I wanted to really like this place because the people that work here are so nice but the pizza is just okay. It taste like a greasier version of frozen pizza. There's plenty of cheese and sauce, which is nice. We ordered half pepperoni and each piece only had two pieces on it. The crust was crispy but the taste was just okay. The price was cheap. Just $13 for a large and two sodas. There's free refills as well. The soda was on the watery side. I went to use the bathroom because we had a two hour ride ahead of us and the toilet was broken. Toilet paper that did not belong to me came back up and the water almost overflowed. Overall the employees are very nice but you are getting what you pay for. read more

Hollywood Pizza - a slice missing from a pepperoni pizza - Pizza Near Me - Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania

Went here based off a recommendation and was told this was among the best pizzas in the area and that they had tremendous cannolis. I was skeptical based on the name alone. The fact that it's in Mt Carmel certainly didn't help. Pretty much every restaurant with the word "Hollywood" in it that isn't actually located somewhere in or near Hollywood/LA is mediocre at best and this place is no different. Walking in, the place looks like a dive - but not in a good dive kind of way...more like this is the place where dreams go to die kind of way. Placed my order for 2 slices with sausage and pepperoni. The kid working the counter says they can't do sausage on slices because it's frozen. That should have been my cue to walk out, and if I wasn't hungry I would have. So I asked for mushrooms and pepperoni instead. I also grabbed a cannoli and had a seat. A few minutes later, my slices were brought to my table. Didn't realize going in that they make rectangle pizzas....not Sicilian pizza with a nice thick crust...just a rectangle pie with a normal crust. The slices were both small. Each of them had just 2 pieces of pepperoni and a few slices of mushrooms on top. Taste wise they were ok, but not the least bit filling. Then I had my cannoli and it was hands down the single worst cannoli I have had in my life. It tasted like pure Anise, which is definitely supposed to be used in a cannoli, but this thing basically tasted like I was eating black liquorice. Just flat out awful. There's nothing "Hollywood" about this place at all. Not in the location, the ambiance, the decor, and definitely not in the pizza. This could be the best pizza joint in Mt Carmel for all I know, which wouldn't be hard to believe, but it's definitely not worth going out of your way to stop here. In fact, you'd be better off going out of your way to eat somewhere else. read more

I'm seriously disappointed in Hollywood Pizza. My fiancée placed an order over the phone for a half pan supreme pizza. They read the order back to her and let her know it would be 25 minutes. We get there and she went in to get our supreme pizza. They did a half pan cheese pizza. She told them they got the order wrong so they said "Ok. We'll get you the right one. But it'll be another 25 minutes." Well, we weren't going to wait another half hour for a pizza which would've meant waiting a total of 50 minutes to get the right pizza for dinner. So she told them no because we also had 3 hungry children with us. Well, I can't stand just plain cheese pizza so I'm obviously disappointed to have waited that long for a pizza I won't eat without it having to be doctored at home so it'll at least have some toppings. THEY READ THE VERY SIMPLE ORDER BACK TO HER AND STILL SCREWED UP THE ORDER. THEN SAID THEY WOULD MAKE THE RIGHT ONE BUT IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 25 MINUTES! Unacceptable! The only reason I'm not giving them one star is because the kids ate the cheese pizza. Kids aren't picky obviously. But I put my faith in them to cook a very simple item and pay them for the service. We bought pizza for our first time today. The crust was that hard that neither of neither of us could chew it! The cheese was burnt! Needless to say we will never be buying from there again! The whole operation, the family, and the atmosphere are all top notch / class acts. The coal region is known for a lot of different style pizzas, and Hollywood ranks among the best. They're hot sauce is out of this world, and worth the trip alone. read more

This place is a hidden gem! We ordered a plain cheese pizza and mushroom pizza. The sauce was robust, slightly sweet and flavorful; the cheese was complex and perfectly melted and the crust was thin and baked to perfection! We're from out of town and will definitely be visiting again! read more

Great pizza at a really good price! One of the best pizzas in the area, also a great place for baked goods and authentic Italian pastries. The place is historic to the town, once being a theatre and then a bowling alley and then a pizza place for the last 45 years or so! A must stop for out of towners and Mt.Carmel nostalgia fans along with all pizza fans! It's also the only pizza place in the area that's open until 11 PM on Fridays! The downside is I don't think they deliver. read more

First of all the smell inside was almost enough to make me leave already and as it is very sad that they used to have a better quality store and products that doesn't shy away from the fact that their food is also bad. My friend and I ordered pizza from here for a club of ours and it was absolutely horrible. The bread felt like it was crumbling in my mouth the cheese was, well, not cheese from what I'm fond of, and there was lack of sauce. After we all finished most of it , most of the club was sick. Also the pieces that were left over turned so hard that someone mistook them for plastic. I don't recommend ordering from this place unless you're absolutely starving. read more

i may be biased, as i have been eating this all my life, but imo, this is the best plain pizza (as opposed to a sweet sauce pizza- i go elsewhere for those) i have ever had. the general recipe/ingredients go well together, but from time to time they do get employees that can cook them better than others (it is a thin crust, so they burn easily. a crispy burnt crust on one is AWFUL, and i have had it happen) but i eat here often, and the times ive had a bad one i can count on one hand. reading that back, it really dosent sound like a good review, lol, but just being totally honest. i would eat this pizza every day if i could. i only took off that one star for the 2-3 bad ones ive had in 38 years. and dont forget to ask for hot sauce!! read more

Traveling on business today. Had a great lunch! Pizza was tasty! Bakery goods were simply Devine.

I have to say i am not fan. The crust taste like cardboard and the cheese and sauce seem to be thrown together. While the staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is grotesque. I feel like i need a shower when i leave, especially in the summer when there is no ventilation in the restaurant and you are sweating as you walk in. There pasteries are too great either. I was excited to try them having heard such great thing but disapointed to find they were dried out and hard. The only reason i give it one star is because i feel bad for the staff !! read more

First time in the area. Crust is fresh and crunchy. Sauce and cheese just as yummy!! Would definitely eat here again!
