With just about everything you can find at the city Pete's locations and a few special extras, all I could think about was how awesome it must be to go to Acadia and have all that within walking distance at all times. Where they go awry a little bit is on the to-go counters. The wait times ended up being a bit outrageous for no particular reason. A breakfast sandwich to go took about 25 minutes (no joke), and I saw a breakfast smoothie take about 15. Maybe they were just getting things started that morning and hadn't set up all their ingredients, but it was a bit much.

Willowbank Farm has many animals - from their friendly family dogs to grazing cattle and everything in between. The kids (and kids at heart) will love spending time in the petting zoo. Here you can handle and pet chickens, goats, and miniature donkeys. Next to the petting zoo is a horse training ring where you can watch riders jump over fences and speed around turns on some of the most well cared for horses in the Annapolis valley. It's right off highway 12 and just a few kilometres outside of the town of New Ross. You can't miss it. They've got a brewpub in Halifax but this is better because you can talk with the alchemist behind the craft on site. The selection is just huge and you can sample whatever you want first before buying. The little retail hut is TINY but it does have three stools for sampling. There is literally something here for everyone. We like dry ciders and there are a lot of options. But there are also in between and even sweeter options. Lots of sweet fruit wine options as well for folks who haven't refined or figured out their palate yet, too. Definitely check this place out if you're heading up or down the highway!

And you can get whatever quantity you want, from a pinch to a pound! You pay based on the weight but we bought about 10 different things and barely broke 20 dollars. You want to try quinoa but you're not sure you'll like it? Buy a cup worth. Got a weird addiction to Sour Skittles and you're embarrassed the convenience store guy is starting to notice? Buy three pounds at Bulk Barn. Our only knock is that we wish their scoops had measurements on them in case you're buying portions to cook with.

They will often have free coffee from local roaster Wheelhouse Coffee on site as well as cookies and other snacks. A very friendly place and worth stopping in despite being a little bit of a detour.
