We decided to make a special trip to stop in after dinner that night ... especially as we were running low on our beer supply. While DH was checking out their craft beers notably from Other Half Brewing ... yes, it's a decent selection but priced a bit higher than others at $22.99 (4 pack) ... I decided to find the "raffle box at the front registers" to submit my entry for a shot at the cooler bag. Hmm ... it didn't seem to be there. Looked around the store some more ... still no luck. Found a nice employee to help and she couldn't find it either even after looking in the back too. She said it's usually up front right next to the checkout registers (as advertised in the email) ... but it's not there and all managers have gone for the (Saturday) night. Ended up having DH put his beer back and gave our rolling basket to another young man (who thanked us as he was struggling with holding his 4 six-packs) and off we went to our usual place Clayton Liquors for their crowler/growler fills in addition to the best service and best beer selection around. Wow ... they really got me to come into the store for a "non-existent" raffle?!? We used to come to Buy Rite often (even before they changed their name a few times - as it's the closest place to our house) ... but stopped a while back as one of their old cashiers is pretty rude. We do try to support local businesses and this place does have everything you need ... but now it has 2 strikes in our book. We'll have to see if we go back ... maybe for another good raffle ... huh!

When they have a moment, they take the time to chat a little with me and I like that. The pub itself is cozy. (Kurt was a visionary and his store filled a desperate need, in this area, and still does.) I think next was the house that Kurt built for his family on the adjacent lot. There might have been one more addition to the store, either before or after the house, but the store has come a long way from the tiny storefront of its beginnings. That was a long time ago and Kurt has long since sold his business and retired, but the name remains. The store is clean and inviting, the owners friendly, and there's a great variety to choose from. They accept all credit/debit cards and cash, of course, and their hours are by far the most accommodating of any business in the area (9am to 10pm daily, including weekends). They've resurfaced their parking lot and re-striped it, even adding more much-needed parking spaces, which helps make it less of a free-for-all. The place can get pretty busy! We're not really big drinkers, but when we do want something, there's only one destination for us: Kurt's in Elsinboro.
