Incredible bar / restaurant! A couple of the specials on Friday were Stuffed Long Hots and a Bourbon Bacon Cheesesteak! I had the cheesesteak for lunch, and took the Long Hots to go for an appetizer Saturday! AND, the bartender owns the ice cream store a1/4 mile in the opposite direction of where I was going, BUT, I had to go and try it out! ANOTHER great spot!!! Went for Monday Wing Night. .75 wings. As far as wings...5 stars. They were all good. Tried four flavors. Big basket of fries were good. Got an Amaretto Sour and tasted zero amaretto. I didnt complain. Got fried oreos to go and when I opened them they were a burnt greasy mess. Looked and tasted like the oil they were cooked in was old. Tossed them in the trash. I know a lot of people like the food here. The service was really good. The ambiance is just your normal local dudes sitting around the bar vibe. No windows. It was kind of depressing. read more

Sadly had to update a previous 4-star review with a 2 - which I'm being fair with given I'm hoping it was just an off day, because this visit was a one-star experience. I came starving mid day hoping to have a good bartender and good food similar to my first time. Wrong. Now given the bar was busy, but it also was on my first visit too. Difference was, this time there were 2 bartenders, not one awesome one, and neither gave a crap I was there this time around. A solid ten minutes went by before I was even looked at or acknowledged. Guess regulars were getting priority but bad all around either way. Eventually had an older bartender who couldn't care less get me a beer. I'm one sip into this beer as mid stride over to me she goes - "oh that's the wrong beer," before snatching it off the counter before I could even reply and going to grab another. I legit laughed out loud at this, and so did several people who saw it happen around me. Disclaimer - I would have drank said beer even if it was more money, because lord knows when/if ever the bartender would come back. Bartender was rude to another couple next to me as well to the point I overheard them discussing leaving. I closed my tab after one beer, zero food, and went to Steakouts. Had great service and great food, which saved my afternoon. Not sure I'll be back to Kavanaughs - but I did have a great first trip and kinda hoping this was just a fluke. read more

My husband and I stopped by for a late lunch after a chilly 18 holes of golf. Service at the bar was quick and friendly. We ordered a burger and fries, the bar tender saw we were trying to warm up and got our order of fries ( so perfectly fried! Crispy) quickly! The burger was done to perfection, the beef was delicious - full of flavor. Fresh. On other visits we enjoy their wings- and fried pickles - so good, both. The place is small and dark, but not too dark. They play good music, large tv's with sports and local news. The booths are nice option when the bar seating is crowded. Local organizations hold fundraisers here- always a good number of patrons show up. Kavanaghs is a good place to go for a quick dinner or a lunch after a cold 18 holes of golf!! read more

We stopped by on our way home from the Jersey shore. I had the Turkey Reuben. The turkey was oven roasted and delicious. My husband had the club sandwich. The ham was off the bone not deli style. Won't ever eat here again!!! We are new to the area and wanted to try some local spots. We decided to stop in and grab a bite. WELL it's definitely not a place to go eat if ur looking for a "Pub" style atmosphere. It's more like ur neighborhood dive bar where the local drunks go to hide from their wives. We sat in a booth and the table was so dirty and sticky I had to put napkins under my elbows so I wouldn't stick to the table, there was dirt and food particles in the corner of my booth seat, cob webs in the windows, dirt and dust all over the window sills and ledges (along with crumbs) it was just gross. The fried food (Fries, mozzarella logs, chicken tenders, onion rings) came out so DARK and crispy that u can tell the oil hasn't been changed in months, not to mention the mozzarella logs were still cold inside. Then we had to listen to the patrons sitting at the bar discuss their farting habits and even make sound effects to go along. It was a very unpleasant experience and I won't be returning. My advice get a cleaning service to scrub that place, maybe sand and shellac the tables and booths so they actually look nice. On a side note the waitresses were very sweet and nice. read more

I used to come here often and the service and food would be awesome. Lately though - we had to wait over an hour for appetizers (it wasn't crowded), the waitress consistently forgot us and our orders magically dropped (we didn't find out until after waiting for it to arrive for 45 minutes and went to physically find someone for a status update). When we politely asked to speak to a manager, they refused to get one and instead sent the busboy out to act as the manager. While they were kind enough to comp our appetizers, we still had to wait for an hour for the check (to pay for our drinks - we weren't crazy enough to order more food after this wait). But thankfully the waitress was kind enough to spray our table down while we were still eating, and left the spray cleaner on the table for lovely ambience. Love the place but one of the worse bartenders ever as I sit waiting over 15 minutes for another drink as the bartender stands at the other end of the bar trying to empty the old mans wallet I sat and sat she comes up and talks to me so fast didn't understand a word throws a beer in front of and keeps walking back to the old dude I wanted a menu but the chance of getting one was not going to happen she was more into the old guy trying to get my tab was another story so I left 7 bucks on the bar and left . The funny thing is I stopped in 2 weeks later same long blond hair girl on the bar and the same old dude at the other end almost like they never left I sat down waited about 10 minutes never was asked what I wanted the man sitting to my left said good luck he was sitting there 15 minutes waiting for a beer got up left the place sure did change heads up don't go on sunday if your thirsty for a drink read more

This was one of my favorite pubs for a while especially since it's a local one but the last few months service has been absolutely terrible especially since they have a bunch of young inexperienced bartenders. First incident was a Monday night with the bartender Brianna who was more worried about watering drinks down then fixing the drinks that multiple customers back to her. Then I came back Tuesday night trivia and a older more experienced bartender named Deb made up for my terrible Monday experience. Deb is truly the only reason I'm not giving 1 Star. I have experienced long waits for a drink and food in the past here, so this is nothing new. Last nights service and dinner was less than mediocre. Deb was struggling to keep up w/bar and tables!! Possibly a newbie floating "around" aimlessly ... many patrons were "empty" or waiting for food orders. Took a bit to get our drink orders in, ordered food pretty much right away. Ordered a house salad to share w/ my honey (for $5.99), it was the core of the lettuce, not alot of lettuce either & not mixed with any other lettuces (as the menu states), onions were cut as if they were gonna use them for onion rings... it was a rushed salad to say the least. Burger was overcooked (asked for medium rare) and falling apart ( on a bright note is was OK). Will I be back to eat??? Probably NO, drinks with friends??? Possibly. read more

Every time I've ever been in here (with the exception of one time because it was a different bartender), no matter how many people are at the bar, it takes almost 10 minutes to even have a bartender turn her head and look in my direction. Then it takes even more time for her to come over and say, "What can I get you?" Whether it be for packaged goods or sitting at the bar for a drink or two. Despite its quaint yet unwelcoming outward appearance, the food is fantastic!!!! I'm writing this review while still inside the pub. Undoubtably the absolute best Turkey Melt I have ever had. The buffalo chicken tater tots were exceptional as well, not just in taste but portion! WOW!
