The ambiance is what you should expect from an Italian restaurant that is 40 plus years old. It was a touch too hot and something was buzzing on an off that was distracting. We are not from the area and basically we were googling a place to have a casual dinner while on the road. The atmosphere is basic and very casual. It is clean. Waitress was friendly, but a bit difficult to understand. My Husband ordered the "Pete's Speciality" Pizza and it was delicious! Lots of toppings on it and the dough was fresh. I got chicken cacciatore with a salad. It was delicious. The sauce is very good. Lots of chicken and vegetables in the dish. I couldn't wait to eat the leftovers the next day. Glad we stopped. We stop in here for subs or pizza occasionally while we're out riding and have always had a good experience. Subs are big and full and the pizza is one of the best in the area. Nick really makes them so tasty. they are perfectly toasted and the ham is just perfect tasting. if you like ham/cheese cosmos then Pete's is the place to go. you won't be disappointed. i don't order from anywhere else when i'm hungry for ham/cheese cosmo i head to Petes. Has to be one of the best restaurants in the area. Frank and his father make sure everyone is welcome and everything is made to perfection. Frank is also an amazing baker and makes some of the best deserts ever. His father Pete can be seen there sometimes and he'll have a nice conversation with you, all the workers there are so nice. The subs, pizza, pasta, and burgers here are great. Prices are low enough, maybe even too low. If you're in the mood for some good Italian food in a nice friendly atmosphere this is the place to go! Our family and friends go to Pete's quite often. The food is spectacular and we have ALWAYS been greeted with a smile from Pete and a visit to our table to see how everything is. I happened to go with a few friends last night. We arrived about 8:40pm. The restaurant closes at 9:00pm. Our waitress was not too pleasant and we have had her before and she always seems to be very miserable. I asked her if it was too late for us to order and she said you better hurry and get your order in. So we all ordered quickly. Most of us ordered the grilled chicken salad and one person ordered a cheese steak sandwich. Food was great. The waitress continued to be very unpleasant and made us feel like we were not welcome. We left her a VERY generous tip as well. As we went to the register to pay we each payed for what we had ordered. The waitress said that was ridiculous to have to split it up that way. It went very smoothly.... there were 5 of us and one child so we just told the cashier (Pete's son and the most awesome chef) what we had, he rang it up and crossed it off the bill so we didn't miss anything.It was really quit simple and did not take long at all. After we left we were standing outside and looked in the window and the waitress looked like she was completely throwing a fit. We all do not know what she was so upset about we left her a very generous tip, we were pleasant, Pete came to our table to visit with us and joked around with my friend's son (he always jokes around with the children) really did not see any issues. The only thing that I can maybe say is that she shouldn't be a waitress if she doesn't like her job and that maybe now is the time to look for something that is not in the customer service industry!!!
