Arrived Early, Treated Rudely, Safety Issues, 30+ Minutes Late We prepaid for the 11:00 AM open-air tour 4 days in advance and arrived at 10:40 AM with printed confirmation stating the bus leaves on time and all late arrivals are bumped to the next tour. Instead, we were repeatedly told to "come back closer to 11" and then that there was a "bus issue" and come back at 11:15 am. We wandered around in the cold. We checked in 3-4 times because we had lunch plans after the 2-hour tour. Staff claimed another group was late (which turned out NOT to be true). Meanwhile, employees were trying to recruit more passengers. Only after we said we were canceling 30 minutes late, did they send us to board a bus. The driver was nice, but one seat behind him had no working seat belt. Three blocks after leaving, the bus was called back to pick up a group of 8 even though there were only 7 seat belts available. We were pressured to give up our safe seats and wait for another bus. We refused to exit. We refused to sit without a seat belt. The older male staff member was aggressive and extremely rude. The tour left over 30 minutes late. Disorganized, misleading, RUDE older man and unsafe. Horrible experience for the start of our vacation. Would NOT recommend. read more

We had a great time, got on across the street from the Chinese theater we did the tour that was about an hour and a half in one of the small open vans. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun! Had a great time seeing Beverly Hills, stars houses and the Hollywood sign. read more

I don't know if this tour is for everyone but it's for me. And pretty much all of my friends. And anyone who wants to have an awesome experience of LA by bike. With a fun guide. Who knows a lot about a lot. Some of those things are LA related. Some of them are not. After leaving San Francisco, Kris headed home but I took the girls (my Dutch exchange student and her Argentine exchange student friend) down the coast to LA where we scheduled a bike tour because that's what we do. In every city we visit. I found Bike Tours Hollywood on yelp from the train and because I had spotty service booked it quickly and figured that for the price, it was fine even if it ended up sucking. It didn't end up sucking. Our tour was set for 11 a.m. and like many of the tour companies, met at an address that's pretty much just where they swipe your credit card - not where they have a physical business. The physical business is a wooden podium and umbrella on the sidewalk. We arrived a few minutes early (usually you have to do that for a bike tour) but were told our guide would be there to fit us at 11 so we just hung around. After getting bikes we were off with a first stop at the fire escape in Pretty Woman. This is pretty much the first stop in any Hollywood tour. I'm serious. What happened next was not what happens on every tour. A douche in an Acura (wait, did we suddenly end up on Long Island?) nearly ran us off the road and started being a dick. This is LA, which is becoming more and more bike friendly and apparently the Douche is an endangered species. Like most endangered species it is hostile toward its competition. But, we are sassy (not the girls, but the guide and I) and we triumphed. Seriously. This was both fun and exciting and I bet some people thought we were filming a movie. After that we road around and saw lots of studios (tv, film, music), venues where people get started, famous scenes from the previous parenthetical and Richard Dreyfus. Who was kind of a dick. We also got to check out a few of the Scientology buildings. They were having a pretty big party at one. We weren't invited. Our guide, after showing us some initial sites, took us through some pretty neighborhoods leading to a park in a canyon. It was here we saw the Bat Cave and then the Hollywood sign. We took a ton of pictures here and met some interesting characters. Like Santa Porn. Apparently people like to come up here and view the sites of old tv shows (batman, star trek, etc) and this includes guys like Santa Porn. He approached us and asked if we were on a tour (did our matching pink sweatshirts give it away?). When we said yes he said that many groundbreaking things were shot right where we were standing. Our guide nicely asked if he was from the industry and Papa Noel said, "Yes, I am," and so we asked him to share a story. He began telling us about a porno he filmed. Wait - what? Yeah. And when our guide tried to take a picture he freaked out. So weird. Can we go back? Now? BIZARRENESS ABOUNDS and I loved it! So did the girls. After the film area we climbed a little hill to get the best views of the Hollywood Sign and take some pictures. Twp dudes were shooting a video (not inspirational, not a commercial... we asked. I'm convinced it was porn, too) of a hairless guy with the most amazing abs. Ever. I drooled. After this we road back down past Brad Pitt's compound and some other places and through a really cool farmers' market where we stopped to peruse the wares. We also did some cruising along Hollywood Blvd. This review is long and rambly and cannot capture the awesomeness of this tour. Just go. Trust me. It's fun and there's bound to be excitement. Possibly a few fights. And, if you're lucky, Santa Porn will pay you a visit! read more

My son and I did a bike tour of Hollywood as part of a trip to SoCal to celebrate his high school graduation. The bike tour with Scott has been by far the highlight of our trip! I've never used any other bike tours in Hollywood, but after taking this one, I'll never choose another! If you want advanced rides he has them! If you aren't as comfortable with biking and want a casual ride through Hollywood, there's one for you too! The bike I rode was a hybrid so it's easy on the uphill's, but it's also a very comfortable ride with wider tires than a trad road bike. My favorite thing about the tour was Scott my guide. He not only knew everything I would be interested in about the history of the places we visited, but as we rode along Hollywood Blvd and over to Griffith Park he knew everyone! They know him by name, and I didn't meet one person who wasn't happy and excited to see him! It made you feel like you were home out for an evening ride! I felt safe the entire time! We booked a tour for Thursday afternoon on Monday, paid for it in advance, and received a confirmation email. When we showed up at the site a few minutes before the time we booked, Scott was nowhere to be found and no one on the premises could tell us where he was, and he wasn't answering his phone. After waiting around for the guy to show up for half an hour, we finally gave up and left. He did eventually call, apologizing and explaining that something important had come up. That wasn't a satisfactory response -- we had gone all the way down there, paid for parking, planned our day around the tour we'd booked in advance, etc -- and I'd certainly caution anyone else against booking a tour with Scott, who completely flaked out on us and wasted a big chunk of our time because he couldn't bother to keep his appointment (or even get in touch with us to cancel if it was an emergency). He refunded our money, which is literally the least he could do since he failed to provide any of the services we'd paid for, but I would absolutely recommend staying away from this flaky operation. read more

I met Scott a little late (my fault) and he was totally cool. After making sure I had water and sun block, we hit the road. He took me directly to the Capitol Records Building because he knew that Katy Perry would be there un-veilng a new star. We hung out there and got some great photos and then started toward Griffin Park. On the way, we bumped into Ron Perlman (Clay from Sons of Anarchy) and get a photo with him. Then up to the park for some beautiful views of the Hollywood sign. We were on a roll, because at the park, was a crew from a Michael Bay production so we got to see some cool stuff. Then coasted back down to Sunset Blvd to hit some of the classic places (Dolby Theatre, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, etc,), What I liked was that we saw a low while getting great exercise. Add in Pasadena and I think I'd kill myself. But when Aunt Mabel and Cousin José come to town, they want to SIGHTSEE!!!! Here is your solution: PUT THEM ON THIS BUS. For two to five hours, your relatives can enjoy what to you would be the worst day on Earth, but for them is a trip to Movie Magic Land'. The LITTLE YELLOW BUS of Hollywood Sightseeing Tours is better than the crappy-ass BIG RED BUS tour because the LITTLE YELLOW BUS can make sharper turns and sneak into more famous people's driveways. If you are a sadist (or you actually like your relatives) you can go on the tour too and add your own commentary: "That's my gym" "That's the ATM I use a lot" "I once saw a homeless man peeing there" etc. I will confess that I DID do this tour and learned a few interesting facts after all: #1) Aaron Spelling just sold his house for only $85 million. Poor guy. That was $65 million less than his asking price. #2) Bob Newhart lives in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air House. I WANT TO LIVE IN THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR HOUSE! #3) The words "Nicholas Cage" and "Boing!" are the same in English and German. Thank you, large German man behind me for translating the entire tour into German, much more loudly than the tour guide. Of course you love your family, but when you need a few hours to finish that draft of your webseries or work your day job, or just get high call the little yellow bus. read more

After looking through a few options, my group of 5 traveling through CA for a few days decided that we were most interested in doing a bike tour. Personally, I didn't think that I'd find Hollywood very interesting but this tour completely changed that and would recommend this tour to anybody, without question. My group did the 2-hour tour, but I'd certainly do the longer ones if I ever return to LA. The tour was an awesome mix of history, celebrity, tourist attractions and ature. Can't imagine going on a better tour and having the same mix of seeing a studio Led Zeppelin recorded in, then the Chinese Theatre, Brad Pitt's house and Bronson Caves / Grififth Park. Scott was an absolutely great tour guide. He was very flexible and it's clear that he knew so much about the area. After some confusion initially, I learned that I booked some of the group for 5:00 PM that day, instead of the 11:00 AM I thought. Scott was 100% cool with adjusting and we were all able to go in the morning without any issue. He was also accommodating in making sure nobody was struggling on the bikes and kept everybody safe when biking throughout the city. Without repeating a lot more of what other reviewers have already said, I highly recommend this tour. You'll see a lot, learn a ton about various things, be entertained and get a halfway decent workout all in a short time. Scott is fantastic and if I return to LA, there's no way I'd consider doing any other tour. Do yourself a favor and check this out. read more

See LA like you've never seen it! We've been to LA a few times but this was by far the most fun we've had. Scott, our tour guide, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and just a lot of fun. He showed us places where Hollywood history had been made. Many of these buildings lack signs or are rather nondescript, but they could be a recording studio where rock greats had played, apartments where stars had lived, etc. Biking in LA was pretty easy and we felt safe with Scott guiding us. As an added bonus, he seems to know just about everyone on his route. Great way to see the city, get some exercise and fresh air, and have fun. DO IT!! read more

I have been on some very fun bike tours in many U.S. cities and this one definitely is one of my favs! I enjoyed riding through the city, to Griffith park and the short hike to the Bat Cave was an added bonus. It was great to be able to see many of the traditional tourist spots from a different vantage point. Definitely, you should plan to take this bike tour if you want to spend a fun afternoon on two wheels, checking out the sites of LA. As a local, I never thought I'd plan a bus tour, but since a friend was in town it was a great idea. The locations were good selections as there was something for everyone to enjoy. The views were beautiful and the allotted 2 hours was plenty of time to take as much information in. From the start he was full of enthusiasm and smiles and really made you feel he wanted to be with you and loved what he was doing. We ran into traffic and car problems, making us over an hour late for our appointment. Since we were a large group, Scott set aside the rest of the day for us and waited for us to find him (that part was a little confusing). The tour was a lot of fun--I enjoyed weaving through Hollywood traffic and taking in the sights from a bicycle. I worried that our group members would have a hard time on the bicycles (one turned out to be afraid of riding a bike) but Scott did a great job coaching her and guiding the group safely through traffic. The bicycles were in top-notch condition and easy to maneuver on the streets and uphill. All in all, a great experience and highly recommended for anyone who wants to tour Hollywood in a fun, unique way. read more

Do yourself a favor, and don't bother calling this company. It is run by a guy who knows nothing about customer service and will treat potential customers like garbage. Probably because he runs this "business" on his own out of his apartment. I made a reservation for 3 bikes. I called the day of just to see if I could get a better price on them, the manager Scott flipped out on me and accused me of trying to hustle him and refused to rent the bikes to me at all. It was clear that someone offered him more money for the bikes and he decided to rent to them. This ruined my plans for the weekend, and I really did not appreciate the accusations he made at me on the phone. Do not call this place! read more

If you like having a great time and learning neat things, this tour is for you. I chose the all day tour which is about a 40-45 mile ride. Don't worry, Scott has a really great, relatively flat easy route. You get to see so many many many things. Scott's knowledge of the area, the industry and history is amazing. Scott has a great sense of humor and really makes the ride fun and interesting. His care and empathy for others also shines through. After a day of hanging out and riding with Scott, I left feeling like I had a new friend. I also gained a perspective and an appreciation for Hollywood/LA that I didn't have before. Haven't done the tour, but for bicyclists the repair work here is top notch. Better than that, I recently brought my bike in thinking I needed new brakes. Scott realized the problem was I only needed an adjustment. A lot of other bike shops would have taken my money, but that's not the way they do business here. I was leaving California in 2 days and I had not yet visited Hollywood and Beverly Hills-Gosh, I needed to figure out a way to go to these two places. So I figured out the cheapest way that I could do this was to rent a bike and explore these places by myself. Got on Yelp (yes, this is the first site I go to every time I need some local business information)-and Hollywood Tours and Bike Rentals showed up, with a one star review. Umm, went to their website anyway, and the rental price was a big turn on--it was so freaking cheap! But....it has only one star review..Well, I thought to myself, screw it, I needed the bike, I needed to see Hollywood and Beverly Hills in one day! (And this guy-called Scott, actually defended the legitimacy of his business, and he sounded super nice on the phone when I called him up, so, I might as well give it a chance.) To be honest, Scott's bike business did look a bit sketchy at the start. He did not have a business premise, and he asked me to wait for him at a spot when I arrived at the Walk of Fame. The one star review by Hans D came to my mind and I was like, OMG, is it a prank or what? Scott showed up shortly after, and boy, renting a bike from him was one of the best decisions I made from the LA trip. First, he was super-duper nice and cool! He is from France but he speaks fluent English. All he asked from me were my photo identification, and the fee for an all day rental, which was cheap!!!! The other bike shops offer much higher rates, and they are like far far away from Hollywood. I am small framed, and he had a bike that I could ride comfortably (yes, so comfy!) that fitted my height. That was the start of January 2012. He had about 6 or 7 bikes that time, and he was going to have a business premise soon. So come on, he was not like a scammer as the other one review said, he is just one cycling aficionado trying to start out his small business of renting bikes to people who love biking like him. Having a proper place to do business requires upfront investment, but he was getting around to do it. Thanks to the bike, I managed to explore the whole West Hollywood in one day (it is an awesome experience by the way and I recommend biking to anyone who like to explore hard-to-go-by-bus-places. I went all the way to the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills down to the Groove Farmers Market and came back up to Hollywood.) On the first day of our trip to LA we wanted to know all about Hollywood but did not want to sit in a bus and have places just pointed out to us. We booked the Hollywood Hiking/Walking tour with Scott of Hollywood Tourz and had a wonderful experience. We started by walking Hollywood Blvd where he pointed out interesting fun facts of places we would have never looked at on our own. This was a very hands-on experience as he took us in and out of small places. He then took us on a hike through a trail of Runyon Canyon Park.
