The couches were comfy for post-fishing lounging, the beds were comfy, the kitchen well supplied, everything clean and fresh. Hackberry Fishing Camp & Marina is located near Lake Calcasieu which is close to the well known Lake Charles. Lake Calcasieu is widely known for its incredible fishing. There are many different species that you'll catch in the lake, but the common catch for our customers are Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, and the rare Tripple Tail. Speckled Trout range from about 4-7 pounds in this lake. Many fishing trips end with filling a customers freezer, because they're so easy to catch. The key to catching these trophy fish is fishing at just the right time. These fish feed like crazy during the winter and early spring. They are preparing for their long spawning months in the late spring through summer. Cast around the shallows and bank line and you're sure to catch a hungry Trout. With a limit of 25 fish daily and 12 inch minimum you will be surprised at how quickly you will be able to catch your limit. The Redfish in the lake are an aggressive, hard fighting thrill. It is not unusual for a big school of Reds to sneak up on you in the middle of Trout fishing. As the schools pass through you will find yourself anticipating the hook that will give you the fight that every fisherman dreams of. Cast right on the grass line of the bank, where the crab and shrimp hang out, and within seconds there could be a Red on your line...

There are numerous hazards at cabin #4 and #7. The prices charged are very high. The cabins are not maintained. The owner needs to CLOSE the cabins and just keep the RV park and beach going. The balconies are gorgeous--the higher floor this time has a better view above the palm trees. Both times we've been here have been in January, so we haven't been able to use the outdoor pools or the lazy river. The indoor pool is large! There's a great game room, a movie theater, and a gym on the property. Everything is access-controlled, so you feel safe. Getting to the beach is about a 5-minute walk. This is a beautiful place! We booked through Ryson Vacation Rentals both times. Great communication, easy check-in and check-out process.

She was terrific. We loved working with her. She was fantastic. Will book with her again AND will recommend her to friends and family! Very nice and professional! A very good company!
