This was more fun than I anticipated it was going to be. We were able to stop by the bar before the tour started and keep our drinks with us throughout the tour which was a huge plus. The tour is supposed to be 2 hours but it was more like 2.5! I recommend it. The biggest cons were the size of the group (tours are PACKED) which detracted from the spooky ambience and how hot some of the locations are. You'll be standing in some of those locations for a while as the group takes turns entering smaller spaces. I recommend going in the colder winter months. The Queen Mary seems to have been reenergized after its pandemic closure, definitely worth a revisit if you've been years ago.

Boyfriend surprised me with this tour last Sunday 8pm-10pm and what an awesome experience. I love all things paranormal and love the Queen Mary, so this tour was right up my alley. Arii was our guide and she was so informative, interactive with everyone, friendly, hilarious, and really seems to love what she does. The tour is a lot of walking and going up and down stairs so a bit tough if you have issues walking, but it loops around the boat and is planned out nicely. They even give you a break in the middle and have happy hour at the bar for drinks to go for the tour so that was nice! We got to experience places that not many people get to go to so it was a really neat and fun experience and of course, spooky. No jump scares, just spooky old parts of ship and history of the actual ship with the claims of the paranormal in those areas. While we waited to view the pool area we heard weird noises below a stairwell that was blocked off and it startled some people which was funny. There was maybe 20 of us in the group, and while I wish it were a little smaller of a group, it was still great. Thanks Arii for the amazing experience and information!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour!! Our tour guide Tim was absolutely amazing & has such knowledge & passion for this ship & definitely plays the role perfectly he answers ever question with interest & was very honest & upfront! The ship has so much history & has this gravitational pull of wanting to stay longer we did only stay for a day however in one day it feels like we really have been here longer thanks to the WONDERFUL staff around & throughout the ship!! We did get to enter the FAMOUS Paranormal room B340!! Everyone should definitely take advantage of your in the area to book ahead so this amazing tour!! As for the paranormal I would recommend bringing EVPs they do allow cameras and any videos to be taken! Be prepared to walk at least 2 hours or more and going up and down stairs. Have comfortable walking shoes!! If you are staying here as a hotel guest for the QM they do give a discount for all tours! Will definitely be coming back next year!!

We had a great haunted tour guide! Roger thank you for telling us all exceptional stories and making this super fascinating. Highly recommend

I've lived in Long Beach for 6 years now and decided to come here for a date night after hearing positive things about it from friends. Craig was the best tour guide EVER. He made sure we were safe when walking through the nearly 100-year old ship. He made sure everyone was accounted for and checked in with everyone regularly. The tour lasted 2.5 hours and you get a 10 minute bio break mid way through. It was nice to be guided by Craig as I felt safe and didn't have to worry about anything - just enjoyed the ambience of this majestic ship. Craig was a wealth of knowledge when telling us about the Queen Mary's career. I felt like I was living part of history - I cannot recommend this tour enough. Thanks, Craig, for making our date night one to remember!!

Just a tour of the ship. No paranormal per the tour guide. Waste of money. Left half way through. Take your $120 and throw it overboard!

The Queen Mary's Haunted Encounters Tour is an educational adventure that isn't too spooky. The guided tour person provided some eerie stories and history of the ship. The tour also highlights some of the most interesting ghost stories and experiences. After the tour, we relaxed with some drinks at the lovely Observation Bar. The staff was friendly and paid attention to us, and, the cocktails tasted amazing! While we were hanging out, we took in the awesome Art Deco style and the amazing views of the harbor and Long Beach.

The tour guide did a great job. He took us to different rooms and shared about encounters that staff members and guests had experienced. The tour guide also shared stories of people that had passed away on the Queen Mary. He also shared about the most haunted room on the entire ship, room B340. Naturally we had to go to that room and check it out lol The lights were flickering in the room. But nothing else was noticeable when we were there. It was fun to learn about the history of the Queen Mary and learn about the people that had passed away on the ship, as well as the ghosts/ spirits that reside there today. Really fun tour! And the walking wasn't too bad because the guide would stop and wait and then share more stories. Just make sure you are on time for the tours! They start at the time on your ticket and they do not wait for anyone!

A historical landmark, close & free to visit…read more Originally part of the ancestral village of Povuun'nga, the traditional place of origin of the native Gabrielino-Tongva people of the Los Angeles Basin, named Rancho Los Alamitos when the land was conceded to Manuel Nieto, and finally to Fred & Florence Bixby, whose children donated the family ranch to the City of Long Beach in 1968. To enter, visitors proceed to the Bixby Hill residential security gate at the intersection of East Anaheim Road and Palo Verde Avenue. Entrance is strictly at 1pm, as the guard will not allow entrance prior to that. Operating hours are 1pm - 5pm Wed - Sun. Initial visit, the barn area w/ the livestock was closed off due to a water main break. Tours of the Adobe Ranch is via a docent-led tour, which can be made at the Rancho Center. No photography is permitted. Tom was the docent, and he was quite knowledgeable of the history of Rancho Los Alamitos, allowing passage into each room on the first floor. Second floor was closed to visitors. My favorite room was the kitchen, as I marveled at the various appliances, such as the still operational refrigerator, with the condenser on top, instead of bottom. Also, the heavy, built to last stove, which probably served a countless number of meals for the family & staff working the ranch. There were a few objects which were available to touch, such as an early proto version of a View-Master. The cherry on top of the Adobe Ranch visit was pulling the rope attached to the dinner bell, signifying everyone to "come & get it!". The handsome, well-maintained garden landscape surrounding the property provides natural beauty & plenty of photo opportunities. Second visit was more fun, as the barn & livestock areas were open to the public, again! Preston, a magnificent Shire horse, towers over almost all visitors, and stuns with his majestic beauty. In the world record books, a Shire horse named Sampson is the largest recorded horse ever, at 7' 2.5" tall & 3,360 lbs. Not to be outdone, Fred the donkey bombastically greets people with his hee-haws. A few rescue horses, sheep & a coop full of chickens provided plenty of enjoyment. A pleasurable afternoon can be had at Rancho Los Alamitos. Visitors gaze back in time upon a working ranch, experience how things were built to stand the test of time, opposed to planned obsolescence of most machinery & appliances, today. Visiting Preston, Fred & the other animals, alone, is worth the drive. I look forward to coming back & I highly recommend giving Rancho Los Alamitos a visit.

Getting there is part of the experience: you check in with the guard, receive a permit, and drive up the hill before checking in at the front desk. Once you're in, it opens up into this ranch beautiful historic space that feels worlds away from the city. The grounds are stunning. There are lush gardens, a tennis court, and even livestock--horses and chickens--which add so much charm. The ranch sits up on a hill, and it's the perfect place to just relax, sunbathe, or wander and take everything in. One of my favorite spots is the massive tree in the front yard, with its roots stretching out--it's incredibly impressive and peaceful to sit near. What makes it even more special is that it's free, which honestly feels unbelievable given how well-maintained and meaningful the space is. There's also a deep sense of history here, especially tied to the Bixby family and the legacy of the women who helped shape it, which adds another layer of appreciation when you visit. Part of me almost wants to keep it a secret because it feels so personal and serene--but it truly deserves all the praise. I feel lucky to have a place like this right in our backyard
