Very small but quaint art display room that show cases the local artists. All the artwork was beautiful but there were a few that caught my eye. Loved the animal window one with the cat and horse and rooster peeping through the window. The use of color was neat as well as the idea. The other one I really was drawn into was the butterfly three piece frames with gold background. Even though this was simple its simplicity caught my eye. Also, I love butterflies. Overall if you happen to go through fscj or happen to catch a show near the theatre I suggest walking through the art room. Definitely cool to see

And the aisle of brushes- I may have picked up a pack! I want to hit the loose brushes hard. And I already have a ton of brushes! I went in with the idea of restraint. I have a lot of supplies already at home, but everything is SO tempting!!! Plus I got a grand opening discount~ hey heeeyyyyy!!! The ladies at the register even helped me look up more poorly described brush I have at home! I would love a replacement- but it's quite an unusual brush. They found it on the website! The place I chose happened to be closed when I tried to go, but that's when I found Ken at Avondale Artworks. He made time to meet with me, look at the pieces, and educate me a bit on what to expect. They used to be in my backyard! Practically. I needed clay for class and the professor sent us to see Paul- 900 mix clay with a student discount! Yay!!! Then for the fun shopping- and I behaved, even though I wanted a ton of things. One glaze, because I already have of 30 pints of glaze at home. One tool- again, because I already have an assortment. We had an "old" picture that fell off the wall and needed to be re-framed. Having not used anyone…read moreat beach for this before I decided to turn to Yelp to locate some nearby options. This is not a heavily reviewed category on Yelp so I briefly read the reviews and picked Chao. Easy to find on 3rd St at the beach. It's in the same plaza as Metro Diner but at the other end. We popped in on a Saturday and were promptly greeted and attended to. We were able to look around a bit but also received some suggestions on what the staff thought would look nice which is always appreciated. We had it narrowed down to a few options and then talked amongst ourselves to make the final selection. The nice young lady entered the order into the computer and the manager or owner stepped in and told her to apply a discount which was super cool. They told us our order would be ready in a couple of weeks and sure enough they called on time to inform us it was ready. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, super selection of frames to choose from and the quality of the work was terrific!
