They use only essie products, so you know your nail polish is going to be long lasting. My recommendation is to splurge a little more and get the "Ultimate Pedicure". Not only would you get the world most pampered experience on your toes, you will also get a scalp and shoulder message with aromatic lavender oil or lime oil. Even though the store is a bit on the small side, they have a table at the center for you to sit around and enjoy coffee while waiting for your toes to dry. They recommend you to stay around for 30 minutes before putting your winter boots on. While in Cali, I could easily throw some flip flops on and hop into the car, in london it's not always possible. Half shop and half spa, the friendly staff took me in and sat me in a large, plush chair while giving me a relaxing pedicure as I sipped champagne. While the manicure area is quite small, on the ground floor with the shop, below is more spa space and they have an extensive list of services. Their shop products suit every mood with names such as 'Knackered Cow' for relaxation or 'Grumpy Cow' for a lift. I know that mistakes happen from time to time so I told my technician that I was bleeding and I asked for antiseptic. He took a look and told me I was fine. I repeated myself in case he didn't understand and he continued to shake his head and say it was fine. I was absolutely appalled. I already paid so I slipped on my shoes and went straight to boots to pick up antiseptic. I really hope I don't get an infection but what really frustrates me is being gaslighted as if I am the problem. I will never return but still feel this isn't enough. As they are situated in the middle of Oxford Circus, it is busy, and finding a makeup artist to assist you can be abit of a challenge. Their products are ready and open up on display for people to test out their products. I must say, the feel and quality of their makeup ranges are top notch! I was lucky enough to be assisted by one of the makeup artist called 'Jazmine', she was professional, friendly and was able to assist me on finding the right products for my face. They have a makeup station where she tested some of the foundation products on my face, and giving tips and advice on facial care. Very satisfied with the end result and all at an awesome price! Before I hadn't been that bothered by make up, Boots blue eyeshadow was about as far as I had got. Mac really opened my eyes to how much fun makeup can be. I loved how it felt - back then, most of the lipsticks had a matt consistency, it went on heavily and smelt like sweet play-doh. I loved the fact that they were 100% against animal testing - quite unusual for make up at the time. It was at this store just off Carnaby Street that I used to go wild in. For about 5 years, I was all about the Spice lip liner, now I have lots of favourite lipsticks. And don't get me started on the eye shadows! This is probably my favourite Mac store in London. Because it is tucked away it doesn't get crazy busy like say, the Mac counter in Selfridges (don't even think about going to that one if you have lots of questions - I only go there when I know exactly what I want). I had my eye makeup done here once and I came out looking like I was ready for a photo shoot. The women aren't overly pushy here, and they are happy to help out.

The markup pricing is ridiculous compared to US and Canadian pricing (and the Canadian markup is bad enough... considering most of the products are made a few kilometers from where I live!) and the MAC Pro discount is only 20% off here for industry professionals, as opposed to 30% in North America and Germany (And it's 40% off for makeup artists in North America). I save my MAC shopping for when I'm at home or the odd occasion I go to the Estée Lauder warehouse sales. This store is shiny and lovely and the location is very convenient (right off Carnaby St) but the service is so-so.
