We have two and a half bathrooms, so I decided to have all three flappers replaced in order to avoid future problems. Nick insisted on inspecting all three toilets before starting. Nick also stated that any repairs would not be guaranteed. That should have been a tip off. By the time he finished, two of the toilets were replaced and one was repaired. The bill was $3906 Instead of a couple of hundred dollars. Since I'm 90, I've gotten a bit slow but at least I don't fall for the internet scams.

The workers who installed the plumbing and heating sytems were very clean and prompt. They also had the amazing ability to install new plumbing lines while discussing their love life on the phone. They were so distracted they often came unprepared to complete the tasks. the Contract was for a hydro air system with a boiler that Ray talked us out of using after the job was started and a different boiler was installed. Since the CO, I have had to replace 3 manifolds, had my basement flood twice, have CONSTANT issues with the boiler he installed, no hot water, bad smells, you name it. He grew increasingly annoyed at coming back out until he just stopped returning my calls or showing up. I am still having trouble with the plumbing in the house and have no faith in the job that was done, but the walls are up and the job finished, so I have to accept that I just got a bad builder in his choice of subcontractors and his ability to monitor the plumbing job. The bottom line is not how a contractor is in the beginning but how the job ends up. Advise, the lowest price is not always the answer.

I had 2 people come out and I wanted to get one more opinion because the other 2 were confusing. When I explained my situation, he started asking me questions about the quotes. Not being and expert, I didn't have answers to his questions. He asked why they were recommending the equipment that they were. I explained that they indicated that I needed to replace the entire system as well as the A/C condensers because of the new federal requirements. He told me that they were selling me a bridge that I would never use. He also used the "F" word to me. He indicated that he was familiar with many of the houses in my neighborhood. I explained that is why I called him. When I asked him to come out to check it, he rudely said, "Good luck to you." and hung up on me. He was incredibly abrupt and at times abusive on the phone. It turned out that our water heater was broken and leaking. He quickly pumped all of the water out of the tank and off the floor. The next morning at 8am they came by to put in a new water heater. By noon, they were done with the installation of a larger water heater which required a new vent and a small amount of plumbing work. They were very tidy and cleaned up all the debris. The price was extremely reasonable. They were also very personable and professional.
