    Hike to hollywood sign

Chris was amazing! Led with interesting facts leading up to the hollywood sign. Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday in L.A.

You can create memorable moments, scenic photographs, and smiles if you book this hike. As an avid hiker that typically uses intuition or a compass, it was refreshing to have a guide. The main reason is that hiking restrictions are constantly changing with access to the sign. When you book a tour, you learn more and get more for the price.  Essentially, priceless. We went on a Tuesday, slightly overcast and max temp. was 73°. There was a group of 16. Athleticism ranged from avid hikers to couch potatoes.  Even those that never walked a block, were able to make it to the iconic sign. No bathrooms. Not even at local gas stations. You'll have to hold it or release it in nature. I would recommend this trip for ages 9+.  Perhaps these tips may convince you to book it! 1. Sarah, the guide, is vivacious, high energy, humorous, and passionate with history. Tipping is good karma. My 11 year-old was so impressed with Sarah's presentation that she commented, "Sarah is very personable. That's a nice quality in a woman." Go figure. 2. Best time to go is overcast day. Photos are still beautiful. If it's sunny, it will be hot and uncomfortable and for some unbearable.  3. Views, vistas, photo ops, scenic, angles, IG friendly and picturesque moments.  4. If you live in San Diego or Santa Barbara this would be a freakin' cool day trip adventure. 5. Totally recommended for bachelor/bachelorette activity (take tequila for a toast at the top). Memorable for couples, families, mature couples or date one or date 100. 6. Booking, email communication and reminders was professional and timely. Let me know how these tips worked for you.

We did the 13 mile bike ride around West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We took many breaks to hear Hollywood stories. There were many hills. We decided to be lazy and upgrade to the e-bike. People in their 50s were able to bike the hills on regular bikes. We had no bathroom break on the 3 hour trip. I assume if someone would have requested a stop, Erik (our guide) would have made it possible. Bring your own water. It was a fun tour and bikes are top quality Giants. Free parking in their lot. Our guide was born and raised in LA and had good stories.

    Hollywood Sign!

We love the tour given by Noelle- Energy energy ENERGY! Great background on Griffith Park and the Iconic Sign. Thank you!

lots of fun for me and my family! Erik is the best tour guide! highly recommend taking the electric bike tour even if you have never ride one before Erik knows how to make you confident within the first block!

Great tour lead by Erick Martinez. Erick was on it from the start, there was some type of miscommunication between the Viator and Bikes and Hikes and he was able to resolve the issue quickly so that we could start our tour on time. Erick led a group of us effortlessly up the hill and shared a lot of knowledge of Colonel Griffith and the history of the Hollywood sign and the park overall. Thanks Erick we had a great time and would recommend to anyone looking for a hike to do it with you.

We went on the hike with Emily to Griffith Observatory. We can't recommend her enough. She was super funny and super informative. She engaged with everyone and made us connect within the group really well. The hike itself was beautiful. She gave us plenty of opportunities to take pictures and was super willing to take pictures of us, and great ones too! I highly recommend doing the 3:00 tour because you can catch the sunset at Griffith Observatory. Definitely do this tour! And choose Emily if you can!

Each bike comes with a zippered pouch which easily fit my wallet, and water bottle.

You can take your time looking around even though you have a timed tour as there is a studio tour every 10 minutes. When you're ready for the tour, you go to an auditorium to see a short video about the studio and the history. This is updated with recent films (I saw a relatively different video when I went here 2 years ago). You then ride a long cart with other people in your group and your tour guide drives the cart around the lot. There are stops in different areas in the Warner Bros lot and you go down and walk with the guide. Photo opportunities are there as well. Different film/TV clips are also shown on the cart as you go through these iconic spots seeing how they were used in these films/TV shows which is cool. After this, you go to another studio where a Central Perk Cafe, a museum, and souvenir shop are located. You can take your time here as well. You then proceed to the next part of the tour. If you bought Superman experience, you go there. If not, you then go to spot where there's a Friends' couch and have pictures taken there. Next is the more interactive part where there's Harry Potter sets, some figures of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. Costumes and cars can be seen here as well. You'll end again where you entered and there's another huge souvenir shop with different toys, shirts, mugs, magnets, key chains, and so much more. Items are cute but can be pricey. Allot 3 hours for the entire experience without the Superman experience (since we did not do that).

The tour was mostly of sets that included sitcoms like "Friends" and you simply walk around them and visit them. Most of the buildings are empty on the inside to show you but the novelty wears off quickly. You will do this for about an hour and then are dropped off in a museum section which has lots more. They did have other unique things to see like the force perspective and sound effects but that's just it. You exit into a gift shop that is near entirely made of "Friends" souvenirs. You return to the main building for a small DC and Harry Potter section and then straight to the gift shop. I was fairly underwhelmed by it. I expected a bit more in explanation and showing things instead of here's so and so from this show. The museum portion was more of a photo op than anything. I don't think I would return.

My favorite portion of the tour was the New York set. It was fun walking through the diner set from Glee and getting the opportunity to enter one of the large soundstages that have been used in many movies. Our very first Six Taste tour was actually the Arts District tour back in 2016, so it was special to return ten years later and experience it again. My mom wanted to travel through South America, down to Argentina and then hop on a cruise to Antarctica. I've always seen deals for cruises to Antarctica from Argentina. So I had her call Albert for some advice on this type of journey. To my surprise, my mom had a terrible phone conversation with Albert. Not only was Albert rude to her, he criticized her for supposedly confusing him with her questions. The most shocking part was when he questioned why she would travel to Antarctica and that it was super hot! Um, really? I have no idea why he would think Antarctica is hot. Last I checked, it's -24 degrees Fahrenheit down there! And this was just the tip of the iceberg (pun intended). He then proceeded to tell her that he was really busy and that she was wasting his time. Told her to just go to his office instead. I understand if she's not a customer and just a random caller with questions. However, she was a referral from a customer. Even if she was just a random caller, why be rude to the person? The whole "Antarctica is super hot" comment was just perplexing. A travel agent made this comment...a travel agent. And to make her feel stupid for asking about cruises to Antarctica was unnecessary considering these cruises DO exist. The poor treatment of a referral from a regular customer was very disappointing. Needless to say, I'll be searching for a new travel agency.
