I've lived in Kenosha for 15 years and only became aware of this hidden gem in the last year. What a great value for families and friends. They bring in amazing talent and put on such high quality shows at prices for all families to come and enjoy. I can't speak on the one star review about the board but both times I've been there I got to meet the board members as they are actively working/volunteering their time at the door, 50/50 raffle and concessions and they brought a lot of energy and took the time to tell me and others about the history of the building and all the work they are doing to make improvements to the building through donations. I walked away impressed by their current leadership and can not stress enough how good the production value and shows are. Highly recommend for a date night or a time with your family!

My husband surprised me when he said he wanted to attend & we both enjoyed the event immensely. The second event was in October to paint the Scary House. I had registered to attend with my good friend but due to unforseen circumstances she had to cancel at the last minute. My husband offered to accompany me as I had already registered & paid. We both were amazed this was not just painting a picture of a house, it was an art class taught by Tom Perkowitz. It was truly a memorable experience & who knew ? A Saturday afternoon date for this married couple who are polar opposites in many ways, accidentally discovering they had found a hobby that appealed to both of them & should pursue future events of this type. I bought paint by number sets for us & am hoping that more of this classes will be offered at the studio or may just create a paint party of my own with friends if there are no events coming up. I rate this a 5 & highly recommend this place to one & all.

Still, I looked forward to the exhibition "Alex Ross: Heroes & Villains" at the Dunn Museum in Libertyville. Ross painted full size portraits of the well known core characters in the Marvel Universe, as well as characters he grew up with. They are painted in such a way, with the same lighting, so that all of the characters fit together, no matter how they are arranged. There are individual portraits, and then there are two large assemblages -- heroes on one side and villains on the other. He spent 7-10 hours on each piece and the enter project of Marvel heroes took about a year -- the villains project took place a few years later. When we visited, we saw adults and teens, engrossed in the details, and taking pictures with the large murals. Other than two plaques of information, there is not much explanation from the artist. I would have liked to see more about his process, or which heroes and villains were Ross' favorites. Still, the exhibit is fun and quite reasonably priced - $10/adults, $5 seniors/teens on top of the already low ticket for the Dunn Museum admission. The items in the gift shop were great.

The Dunn Museum, operated by the Lake County Forest Preserves, recently expanded with a brand-new 3,000-square-foot gallery designed specifically for large-scale exhibitions.  Alex Ross's special exhibition is the first one to be unveiled there.  I found the new gallery very spacious, comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and professionally executed. Renowned for his use of gouache to paint incredibly lifelike portraits of Marvel and DC icons, Ross has elevated comic book illustration into the realm of fine art.  The exhibition showcases 100 stunning portraits, each reflecting the unique personality and attitude of the character, which naturally shapes their pose. The portraits form two larger-than-life murals that fully immerse visitors, creating a perfect backdrop to step into the world of comics and pose with your favorite characters. We were so grateful and pleasantly surprise that Alex Ross was present at the Media Preview.  Although he is such an iconic artist in the comic world, he is so friendly, warm, and down-to-earth. We were absolutely delighted to meet and chat with him. The museum's slogan is "Arrive curious. Leave inspired." That was exactly how I felt. I have only had casual exposure to the comic universe through superhero movies like Superman, Batman, and Spiderman, and I did not know much about the artists behind the scenes. However, after seeing Ross's work up close, I came away a true fan of Ross, with a newfound respect for his comic art! Although this is a ticketed special exhibit to the public, $5 - $10 in addition to the general admission, it is well worth the price and special trip to see it.  The exhibition runs from June 29 through February 16, 2026.  Go see it if you have a chance! When you go, do stop by the gift shop, which is well-stocked with comic books and merchandise that fans will love.  There are even Heroes books and Villains books signed by Alex Ross available behind the counter for $100 each. Alex Ross: Heroes & Villains is the Dunn Museum's second exhibit featuring the celebrated artist's work, following 2019's Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross. This exhibition also supports the Preservation Foundation's "Every Acre Strong" initiative, which raises funds to help maintain and protect Forest Preserve lands, making sure they stay healthy and thriving for generations to come.  I highly recommend this exhibit!

We worked with Susie the week before the party on selecting a picture to paint. The birthday girl had fun picking the picture! Susie arrived early to set up the easels and the tools. Event kicked off on time and we caught up stragglers pretty easily. Susie had a great demeanor with the kids. She walked around the table helping the kiddos and addressing concerns on erroneous strokes. The kids were very engaged and loved the painting event. Plus cleanup was quick and easy. We were easily able to move on to lunch and cake.

My daughter was allowed to sign up for Ballet / Tap class via Zoom throughout the year, but was not…read moreallowed to be a part of the Recital because "she did not learn the dance properly via zoom/ Choreography wouldn't be fair over Zoom/ no one of Zoom is part of the Recital" and the outfit for her class was "sold out". I spent $540 (full price) on her classes for the September to May class and was never informed that she cannot participate in the Recital and subsequently was not learning the dance "properly" on Zoom; however my card was eagerly charged on the first day of each month. I was also never contacted and asked if my Zoom student wants to participate in the recital. I reached out and informed Trilogy 3 weeks in advance that she will be participating (could have used any basic yellow outfit since hers was sold out), but was told "No" since it would not "match" the other kids ( I mean who really cares! - these are 4-7 year olds!). During some classes she was not let in due to technical difficulties on their end (!) and I was never credited or refunded any fees. Had to call multiple times for any issues to be addressed. Will not be returning and subjecting my kid to this program ever again and would not recommend this dance school. They do not care for their dancers at all.

Our daughter started with Trilogy a year ago and we plan to stay a part of the Trilogy family for as long as my daughters little legs can dance! Not only is the owner a sweetheart, but they encourage children to dance their little hearts out and do it with incredible technique, strong will, and passion. The shows and competitions are magnificent honestly. Music is well thought out and the children look so happy dancing. The time put in by the entire crew (dancers,teachers, extra help and parents ) shows in the quality of performance. There is a difference between this dance school and your basic park district dance class. Nothing wrong with either but Trilogy definitely takes their quality of dance seriously. They teach the children responsibility that the children can take with them outside of dance and into their everyday lives as they grow. Not to mention how ADORABLE these dancers are!
