I've never done this type of tour before, but we really enjoyed it and the best part is you get to enjoy the whole ship before and after. I'd recommend hitting a bar and grabbing a cocktail and walking the ship to take photos. Parking was pretty easy outside the ship we didn't have any issues at all. My daughter and her friends went on this tour after the ghost tour was sold out. The fact that I paid $350 for five girls to walk around a boat is asinine. Booo! This fun 2-hour walking tour was both spooky and full of history. Spoiler: no paranormal activity was observed on this night! Christina was our knowledgeable & friendly guide for the evening, and her passion for the Queen Mary was obvious. As of 5/25/2023, this tour was the lengthiest of the tours offered, so even if I wasn't as interested in the haunted tales of the Queen Mary, I would have chosen this tour for its substantial opportunity to see so much of the ship. The Queen Mary recently reopened after a three-year closure due to the pandemic, which led to much-needed repairs & renovations. While some areas are not yet finished, many spaces are accessible, having been lovingly restored to their vintage art-deco glory. She is definitely a magical beauty! Boarding the Queen Mary currently seems to require a reservation, as my name was matched to a list at the ticket stand by the elevator. Since we had both a stateroom & tour reserved, we were able to arrive early, settle in to our room, wander the decks & public areas including the engine room, and enjoy cocktails in the Observation Bar, before checking in for our tour. Even then, we were a bit early so we walked around that deck & found a decadent ballroom (the Queen's Salon) that was later also part of our tour. On the tour, Christina led us all over the Queen Mary, sharing paranornal encounters that have been reported over the years, along with her own personal experience and those of her colleagues. She also juxtaposed historical facts & contemporaneous events for context & background surrounding the stories. We were able to visit most of the areas where sightings had been reported, which imcluded areas of the ship that are only accessible with a tour, like the bridge, isolation ward, swimming pool and propeller box. I highly recommend this tour! The Paranormal Walking Tour was a solid two hours, with only a couple of breaks to sit for a minute, so wear comfortable shoes & bring water. The wealth of history & fun facts about the Queen Mary were incredibly educational, and the beautiful architectural details throughout the ship were fantastic to see up-close & in-person. Note, I think our tour on a Thursday night was quite full, so plan ahead & reserve in advance. read more

The swimming pool is closed so you can't even go in there to see the area that was available a year ago. You can just pay to get on the ship and walk around yourself for this tour. This was more fun than I anticipated it was going to be. We were able to stop by the bar before the tour started and keep our drinks with us throughout the tour which was a huge plus. The tour is supposed to be 2 hours but it was more like 2.5! I recommend it. The biggest cons were the size of the group (tours are PACKED) which detracted from the spooky ambience and how hot some of the locations are. You'll be standing in some of those locations for a while as the group takes turns entering smaller spaces. I recommend going in the colder winter months. The Queen Mary seems to have been reenergized after its pandemic closure, definitely worth a revisit if you've been years ago. read more

Boyfriend surprised me with this tour last Sunday 8pm-10pm and what an awesome experience. I love all things paranormal and love the Queen Mary, so this tour was right up my alley. Arii was our guide and she was so informative, interactive with everyone, friendly, hilarious, and really seems to love what she does. The tour is a lot of walking and going up and down stairs so a bit tough if you have issues walking, but it loops around the boat and is planned out nicely. They even give you a break in the middle and have happy hour at the bar for drinks to go for the tour so that was nice! We got to experience places that not many people get to go to so it was a really neat and fun experience and of course, spooky. No jump scares, just spooky old parts of ship and history of the actual ship with the claims of the paranormal in those areas. While we waited to view the pool area we heard weird noises below a stairwell that was blocked off and it startled some people which was funny. Our tour guide Tim was absolutely amazing & has such knowledge & passion for this ship & definitely plays the role perfectly he answers ever question with interest & was very honest & upfront! The ship has so much history & has this gravitational pull of wanting to stay longer we did only stay for a day however in one day it feels like we really have been here longer thanks to the WONDERFUL staff around & throughout the ship!! We did get to enter the FAMOUS Paranormal room B340!! Everyone should definitely take advantage of your in the area to book ahead so this amazing tour!! As for the paranormal I would recommend bringing EVPs they do allow cameras and any videos to be taken! Be prepared to walk at least 2 hours or more and going up and down stairs. Have comfortable walking shoes!! If you are staying here as a hotel guest for the QM they do give a discount for all tours! Will definitely be coming back next year!! read more

We at 8pm and had a great time. Out your tour guide was very knowledgeable of the boats history and went into a good amount of detail on the paranormal experiences documented on the ship. The tour takes you walking all over the ship so wear walking / running shoes to be comfortable. One person in our party claims to have seen an apparition and another noticed objects moving. Would go again and see if I can experience something similar next time. read more

We did the graveyard hours tour and quite honestly, we would have been better off exploring the ship on our own. The tour hours are 12am -2am. Our guide was Stella and I'm sure she's a lovely person, but there were several issues against her favor - like her having to compete with unaccessible routes due to Dark Harbor; us getting jump scared, quite literally due to the animatronics, splitting up our group and not knowing where to follow. At times, it felt like our guide was over the whole tour, and didnt want to be there. It felt like a very disorganized tour that robbed us of our money ($90/person!). And also, be aware that even though the confirmation email with instructions will highly emphasize that people who are under the influence, will not be accepted to participate, that is a complete LIE. There were drunk, obnoxious people in the group, which truly added more frustration to the whole thing. Save your money. read more

I've lived in Long Beach for 6 years now and decided to come here for a date night after hearing positive things about it from friends. Craig was the best tour guide EVER. He made sure we were safe when walking through the nearly 100-year old ship. He made sure everyone was accounted for and checked in with everyone regularly. The tour lasted 2.5 hours and you get a 10 minute bio break mid way through. It was nice to be guided by Craig as I felt safe and didn't have to worry about anything - just enjoyed the ambience of this majestic ship. Craig was a wealth of knowledge when telling us about the Queen Mary's career. I felt like I was living part of history - I cannot recommend this tour enough. My fiance and I were bored on 7/5 (yesterday) and decided to book this tour at the Queen Mary at 7 PM. Our tour guide, Finn, was excellent!! He was funny and very knowledgeable about the ship's exciting history. It wasn't scary, but it was interesting. It gets really hot as you go into poorly ventilated areas of the ship and do lots of walking and climbing steps. I felt like I was boiling at certain points. We decided it was finally time to step aboard; We booked 2 tickets for the 7pm Queen Mary Paranormal ship walk and it was awesome! The ship looks and feels even bigger inside. Our tour guide was Craig, he had great energy and you could tell he was really passionate about the history and ghost lore tales. He made it fun along the way, we saw many parts of the ship above and below deck. Word to the wise: bring good comfortable walking shoes! It's a long tour with stairs along the way. Sooooo disappointed. What was supposed to be a 2 hour tour was turned into a 2.5 hour tour so people could take half an hour in the middle to get alcohol and use the restrooms. The paranormal part was missing from the tour. Tour guide seemed to have been pulled from the "history of the ship" tour to sub in for the paranormal tour which he straight up said he didn't believe in. I am definitely a cynic but my husband is more open to the possibility of the paranormal and I thought it might be interesting. But no, so boring. Left at the halfway point. I've been wanting to do this paranormal tour for so long and finally got the pleasure of attending last week with Craig as our tour guide! Craig made this tour so very enjoyable. He did a fantastic job giving us all the paranormal stories while also including a ton of history. All the information Craig shared with us actually let me to talking to my dad about the tour and I found out the Queen Mary brought my grandfather home from world war 2! The security staff is so rude and unbelievable! There were women from Dive Dive live doing a live stream tiktok that they had gotten permission to make and your security woman accused them of bringing in alcohol that they had gotten from your bar but then she insisted in them SAYING ON CAMERA what their room number is. They said they didn't want to on a live and showed their room key and off camera showed on their hands what the number was but that wasn't good enough. Threats to call the police were made. They went to their room where the head of security said they could go film if they wanted to but they didn't. The damage is done, now lots of people know what room these women are in because of security and you know darn well that security won't be anywhere to be found if something happens to them! They should have been given new rooms and a totally comped stay!! I will NEVER go there!!!!!! The people responsible to keep you safe makes false accusations and then threatens the police when you haven't done ANYTHING wrong AND THEN PUTS YOU IN DANGER!!!! NO THANK YOU!!! read more
