This is our second stay at Diamond Beach. We've stayed in 2 different units, and both have been extremely nice. Comfy furniture, large bathrooms, and roomy spaces. The balconies are gorgeous--the higher floor this time has a better view above the palm trees. Both times we've been here have been in January, so we haven't been able to use the outdoor pools or the lazy river. The indoor pool is large! There's a great game room, a movie theater, and a gym on the property. Everything is access-controlled, so you feel safe. Getting to the beach is about a 5-minute walk. This is a beautiful place! We stayed at the Diamond Beach Resort in Galveston for a long weekend. It is a fantastic resort with many amenities. Greg, the Director of Operations is the ultimate professional. He sincerely cares about his residents and renters and is willing to go above and beyond to accommodate everyone's needs. Specifically, we stayed in Diamond Beach unit 218. Great condo. Clean. Well equipped. Lovely. Pretty. Good location. Beautiful. It was a terrific unit at the end with an awesome balcony and great views. We booked through Sand n Sea. Great company. We booked with Jolene. She was terrific. We loved working with her. She was fantastic. Will book with her again AND will recommend her to friends and family! Very nice and professional! A very good company! Holy wow this place is top notch! We've skipped around different Airbnbs when we're on the island, but not any more; this is it from now on! We were here in October, and we were kind of bummed the pool bar was closed for the season, but no big loss...just took our Yeti's to the pool. The grounds are well maintained and so was the condo. We couldn't have asked for more! There is SO much to see just at Diamond Beach Resort! LOVE the DIAMOND...and the lazy river pool. My family has rented a condo every year here...since 2013. They have a game room but, I never go to it. The Gulf of Mexico is outside your balcony and across the street by foot. The resort is about 8 miles from the downtown Strand area. It's quiet at Diamond Beach...no crazy parties and/loud music---thank the Lord! They pride themselves on keeping it well maintained and clean. It's expensive...I could never afford it...to rent or own but, I'm glad my family is!! (High dollar place) They come from Houston, Katy, Bellville, Beaumont and out of state from Canada, Louisiana, and Georgia. I'm lucky enough to live across the street at Club of the Isle so, it's always convenient for me to go crash over there when they come. Sooo, if you got the means to stay at Diamond Beach...do it. Every year I keep note of the room...so far I've been in 513, 405 and 601. Last year it was condo 708. Tonight was room 808 (weird , huh?!) We had a crawfish boil (Galveston Seafood on Harborside) with my first cousins...we got a growler from one of the local beer breweries, Island brewery on Stewart rd. And sat on the balcony under the stars! Hella sweet! read more

We arrived at Diamond Beach at 4:00 for our check-in. We were informed that our rental was not available because it was no longer managed by VACASA. The front desk said that Stephanie from Vacasa was reaching out to us. After waiting over two hours and no one from Vacasa getting in touch with us we got in touch with Charmaine by phone. We finally received a text/email from Vacasa at 6:00 p.m. offering us a condo in another location Galveston that did not even have a pool. It in no way compared to Diamond Beach. We asked for a refund. The kind people at the Diamond Beach desk helped us find another property manager that had an available property. Diamond Beach is five star but do not rent from Vacasa! read more

This was our second time staying at Diamond Beach Resort (DBR). Our last visit was two years ago when the full amenities were available. Now with COVID know these MORE restrictions: no innertubes are provided (bring your own), pool bar is closed, hot tub by lazy river is not working, twisting water slide is closed, theatre is CLOSED, 3rd floor lounge is closed. The garage pad we were assigned for our condo didn't work - we had the front desk reprogram it and it still didn't work!! We had to park in the outside lot in triple degree temps and had lots of bird crap on our car the next morning. The pinball machine in the game room was out of order. Some of the umbrellas by the pool were missing their pin which keeps the umbrella open. The condo we rented was beautiful but the operations and maintenance of the DBR are subpar. At least the grounds are clean however, there was a crabby, rude old woman at the front desk with a bad attitude which detracted from a smooth check-in process when we arrived. Other employees were fine. Also during COVID, elevator is restricted to one family using it a time so anticipate longer wait times for elevators, especially on the higher floors. read more

We had an amazing time here, the resort is great, pools and lazy river are amazing and all of the things the resort offers are outstanding. The ONLY drawback is the walk to the beach, for as high end as this resort seems, it would be improved by having some sort of boardwalk or some way to get to the beach other than the cattle trail. Was very difficult for our small kids to make the trek and even more difficult for dad here to haul all of the stuff to and from the room. read more

Recently stayed here with my husband and two kids for vacation. This place was FANTASTIC! The pools were awesome. There are ton of great amenities and tons of things to do even when if it's raining. Make sure if you make an appointment at the spa for a great massage! We had a great time! We went early in the season so the swim up bar and water slide weren't open. But we'll definitely be back next time later in the season! We had a great time and can't wait to come back again! read more

This is a review of the resort only as our condo contact and accommodations were awesome. We were here for spring break and the weather wasn't optimal. Rain and cooler temps. The great thing about this resort is it has an indoor heated pool. BUT it's closed due to the damage from the bad weather last month. ETA unknown. What choice do we have? Many things aren't open as this is definitely off Season. Apparently why everyone goes to Florida!! The icing on the cake is the staff and their lack of friendliness. My son brought us a snack and it was a plastic bowl for salsa and chips and the jar of salsa. Not realizing it was a no no by the pool. I poured some in a bowl and had the jar out of the way (until we left). But when i walked away and came back I was asked if I was the person sitting by the pool with the jar of picante sauce. I said yes, he said it needs to go, I said yes and he said "like right now". He was crystal clear and short of sprinting I was in agreement. I wasn't upset, I can respect the rules and my bad, but give me a minute to get back to my chair and where I immediately disposed of it. How about you fix the pool as quickly?! This is definitely not a spring break option for the future and I'm disappointed I was treated that way. Thanks!! read more

Absolutely amazing. This place is beautiful and well kept. We came to celebrate my birthday weekend with family flying in from Chicago and Washington and we were not disappointed. You cannot beat the view from the balcony. The lazy river was a blast! We spent most of the time for our vacation at the condo because there was so much to do and it was so much fun. Our unit had a large balcony with 3 bedrooms and was very nicely decorated with a beach theme. It was cool to have the amenities of home (dishwasher, laundry, small kitchen appliances) when on a vacation. We rented out the theater room for 2 hours to watch a game. The surround sound was excellent and the seating was comfy. We also took advantage of the spacious workout room and game room. It was so nice that we didn't have to cough up change to play games or use tubes in the lazy river. The water slide was not on during our stay, but we didn't miss it. The other oddity was that the bar wasn't always open. There's a sign in the elevator advertising happy hour from 4-7 every day and we only saw it open once during our 3 night stay. Overall, we had a great time here and our expectations were blown away. We loved it. Check in was easy and the staff was mostly helpful. read more

Great place to vacation. The condos are individually owned, therefore you must go through a 3rd party to rent those that are available for renting. The amenities include; indoor game room, outdoor game area, huge outdoor pool (largest I have ever seen), large indoor pool, lazy river w/ swim up bar, hot tubs, water slide for the kids, sand volleyball, beach access, movie theater, workout facility with fabulous beach view, kids playroom, and indoor bar. The condo and location are nice, but both the Diamond Beach management and Vacasa (management company) are very unhelpful. We had an infestation of love bugs on our balcony and some got in the condo. Both Diamond Beach management and Vacasa said there was nothing that could be done. They should have sent someone out to spray for bugs. I had to use a can of raid to get rid of them, but then there were disgusting insect carcasses everywhere and I had nothing to clean them up. In addition, someone tried to break into our room at 3:00 a.m. Fortunately the police were called and all was fine, but I felt like the management acted like it was no big deal. This place could be great with management that is responsive to issues that arise for guests. read more

It's been a great experience staying here for the weekend. It has a beautiful view and access to the beach. The amenities it offers are of great quality (game room, theatre, gym) and the facilities are very clean and well kept. The only complaints I would have is that there entrance is not well lit, so it can be a hard place to turn into if you're driving in at night. Also, some of their other amenities such as their bar and spa are closed for unknown reasons. I also don't like the fact that the gym and indoor pool stay home all night, but the outdoor pool and theater and game room close around 11pm. Overall I would recommend this as a top notch place to stay if you're ever in the Galveston area. read more

Vacasa unit: Cool Breezes at Diamond Beach Resort. Vacasa is the BEST! Very lovely view! Diamond Beach Condo building is very nice with concierge. All of the staff is friendly and very helpful. Very comfortable and roomy with 3 bedrooms.. Loved the large jetted tub in master bath. Also we love VACASA rentals because they take care of any issues that we have quickly. Hair dryer was not working and they quickly came with a new one. read more

Stayed in this condo for a week (Tuesday-Monday) with 5 others. ROOM (310): the condo itself has an amazing view. The smaller bathroom shower and sink had very poor water pressure so we basically all used the king size bedroom's bathroom which has a dual shower head. The washer/dryer is in the smaller bathroom. Wish there was a nightstand in the queen size bedroom. Kitchen was great. All necessity's. Tv in living room worked fine. We tried setting up our own fire stick but it didn't work. RESORT: Because it was off season the bar on the 3rd floor was not open like the receptionist had promised. Only on the weekend. And same for the swim up bar (which I believe was not open at all). Also due to the off season it was very quiet through out the building except for the weekend. We didn't mind that since we basically had the pool to ourselves every single day. Pool is HUGE. And lazy river is very nice and relaxing. Slide wasn't open at all probably due to it being off season. Gym was great. few basic machines but the view is insane. Honestly, they say you need to wear wristbands daily so they know you are a guest, but I saw others not wearing them (they probably actually lived there) and I didn't wear mine. There were no problems. LOCATION: about 10 min drive to main strip of bars and restaurants so the building is secluded but nice enough so it's not noisy around. Whole family raved about this condo and how we want to go back. Galveston is a great beach town. Would love to see what it looks like during its busy season next year! read more

BEWARE...YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE ALCOHOL FROM THE BAR ONLY WHEN BY THE POOL BETWEEN 11A-8PM. Not only were we not notified that when you are around the pool during the hours of 11a-8pm that you have to purchase alcohol or beer from the bar and it is prohibited to have your own, and yes just a beer will cost you $3.50, we were constantly harassed by the hour, of someone wanting to check our stuff we had by the pool. The room was good but there were parts missing from the microwave and a few of the blinds were stuck down and inoperable. Those were minor compared to the constant harassment by the pool to me and my family. We will never go back. read more

A great place for a family vacation! We're here Easter weekend and not a lot of people are here. There's perks with that though. I worked out in the huge workout room all by myself! It was great lol. However there are cons considering the bar, water slide and spa aren't open this week. Not that big of a deal considering we've got a resort almost to ourselves. It's only our second day here but the island is a cool place. We're right on the ocean too which is pretty easy to get to. Everyone at this resort is very kind. read more

I am just so impressed!!!!!! From the moment we got there to the time we left, I was just thrilled about everything! The cleanliness, the amenities, the friendly staff etc.... The grounds are so well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are so clean and have great views. The pool is heavenly! The drinks at the bar are amazing!!!! Especially the Bloody Mary:) The kids had SO much fun! There is a movie theatre, a kids club room, a game and arcade room.... We will come back every year! The walk to the beach is a breeze... The slide is outstanding! Close to everything.... Not crowded!!!! At the end of the sea wall so it felt more secluded, which we loved!!!! The whole experience was just perfect!!!!!! This is a beautiful property. Our rental was very nice. The list of rules for the property seemed extreme, but honestly nothing terrible. Unfortunately, the property apparently doesn't have nearly enough parking for their compliment of guests. One of the days we were there, the valets had parked cars all along the driveway, blocking other guests in. The valets seemed to feel that was totally acceptable. Some of the resort management came out to assess the situation, and they also send to find out not only acceptable, but they had no concern about the fact that guests were blocked in and it was physically impossible to get the cars out. They were clearly uninterested in whether anyone was able to make it to their evening plans. Aside from this instance, all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The power went out during the night and left the building with no water for part of our stay, but they got it turned back on quickly. read more

So 8:00 at night after a 14 hour drive, my husband was told by the front desk that my service dog was not allowed. Im tired and cranky and glad my husband is dealing with this because it's horrible to be so far from home and have reservations with my service dog noted and now be looking for a place at 9:00 at night. They basically kicked us out. Thankfully we rented through Vacasa and they found us somewhere to go! I'm just tired. We all are and to show up to this is unacceptable and asking us to leave common areas. It sounds like they have some issues with laws here. Definitely don't have human compassion and definitely doesn't deserve to be open to the public but go onto a private rental site where laws can be disobeyed and people can be treated unfairly. Vacasa did a great job of finding us a property quickly and we were checked in by 10PM far away from this horribly run condo building. read more

Great hotel. Lazy river, water slide and awesome pool. Gulf view but no beach you can walk to. Beach out to the west so yes beach. Great restaurant cross the street. Giant rooms and many things to do. I suggest you stay here. read more
