So we googled it and found that there's a gift shop that has it. I decided I was gonna call before I left because it is pretty far away from where I'm staying and the gentleman that answered the phone was super kind and confirmed that they did have it and he was willing to stay open later just to give me some time to get there. Sure enough when I arrived. This guy was absolutely the kindest person with a shop. That was absolutely amazing and I wish I had more time I would've shopped for my family, but unfortunately, I didn't have much time. He definitely has an amazing talent because most of the things inside his shop are created by himself. He saved me the perfume and not only that he actually told me where I can go eat around there. That's really good food. The value of this place you're not gonna find any better. Overall, I gotta tell you this is probably my six years of coming to the Hawaiian islands in a row by far. This is the best gift shop I've ever been to.

Having Hukilau Marketplace is a welcomed addition with many eateries and boutique stores. This place is connected with the Polynesian Cultural Center. There's plenty of parking. This is a newer place (opened in 2015). It has a vintage, casual, outdoor marketplace vibe, but everything is clean, open, and spacious. There are many unique eateries and stores that you can only find here, such as Kiwi Style Fish and Chips, Sodabomb, Kiwi Korner meat pies, and etc. Hukilau Marketplace is defintely a very nice pit stop from your drive to refresh and grab a bite to eat.

One room had clothing, wraps, and tote bags, while another room featured soaps and lotions. We found stickers, patches, and coasters in the main room. My friend got a magnet for her refrigerator! I thought about getting matching jewelry for us gals. I also considered the Beer Soap... intriguing... The books - on Duke Kahanamoku and "Eddie Would Go" - were tempting... maybe next time... when my friends' luggage aren't stuffed... Service was friendly and helpful. We found free parking on the side road. My friends really appreciated the benches outside where they could sit for a while. I liked the air conditioning inside! Check out the vintage cash register and shave ice machine. I think Steve Aoki's grandmother used these in 1931 when she had a stand at the Haleiwa Theater!

Kai Ku Hale was one of those little Haleʻiwa stores where I wanted half the things I saw and bought…read moreexactly nothing. The name itself made me like the store even more. Kai Ku Hale means "house on the gentle ocean at low tide." Owner Layne Larsen came up with it from one of her favorite things to do: walk the North Shore at low tide collecting shells, driftwood, sea glass and other things left behind by the ocean. She opened the store in 2008, originally thinking it would be an interior design business, but when the recession hit, she shifted it into a place that supported local artists. And once you know that, the store makes so much sense. I kept noticing recycled fabric, glass, driftwood and repurposed materials everywhere. Sustainability didn't feel like something added on for marketing. It felt baked into the place. The store now carries work from more than 50 island artists and makers, with a lot of pieces made from reclaimed, reused and recycled materials. And OMG the tchotchkes. So many things I could picture coming home with me. I bought nothing. Not because I wasn't tempted. I was VERY tempted. Expensive, yes. But this was one of my favorite stores to simply wander through in Haleʻiwa. And knowing the story behind the name made me like it even more.

This is one of my favorite places to just window shop. They have really fun, coastal and local vibe home decor and lifestyle finds. I've eaten at Kono's although I am not primarily a pork person so I would not personally go back here. Some places to visit would be the Aloha General Store where you'll find Island-inspired gifts, clothing, home décor, shave ice, and souvenirs. Aloha Vintage Vibes is where you will find vintage Hawaiian apparel, retro finds, and unique gifts. Northshore Boardriders Club is where I found a really cute bracelet here that allows you to track your own sea life! You'll also find surf apparel, boards, accessories, and local North Shore merchandise. Polynesian Treasures is neat. You get to browse through Hawaiian-made gifts, wood carvings, jewelry, and island crafts. I Am Paradise is a Pearl Shop. You will find Hawaiian pearl jewelry and handcrafted pieces. I have not yet entered this establishment yet. I think I'm intimidated by the possible price point of real Hawaiian pearls. Silver Moon Emporium is where you can shop for Women's fashion, accessories, and boutique clothing. I wish there were more plus size options. Tini Manini, I haven't been to this one yet but you'll be able to find Children's clothing, toys, and gifts here. Waimea Blue North Shore Art Gallery is where you can shop for original local artwork, photography, and prints. There are also several dining options which include: Banzai Sushi Bar, Cholo's Homestyle Mexican, Kono's, Maya's Tapas & Wine, IL Gelato Cafe (Love this place!), and The Fixx Haleiwa. I have yet to try them all but even more reason to come back to take a trip over to the North Shore.
