are not the same length on both hands. Overall, I'm really disappointed in the quality and am unsure if I will keep giving these second / third chances to this salon. read more

My manicurist was super fast, especially after I informed her of a medical condition I suffer from, hyperhidrosis. She seemed grossed out. I can't help that my hands sweat like that. I'm almost certain she was talking about it in her native language to the woman doing my pedicure. The pedicurist noticed my sadness as I sat there in tears. To top it off, I paid $200 to feel awful. Like many others, I had high hopes for this place but was ultimately disappointed by the quality of the nail service. The pros of this place are: the inside is nice, the chairs are comfortable, the drinks are great, everyone is very nice. Unfortunately the price to quality ratio is not there for work done on the nails. My (basic) gel manicure was done poorly, with a lot of bleeding around the edges/the gel running into the edges of my nail bed that wasn't fixed. It started lifting after 3 days. Like others have said, this really isn't acceptable for a gel manicure. I got a midrange gel pedicure and while the massage was very nice, I the quality of the polish application was off. Instead of fixing a ridge left by the UV light, they simply painted over it and left it. Ultimately I paid $150+ (including tip) for all of this, and the pictures show that it wasn't really worth it. read more

Sadly, I do have to agree with everyone else here and say the quality of service has gone down. The nail polish doesn't even last a week and it's gel too. The prices are way too expensive but it's really because of the location and expensive decor. Other than that, there's nothing above and beyond that they provide. Out of all the H&Hs this one is my favorite. I have been here about 26 times over the last two years. Each person is always very attentive and patient. They take their time and the massages are fantastic. I've been to Ivy, Moon, Rebecca and several others. They always offer drinks, have a huge selection of regular and gel polish and ample seating that is spaced properly. I've posted some photos of the work. First, the pros: 1) I had a nice nail technician (Rose). 2) They add fresh citrus in the foot soak for all pedicures which is a nice and unique touch. Cons: 1) The salon was very dirty upon entrance. At the time of my arrival for my 2:30pm appointment it was apparent that the floors had not been swept all day. Their callus removing service leaves mounds of dead skin on the floor around Service chairs. 2) Front desk staff was not friendly. No welcome greeting, no smile, and no asking how the service was at the end. 3) They have a bar with options for wine, champagne, coffee, and tea. HOWEVER, this was not offered to me at any time during my 60 minute appointment. For a $50 regular pedicure, you would think that includes a glass of bubbly. 4) Chairs and equipment are outdated. Which is curious due to the fact that they opened less than 3 years ago. Do not overspend for mediocre services in a dirty salon. read more

This is not about the nail art service but the overall bullying within the employees. Misa, Nicky and Linda were openly rude and making fun of Shamema in front of me and even laughed at her when she asked me questions and spoke over her. Linda went out of her (wasn't helping me at all) and went over to Nicky and started shifting the chair to have my feet far away from Shemama while she was doing my toes. She asked them to stop and the continued and laughed. It was unbelievable to do this in front of client and overall so rude to do this to a coworker. Shemama does not deserve to be made fun of in Vietnamese too (I speak some Vietnamese too). Finally I got so frustrated from watching and hearing them do this. When they called her a fat fish, I stopped Misa in English and I said who are you calling a fat fish? She got embarrassed because she didn't know I knew what she was saying and she panicked and said she was making fish for dinner. Overall, shemema was great and showed kindness to them even when they cut her off from speaking to me or was laughed out in front of her face. read more

This salon is slightly more expensive than your average hole-in-the-wall place, but WORTH IT if you get any sort of nail tips! Nail shape, thickness, everything is ON POINT. Some nail salons will get your shape all funky and leave you with thick chunky nails that look tacky...Whenever I get my nails done here they look elegant, delicate and classy. The salon looks like it should offer a luxury experience. It does not. There are plenty of hole-in-the wall places in the area that offer much better service for a fraction of the price. I won't be back. The nail salon experience is so dependent on the tech that I was inclined to say nothing, but after reading a couple of other reviews I decided to chime in. It was overpriced and mediocre. My polish manicure was sloppy, layers of polish visible and uneven edges (I do it better at home left-handed) and it was chipping within 24 hours. The tech was rough pushing back my cuticles and cut me with her cuticle nippers more than once (she had to bring out cotton and rubbing alcohol to stem the bleeding the second time). The hand massage she gave me was laughable -- I almost asked her to stop roughly petting my hands without moisturizer. My gel pedicure looks fine but for the price I paid, you think they might have done a better job matching the color to my nail polish like I asked. Not even close. Also, they sanded off the existing gel... which was the fast way, for sure, but not at all kind to my nails. Skip this place. read more

Went in a few days ago to get a pedicure. The woman who did my pedicure was so rough she scrapped the skin off the top of my toes causing abrasion and causing the entire pedicure to be so painful. I booked a $60 pedicure... wouldn't have expected this type of service.
